I don't write many posts but I am very disappointed to say the least over the pre-season friendlies that have been arranged. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of the pre-season games and yes I like the fact that its different opposition BUT I don't like the idea of it being included of the season ticket holders after the club had PROMISED to include the Quarter Final of the Cup or Playoff games as the 27th game. And no this is not about money its about being LIED too as the following link from Panthers shows: www.panthers.co.uk/modules/News/ViewNewsItem.asp?ID=2541Come on Panthers I thought you were better than this.............Rant over......

100% agree with you Adi. Let's just hope it's a screw up by whoever writes the official site.
If I go to a shop and buy a ham sandwich, I wouldn't be happy if they took my money and gave me a cheese sandwich.
First they change the league format, now they change the games we've paid for.
Typical British hockey, fans are a after thought like normal, I for one am getting sick of it. They should be planning next season now, not changing things after people have paid. Unprofessional, if this is the case, season ticket holders should get money back if they can't make this friendly.
I was sold a competitive quarter final ticket, I want one!

I am confused.
At what point does it say that the friendly on 1 Sept REPLACES the home leg of the play off quarter final?

As someone who made plans on the back of that article and the fixtures announcement, I'm disappointed too.
There is a quite simple solution that I bet the NIC system can cope with...
Any season ticket holder who attends the pre-season game is down the the 26 remaining league games, anyone who doesn't gets what they originally said.
I won't hold my breath though.

I am confused. At what point does it say that the friendly on 1 Sept REPLACES the home leg of the play off quarter final? In the penultimate paragraph:- I'm in full agreement with Adi - this is a big mistake by the Panthers. Not that it affects me personally - I'd have been going to the play-offs game anyway, and the pre-season games (which, to be fair, I expect to be pretty good - on that score if nothing else, well done Panthers getting that opposition in!). But this is a massive screw-up on the PR front... to openly and publicly tout the 27th game on the ST as being a cup quarter-final - while season tickets are still on sale! - and then later on change it to a non-competitive game? (come on - this 'Aladdin Cup' is nothing compared to the Challenge Cup or Play-Offs trophy). BIG mistake. Seeing as we know that at least someone from the Panthers reads this forum - here's a message to the club:- You screwed up. Don't worry too much about that - everybody makes mistakes, and denying that fact would be stupid - what shows that you're a 'bigger person' (so to speak) is how you handle things after the mistake - how you correct such. Back-tracking is not the end of the world... admit the mistake, correct it... and you're likely to get a lot more respect than if you just stick to your guns. Not from some people, of course - but there are those that will slag you off regardless, that's just the way they are.

It's poo poo.
You CANNOT promise one thing then give us something else. Trade descriptions?!!!!
Things like this seriously wee wee me off. I'm currently thinking fudge it and go off to watch Hull instead.

Perhaps another reason I am glad that I did not re-apply. Uninteresting league structure and continued failure to operate original plans.

They'll make far more money by doing it this way, it really is a no brainer in that respect. The mistake they've made is telling fans one thing and then changing it.

The other mistake is having allocated this last ST slot to a 'non-competitive' game... allocating it to a CC or PO game makes a lot more sense to the fans. I like the idea of playing the Italian side myself, but not everyone is going to see it that way.

True. Any season ticket game should be a competitive one. Adding a friendly to it would be much appreciated, but not instead of a competitive game.

You can analyse it any way you want but the fact is this evidences perfectly why the club lost me as a paying customer a long time ago. They are interested in ££££'s only. Signings are overhyped to generate more £'s, games are organised to generate more £'s, season ticket holders are messed about to generate more £'s.... the list goes on and on.
All businesses need to be profitable, all need to have a strategy that makes them such.....but businesses that deal in emotional attachment such as sporting clubs should pay much more attention to the way those decisions affect fans.
The thing that makes me laugh, or even cringe, is the brazen way they expect people to swallow this bull - but then the disappointing thing is so many just will. To openly advertise a 27 game ST including PO QF or a CC game and then switch it to a meaningless pre-season friendly is approaching an act of sheer contempt for your most loyal customers.
They'll never stop me supporting my team, that is impossible, but there is a reason I only watch the boys on opposition ice and this once again just confirms to me that i've made the right decision in that regard. One day this attitude will have serious consequences for the club, it's a ticking time bomb.
I hope for all of you loyal fans who have shelled out they realise their mistake and change their decision.

Had another response, basically telling me that we should of been starting the league season on 1st/2nd but couldn't due to other teams, and I should of worked out for myself that it was going to be included in the season ticket from them saying the pre-season news was exciting!

Simply don't attend either game. You have a voice as long as it's used together.

I won't be, I'm not in Nottingham that weekend, made other plans when the fixtures were announced based on the information I'd be given up to that point!

Never mind all that, did the response contain the words 'double double' and also make reference to the biggest hockey rivalry in the world, ever, since records began and Moses was a lad? If not I would seriously question its authenticity and it's entirely possible the club hamster may have inadvertently escaped and trundled across the keyboard.
