Perhaps the fact that they both outscored a guy who has left us to try and make the NHL will finally put an end to the seemingly endless criticisms of both players by SOME people on here.
The anti-Clarke and Galbraith contingent now don't really have a leg to stand on.

Despite not agreeing with much the criticism against Clarkey, some of the criticisms against Jade can't be argued with but that's for the Galbraith thread already created.
As for Ryan trying to make the NHL, there is no correlation between him leaving us and being a lower goalscorer than the mentioned players. I can say im going to try and make it in the NHL, doesn't mean I will though. If Ryan plays a game in the NHL then I shall streak through the market square on a snowy day.

LOL! Come on Billy Ryan get in the NHL I could do with a laugh!
Everyone has their views about each player.
I get frustrated with Clarkey at every game when he misses a sitter (its only my opinion and only a game) and my family and friends around me laugh when I scream clarkey. It doesnt matter, it isnt hurting him. In fact it adds to my game! I recognise his scoring talents and I am fine with him being back this year. But I will still moan at him (even though he cant hear me) during the match.
As for Jade - I cant say alot other than he (and not just him) was inconsistent last season, in that he either had a brilliant game or a poor game (but that summed up the season for the team?) and some of his off ice and on ice antics annoyed people - thats ok everyone has a right to an opinion and not everyone has to share it.
As for Billy, Im no expert, I cant play ice hockey. I liked watching him. Was he better or worse than any other player? I have no idea. I would have been happy if he came back next season and i am happy that he isnt too - there will be other players next season. I wish him luck in his chosen path.

As I stated he is going to 'try' and make it. Not many other players even attempt to 'try'. Don't forget he's already been drafted in the NHL once before. Whether he does or doesn't is irrelevant, the fact that two higher (our two highest) point scorers get so much criticism is quite frankly laughable.

In your opinion lets not state "laughable" as a fact shall we please?..
It isnt so much the points he gets that i feel people are complaining about its the "points he doesnt get" and in the case of Galbraith its alot of other things that arent necessarily related to on ice performance either but as stated unless you want this dragging up YET AGAIN its best left to the thread it was originally posted on...

The anti-Clarke and Galbraith contingent now don't really have a leg to stand on. This is a very brash statement. I for one have criticised both players mentioned at some point or another but not for their points scoring ability as I consider this a short sighted way of rating a player. I have criticised on the grounds that both players are very good at one thing and neglect other areas of their game also I have criticised that both players often go missing and perhaps do not play to their POTENTIAL. Now Billy Ryan may not make the NHL but at least he's willing to go out their and REALISE his potential. As for the anti-Clarke/Galbraith, I have no particular agenda against them, I merely highlight areas of their game which I would like to see them improve upon.

The anti-Clarke and Galbraith contingent now don't really have a leg to stand on. Unfortunately hockey is about more than just scoring goals. Both Galbraith and Clarke are deficient in areas other than that particular one, as are Billy Ryan and the rest of the team on occasion. Galbraith is indiciplined on and off the ice, has been overweight and throws tantrums when things don't go his way. Clarke is lazy, greedy and should score his quota of goals given the number of shots he takes, many of which fail to hit the target.

Ok, seems you're not satisfied. Who would you replace Clarke and Galbraith with in order to replace their point production at a similar wage (based on educated assumptions about salaries)?

Until someone can show some evidence that Clarke shoots so much more than anyone else (bearing in mind that's what he's paid to do) then we can't really accept that as an argument any more than anything else that is based on speculation and rumour. If we just stick to the facts, the points column is your friend.

Galbraiths points last season didnt even come close to getting us the League - the big matches he nearly always goes missing And you know he does ! (But he loves Nottingham and all his fans here and he does us all a favour by playing for low wages so lets take the easy option and keep him instead of trying to create a team capable of playing and scoring well week in week out)

Forum gold....
Watching panthers for long enough to know when players are coasting and knowing when david clarke will end his early season hot streak (usually around November) prove much more than any stats.
Your reasoning for stating your opinion as fact is laughable.

Don't know about Clarke's SOG count compared to other players... but his goal tally is enough for me. And as for the "lazy, greedy" bit - in your opinion. I happen to disagree with this (and I'm far from the only one) - as has been discussed on plenty of threads in the past. Methinks you are only seeing what you want to see.

Clarke's overall contribution is, in my opinion poor, I don't however remember criticising his actual goal output.

What's the problem with Billy going to try for the NHL? He's good enough, just because clarkey and jade got more points is nothing. Billy was an all round better player than those two. Didn't DC and JG finish in the top 5 top point scorers or something this season, if that's happening and we're not challenging for the league, whats going wrong? No matter what stats you show me, JG always goes missing at a time when we need him. Yeah he gets the points, but I can not remember him in his spell here getting an important goal which has changed the game in our favour. Regardless of how many points he gets against whoever, he needs to do this, as somebody said earlier in the thread, if these guys are so good, why aren't they getting offers to go onto bigger and better things. Matt Myers got that sort of offer, and before he went, he wasn't getting anywhere as close as DC and JG was. Go figure.

Regardless of how many points he gets against whoever, he needs to do this, as somebody said earlier in the thread,. Whether you like him or loathe him isnt it startling when Jade is our highest points scorer that he very rarely (in most people's memories on here) scores a a game changing or crucial goal ? To me I have always thought this purely out of gut instinct - that he scores goals when we are cruising against teams or when we have already lost I do not doubt those earlier stats Shaggy that you highlight that clearly show he does score against all of the teams quite evenly but IMO he scores when either we are already winning easily or when we are already beaten by teams (again thats purely my gut instinct - I have no stats to back it up) And when a game needs something special to turn things round that is when he goes missing too often Hope that makes sense (Having said all that there is one exception where I always feel most confident about Jade and that is on penalty shots - there I recognise he does better than most of our team again based on gut instinct without stats to back it up) As people know I believe we need better than him - he is too much the focus of this team and he lets us down too often with his application - when he is not on it - I believe the whole team is affected too much because they rely on hin too much

What I love about this is that people in support of Clarke and Galbraith can support their argument with facts. People against just use hearsay and opinion.
