Edinburgh 1-11 Coventry ouchhh - after Panthers only just scraped a win in Edinburgh last Sunday, it's a shock seeing that Cov won by 10 goals! Doug let the ice and put on his suit, plus Robbo left the ice as well for the caps I've read.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Sharp sent out straight away tomorrow to try to fight Ndur/Bergin/Neilson or Richardson and take them out of the game for 5 mins to try to give them an early advantage. Hope so, and Ndur to pound him! Ndur took a ten minute misconduct at the start of the first in Hull, when his gloves kinda fell off, and Prozak skated away as fast as he could. It seemed to benefit the panthers rather than Hull, as it sent a message and set the tone for the night.

Steeler also raise their game for the panthers, saving themselves?? Hope their flight back wasn't too bumpy for them.
Will defiently pay for the webcast on the two belfast v panthers games I won't be at!

Good report there Jono. Also cheers for the vid "Zukiwskyfan" I was in the bar upstairs watching when it kicked off near the end of the 2nd. Bit wary that galbrait could end up for with suspension, but Kozak hit on him was very high, so it was tit for tat.
Is Kozak an enforcer? if so then he must be the worst ever! It was a bit dumb though on Ndur's part, getting a ten minute misconduct, then another penalty which led to a Hull goal, trying to get Kozak to fight. He should really have known "Prozak" would have chickened off. I would thought that Corey would have warned Ndur before the game, not to do anything stupid in that regard.
Kozak was Hull's best player (and dancer) and I think he must regret the Levers incident, but he should have just had the fight with Ndur at the start of the game, then that would have been that! Now it may spill over into the next Panthers v Hull game.
Still happy we have Ndur enforcing mind you. At the start of the season people were saying Hull had asembled a team full of goon, well panthers had them running scared on their own ice!
Tessier amazing again, how he didn't get MOM I don't know! Molin as well, two goals and a good old round performance. It is fantastic that so many goals are being scored and shared out amongst the team.
According to stats I've read Hull outshot us 37 to 31, and I thought Woolhouse had an Ok game. Yes he looked shaky when Hull had 5 on 3 powerplays but that's not surprising. he made one bad error when he went walkabouts, and things could have been different had Hull scored as the result of that.
Don't know if anyone has official attendence, estimate I would say 800-900, of which around 500 were panthers fans? Kozak was winding the fans up, and we were winding him up, trying to get him to drop the gloves.
TOP OF THE LEAGUE - hopefully we will still be top after playing the "Squeelers" today!

I reckon 4-2 to the panthers. Feel it will be a tight niggly game. Anyone know who is reffing?
bet365 have hull @ 5/6 on the 2.5 asian h/cap. Think that's a decent shout as can't see panthers running away with it! Vipers at 10/11 to win away in basingstoke, they should really get back to winning ways, but not going to risk more than a few quid on it, plus having a saver on the draw.

about how many panthers fans do people reckon will be at hull? With all these away games, including steelers the day after, plus the credit crunch; I'm not sure how many to expect! I have had a change of mind, and am going to the Hull game, and not to the steelers. First time to the hull arena, are they a friendly mob? How much are pints, and can alcohol be consumed whilst standing watching the game?
Edinburgh was good as you could carry booze, or whatever you wanted into the arena with you.

[quoteAs I can now get into a cup game without paying extra. Swings and roundabouts, that's another old saying......Sorry I'll get my coat[/quote]
yeah but it is now a league game, with points counting towards the cup, so really it means there is one less hockey game on at the "fabulous NIC" - lost revenue? You are just saving the costs of not having to fork out money for a cup game which was supposed to be played on that date between the sides.
It is getting ridiculous now, just yesterday they said on the official site - "GOOD NEWS - no more fixture changes", then this! someone is aving a GIRAFFE!
I fly back into East Mids that Thursday. I wasn't going to be present as it was down as "A CUP GAME", now me and me baggage will ave to make it, well that's if there isn'ta flight delay! Will be pretty tight to make the start even without any delays. Also hope the NIC staff don't take too long to check me bags before letting me in!

absolute quality weekend! had a right laugh from the minute i stepped onto the coach to the minute i got home. everyone on the coach got involved in the entertainment, we had a good range of films to watch, and hot and cold drinks all ready to be served out. we had flags and scarfs and banners hanging up, felt like we was actually a coach full of supporters really good time hope we can all do it again sometime. No trolly dollies serving the drinks unfortunately, but I will give you and Ben credit for not spilling anyone's drinks! Films not too everyone's taste, but impossible to please everyone!

Yep another four have been announced! At least there is plenty of notice, best make a note of them before I forget...
Nottingham v Coventry from Dec 6th moves to Tues Feb 17th Nottingham v Coventry from Jan 24th moves to Sun Jan 25th Coventry v Nottingham from Jan 25th to Sat Jan 24th Nottingham v Basingstoke from Feb 17th to Wed March 18th
(taken from official panthers site)
I know the first one is due to Carl Froch boxing that night, so hopefully many Panthers fans will still be in attendence that Saturday! Disappointed though that two of the home League Coventry games won't now be played on Saturday's!

I will have a stab at Carson being the ref, (hope I'm wrong!) One person who I think definetly won't be in charge is Darnell! It probly would end up a free for all if he was in charge!

How about this let everyone have a go at Kozak? Ruman First, Kev Second and then A N Other... will he then get thrown out for having 3 fighting majors, get an automatic review and a nice new ban ;-) Kozak's stupid, but I don't think he's that stupid... His team mates will most likely have an eye out for that sort of thing, and would jump in quick. Personally which I hope/think will happen is that Panthers concentrate on the hockey, and give Hull a hockey lesson. Think it will be Ndur who will go with Kozak, maybe at the start, then we can get on with the game! Any talk of revenge iwould be nice, but is OTT! Would settle for the two points, and for Ndur to give Kozak a thumping!

