Unacceptable? Isn't this just the change from 4 import D to 3 ( a consequence of losing Matt Myers ?) and losing an All Star Team defenceman in Werner to injury. I think we were bound to be weaker defensively this year but this is coupled with the whole team not clicking yet.
What was encouraging was how the weakened five man defence performed last Sunday against Riga.

Big OG from Panthers on this whole sorry subject.... I don't think you can blame Panthers for this. Do you really think that Gary Moran wants all this bad PR and potential lost revenue? I'm sure it's completely out of their hands Maybe not for the supply problems but how have they handled the fall out over the past couple of months? A couple of brief website items, something tucked away in an email newsletter and no full explanation. Panthers are very keen to do 'aren't we great?' items but this doesn't extend to when they ought to hold their hands up and apologise.

Thanks for asking that. Same here - just phoned up, the second seat (different to my normal one) has been loaded on my season ticket.

The inflation rate wasn't something they thought about with the 2010 to 2011 per game ST increase.

Agree with all the comments about wanting a stronger, tougher D.
Neil Black was obviously on the balcony on Sunday night, and it wouldn't surprise me if he'd thought 'more of the same will do' and that doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence of seeing a title challenge next year.

Disagree. The first two periods were very even as the 0-0 scoreline would suggest and Sumo was the busier of the two netminders up until that point. I'd agree with that assesment for the third period but certainly not the whole game. +1 from someone else who was there. We may have put a lot of rubber on Sumo but lots of it in the first two periods were shots straight at him with no screen. In the third, we were trying to screen him and get him out of position a lot more but he was up to it and also benefitted from some luck. It wasn't a 3-0 game on the balance of play but that doesn't count, the score does.

Interesting that today's apparent best back up (House) wasn't that when he was with us. Makes me wonder whether some of the problem is our lack of confidence in any back up or Panthers' playing style.

That was it but very Moran speak despite it being a quote from a 'spokeswoman'.
'Panthers always been open about McAslan with us.'
Our recent results (with imports missing) and Braehead's (losses with extra spare import) question whether we really need a spare import. ( that last bit isn't a quote but the gist of what was said)

From what is being said on Twitter it seems Braehead may have some 'charming' fans of their own. I was sat in block 15 and when Clarkie took his first penalty, I did notice a Clan fan apparently making a monkey gesture at him. Obviously, it's an across the ice view but that's what it appeared to be.

Panthers Board up Trent Bridge
Relieved to see what it really was, had been thinking that must need a lot of wood and nails

Perhaps the fact that they both outscored a guy who has left us to try and make the NHL will finally put an end to the seemingly endless criticisms of both players by SOME people on here. The anti-Clarke and Galbraith contingent now don't really have a leg to stand on. Surprisingly they both outscored ex NHLer Rumun Ndur a couple of years ago too. Statistics can prove anything you want

Good reviews of the season.
The only one I disagree with was Beauregard - I don't think his work rate made up for his lack of points. Great last two matches but he didn't score a point in 15 of the other 23 games against the top 3. I know he had a lot more ice time at Manchester but I expected more production than we got this year.

You'd have thought that with Panthers trying to be a bit more 'fan friendly' in recent weeks, the announcement could have said why there's a need for a price hike instead of trying to hide most of it by reducing the games covered.

I think the dispute between Panthers and Powerplay was about what was being written in Simms' column.

The 'lay' to me means that you are the bookmaker on an exchange. Therefore if you laid the Panthers last night at 2.25 and someone had bet £20 you would have stood to lose £45. I don't know exactly how these exchanges work when it comes to laying bets. There is presumably a system in place whereby the layer can limit his liability? Over to Heanor Lair or someone more experienced on that one I'm afraid. Yes, the layer is limited in much the same way as the bettor on the other side. If I you lay £20 at 2.25 to match that bet (£20 at 2.25) , the limit of your liability is £25, potential winnings £20 (less commission at betfair). The guy who makes the bet can lose £20 or make a profit of £25 (plus getting his £20 stake back).

Perhaps someone can explain something about Carson here please? Clark got 10 plus 2 plus 5 for fighting Lepine, served 2 and then sat in the penalty box for 10 mins in the second period, how does that work? So at that the point after the fight, the scoreboard shows 2 mins for clark and 5 mins for Lepine, obviously of which Ward sat in for him. How does that work?!!! I think the Steeler player in the box for the 2 was Thomas. As Clark was out for 17 minutes which stretched into the second period, he presumably was allowed to go to the dressing room for the remainder of the first period and then served the rest of his penalty in the box in the second period.

Hang on, you've just picked a bit of the quote to suit yourself.
The full quote has a rather different emphasis
"We already have more than 6,000 tickets sold for our game with Sheffield next Saturday – I just hope we put on a much better show than we did tonight."
