cheers, will use it for the other two caps v panthers games. I'll be at the game for this one, in edinburgh from saturday evening. It should be a fun weekend, and the weather forecast is reasonable for edinburgh this weekend.
hmmmm I'll either sit at the back of the rink, or sit near the front to wind up Sharp. Sharp is a rubbish fighter, and can't skate for toffee!
How have the caps done in the past week or two, as I realise this is their first home league game of the season?
my score pred: 5-2 to the panthers.
and to sharpie: Dagleish is gonna get ya! repeat x 10 , or just dagleish dagleish dagleish is on fire!

I have found some good value accom about 5-10 mins walk from the arena. it was about 40 quid for a single room. thanks for your help guys in answering my questions.
who else is going up for the game, and who will be staying over sunday night? I will be pretty drunk by the end of Sunday, as will be drinking from about 1pm.

Agreed Sunbeam, it's more expensive than Nottingham's other sporting venues, and the same price as some London venues I know.
Buster - 15 - 20 mins during periods gives you plenty of time to nip to the castle for a drink if you so wish.
and taking a bit of food or drink into the arena shouldn't be a problem, although I know technical you aren't allowed.

Was a great surprise for me, as I had no idea until I saw him skate out in his lovely white boots.

dunno about the food, but the drink has got even more expensive, and is no better. £3.70 for a pint of stella, or £3.50 for the others, wtf.. we are not in central london, actually central london tends to be cheaper than that for a pint!
Anyone up for starting a food & drink boycott at the NIC.
Shall we all start sneeking our food & drink into the NIC, or just nip to the pub, / chippy / subway during period breaks?
Also is it just me, or are the period breaks getting longer, I'm sure saturday games used to start at 7pm, and finish by 9.20pm, it's more 9.40pm by the time you are out of the stadium now!

and he didn't appear back on the ice, until it was practically time for the handshakes.
I am happy enough for panthers not to have an enforcer, and I don't think anywhere really had a bad game in the panthers shirt last night.

I was going to go to the event, but in one of Simmsys Powerplay articles he stated Andy French is presently working out the rules for the compertitionSorry to be negative, but my money went straight back in my pocket after that statement, as my confidence in the event evaporated. A man who doesnt seem to have a clue about the official rules of the game, the man who I would remind you is ultimatly responsible for the officals on the ice and their level of professionalism, being in charge of this compertition doesnt inspire. HL I hadn't read that Heanor. The major rules for the comp seem to have been set, unless they change their minds. Won't it be similar to a a tournament that has been played previously, with two periods of a running clock? I think I'll still go, though by the time the day is over I will probably be too drunk to care who has won the tournament.

I was thinking it could be 13 kilo's, he has lost, far more than 13 pounds that's for sure. I loved Jade's check at the end of the first period.

I don't think it was fixed, (apart from steelers being drawn out first) just kind of funny that those are the 4 ties, and in pretty much the order that I would have predicted. So Sheff, sorry steelers first up to ensure maximum rest between QF & SF, and SF and final assuming hull don't knock em out first!
How are tickets selling? I was waiting until the draw had been made before purchasing mine BTW.
and if hull ko sheff in QF 1, a fair few of the steelers fans may well go home, i guess they might come back to watch the final.

I though the sky coverage was decent enough, just muted the volume at certain times!!
So I hope that an agreement with sky can be reached.

about £50 return flying out saturday afternoon, returning monday morning to luton with easyjet.
or if you mean the Hotel, The Murrayfield is about £70 a night. The price of a twin room is barely more than a single room, so if I can persuade someone to tag along, then it doesn't work out too expensive.
I can get away with just take half a day flexi off work monday morning, as can return to work around midday if required.

Panthers should look to sign a "sharp" type character - i.e. a brit who can fight and if he can skate well that would be a bonus! There are a lot of good cage fighters (mma/ufc style I'm meaning btw) who live and/or train in Nottingham. I could give Corey a few names, just got to find out if any of them can skate and would be up for the challenge!
As for tomorrow's game, 5-4 to the panthers I predict, will be the first time I have seen the panthers this season so am really looking forward to the game.
I am just imagining Dan Hardy coming on for a shift in tomorrows game, going upto Mcmorrow and saying do you want some of me, and Mcmorrow running quickly back to the Giants bench scared.
Well it is currently early morning and I can't get back to sleep!

Cheers for the info "Outlaw."
I am thinking of flying from Luton airport to Edinburgh if I go. I'll check out the Murrayfield Hotel & I believe there is a travelodge near the Murrayfield rink.

sorry I can only predict "fixed" (I won't say rigged, and I'm only saying it in jest) ice hockey draws.
Though I will have a stab at tomorrow lottery numbers being 3, 5, 25, 27, 42, 44 , I had better make sure I get a ticket now.

It's just over 2 weeks away, and I believe it's Edinburgh's first home league game of the season.
Was just wondering who is going?
and if you are, where you are staying?
and who is going up on the Saturday, and back on the Monday to make a weekend of it? and by what method of transport?
How many fans do people estimate will be there supporting the panthers?
Unfortunately there isn't a double header like last season, so probably not that many panthers fans will go, especially as the fixtures were released late on. I am deciding over the weekend whether to go or not.
Also I remember last season there was someone with links to Edinburgh Capitals on the forum, advertising food and drinks deals. Does anyone know if the same deals will apply for the forthcoming fixture, and at which pubs?

Nope, just had a "wild" guess Steelers would be first out, and panthers wouldn't be in the same half of the draw.
Have the other 2 quarter finals been drawn yet? Panthers v Blaze?

I would rather not watch steelers tv though. Do we know what time are the balls being drawn, and what's the betting that panthers and steelers are in opposite halves of the draw.

I have a ticket for sale for the Nottingham Panthers v Steelers Charity Shield game on Wednesday 2nd September.
Please PM me if you would like to buy the ticket. It is in Block 4, about half way up.
I am selling it for £10, and can meet up in Nottingham City Centre to exchange it on Friday. or possibly Saturday.
Or I live in Arnold if that makes it easier.
Regards
Nick