Not sure if there is anything left to discuss now? Just if Richard (old man) has read this thread, and clarify where his info from. It was good of Steve Greaves from Premiere to come off and clarify things from their end.
It was a great trip organised by Rich - which he helped to make thoroughly enjoyable. Long journey but it went quicker than I thought it would. Hopeful more can be organised, to Cardiff, and maybe Newcastle this season?
All that matters is that there's at least one Supporters coach running to each away game this season, which their should be, with Panthers looking like they will have a good one!

Sunday Report
Awoken very early in the morning by some tw*ts. Didn't go to the zoo, but told I didn't miss much apart from "scottie shagging a llama" The £1 bottles of lager went down a treat, but didn't think much to the Murrayfield Hotel!
Onto the game: panthers went 4-0 up, went into cruise control and paid the prize - v sloppy! Went to 4-4, and panthers remembered they had a plane to catch at 10pm, so though they had better make sure of the win inside regulation (for the second time!)
Back to Murrayfield Hotel, not sure why? Then into the city centre - for loadsa drinking, including too many whiskies to remember... staggered home somehow, as luckily didn't have too far too stagger back!
Now just got the return 8 hour coach journey to get thru!

Could have finished about 10-4, parley made some excellent saves. guess Wooley will be in the nets for Sunday. Yeah Graham hit was accidental.
Roll on Sunday, and no I don't see any point in visiting the Zoo, enough animals, (people) watching the panthers play who should be locked up (joke guys!) , and £12 to see a castle is a bit steep too. Edinburgh is a great city mind!
Wonder if the wall will be fixed in time for sundays game?
Free 3 hour walking tour 11am tomorrow, so will see where that takes me, then drinking / watching footy; watching panthers, then more drinking!

On the webcam could you pick up many of the songs that we were chanting, from the back of section where the panthers fans were sitting?

Cheers, I was one of the "loonies" at the back few rows where the panthers fans sat. Apologies if I offended any "Caps" fans. Nearly got chucked out so I will be on my best behaviour tonight (maybe?) My first time in Edinburgh, which is a cracking city! I would be out till later but I am a tad short of cash, but hey the internet which I have just logged onto is free, and I have got a 42" inch wide screen tv to watch, either cable stations or a selection of DVD's.
I am thinking of supporting the "Caps" for tonights game, so if you see someone in a "jimmy hat" it is probly me, so say hi.
Spoke to Kevin Bergin after the game, and said we wanted the panthers to score 7 in Sudays game, to which he replied "we will do our best"
Good luck to the caps though tonight!

I have to say when I first seen Michel play I was not that impressed with him but he stood on his head on Sunday night against the Vipers and if he continues to play like that for the rest of the season then I for one will be a very happy Caps fan. To everyone who is coming up at the weekend, have a safe trip up to Bonny Scotland and lets hope we have two great games of hockey. cheers just had a look at the weekend weather forecast, and max temp is 8c on Saturday. How cold is the rink, as I am a first timer to Edinburgh, but seem to remember people saying it is pretty chilly watching the hockey at the Murrayfield Ice Rink. Also best places to eat / drink? Cost of beer at the rink? Thanks Nick

Cheers,
Do we just need to show match tickets, or a "panthers shirt" to get the discounted food / drink?

Remember it's the credit crunch, so people not spending as much money. I sometimes buy 50/50 tickets but didn't last night. Also the tight steelers fans probly didn't contribute much to the total. £750 was about right.

Not the greatest performance, but who cares we won 5-4!!!!
1st Period we were the better team and probly deserved to lead it 2-0.
2nd period we seemed to fall asleep, and got into old habits, with last seasons players probly remembering that steelers have (had) a bit of a hoodoo over us.
3rd period fairly even, and nerve racking. Thought we were going to lose until Tessier's stunner, then Bergin nicks the winner. FANTASTIC.......
I don't expect us to beat Coventry today, our players will be exhausted after giving their all.. I will gladly settle for 50/50 (0.5) win ratio this weekend, and it was the Steelers who I badly wanted us to beat!
Wel done to nearly all the players who did us proud.. Galbraith, Tess (though goal made up for it) and possibly Molin were a little quiet, but the first two are two weeks behind in training/fitness so hardly surprising...
Carson would have had a lot of stick (again) had panthers not won. For at least one of Sheffs goals they had a man in the crease. Also penalty calls resulting in two of their goals were very dubious (as per usual!) Rumour has it Carson was crying all the way back to sheffield...

you can't though call molin & Tessier are 3rd liners. They would be the top liners in most other teams.
All lines are fairly equal, with the myers probably slightly weaker, and the Richardson line probly the most productive in terms of goals.
Lets hope we stay pretty much injury free this season, so we can remain with those lines.
Great work Corey in recruiting!

Ice hockey fans + other sports fans are missing out on a cracker mind.. Probly the panthers - steelers game they do show will be something like a dour 2-0 win to either team, so hardly an advert for hockey! I won't be tuning in for a hull v edinburgh game, but obviousely would if they were showing panthers v steelers from last night.

Great atmosphere tonight, especially in final 6 minutes when Tessier equalised, then Bergin hit the winner.
Any chance we can agree on a particular version (i.e. which words to sing) for a Dan Tessier song? If we are singing of the same hymn sheet (so to speak) then it will sound fantastic! Groups of fans were probly singing 4 or 5 different versions to the same tune, after Dan's great equaliser!
