call me a pessamist but i dont have a good feeling about this. i cant see us losing by more than 1 or 2 if we do lose but i reckon they'll grab a win.
come on panthers please prove me wrong!

I fancy we ll lose this one by a odd goal or maybe a ot loss
If all 3 lines play well , we ll get a win , depends how JL plays

If we can get in JL's face we know we can score. i think it will have more to do with how Parley plays more than how Jody plays.

i'm not able to go to this game and being honest i'm not bothered as i've got 2 nhl games to go to whilst in canada instead, plus i won't need reconstructive knee surgery again.
This is a game that'll be decided by the netminders and defence as both teams seem to find the net easy enough so it'll be who performs better at the back imo.
If they let sharp of the leash i hope its bergin that deals with him, i'm a bit gutted at missing a potential second round of bruce vs finnerty.
I think it'll be a close game with panthers taking it 3-2, but tbh i don't care as long as i come home to news of another 4pt weekend.

After so many defeats at the Tin Shed, I now feel that I always have to go. For every ten defeats, the honking car horns, the singing when they're winning, the gobby brummie and the crap seats, whenever we win it is so much sweeter than all those bad things put together.
A win in this game is vitaly important psychologically, but I wouldnt know which way to call it.

Four straight road games? Who organised this one?

Four straight road games? Who organised this one? The Arena had Finding Nemo on Ice (it's easy, he's the orange, black and white one flopping about on the ice) last Saturday and Sunday, Adnan Sami this Saturday and the British Tae-Kwon Do Championships on Sunday.

panthers win 3-1 empty netter to make the third scored by bruce richardson i think molin and clarke with the other 2 goals bruce and finnerty round 2 in the first period. Sharpe and bergin in the third. Would pay double to see all of that happen but if it did what a game!

That would be nice But we have what could be a fairly gruelling match ourselves on Saturday night in Hull. With any luck, Corey and the team will simply out-play the Stingrays and be relatively fresh against Sheffield but I can't escape the feeling this one could bring us back to earth with a bump. Even if it does, we're still way above .500 hockey. I think it'll be another nail-biting evening with ih-update, I'm another who won't subject my legs to an evening in those seats. It's nice to think that while we've only won two league games against Steelers in the last few years, haven't they have been the last two league games? or did I miss another in Sheffield?

Its quite interesting that the natives on Steeltalk are quite negative about their side's chances in this one. Im thinking it will be a close one again but think we'll have too much for them up front and will say 5 - 3 to us.

In all honesty I think we have their number. We just need to be prepared mentally and avoid the period long lapses in concentration. Certainly have to take into account Sat's fixtures but I think i'd rather have an away fixture in Hull before taking on our fiercest rivlas rather than a trip to the early pacesetters and significantly more travelling.
As alluded to in earlier posts Parley has his chance to shine in this one. We've shown on numerous ocassions that, once rattled, Jooooodiiiiieee falls to pieces, we've got to makes sure we rattle him. Another one time rifle shot off the bar 10 seconds in from the Tess man should do it :-)
Looking forward to it more each day, Beats the England match anyway!

Every time we drive up there ya know we will win but the nearer to that dump ya get we start getting nervous and i think it also gets to the players so this time because we ARE better than them and the coach can this year make them BELIEVE and we WILL WIN (Tess to score more than one and a couple of assists)

Porper bricking it for this one, but Sheffield haven't been awe inspiring so far this season...but form goes out the window in games like this. Too close to call but I'll stick my neck out and go 3-2 loss unfortunately.

I think it'll be a close game, say 5-4. Think I'm edging it to Panthers just, but could quite easily be to Sheffield. Hopefully it'll be a cracking game anyway. My first trip up to Sheff. Is the beer any good?

We play Hull then Steelers, they play Giants and then us... last time we had a tough game beforehand and they had an easy one.
I see a 6-2 panthers win.

Ah, right - thanks, Tunster. I hadn't spotted that it was a CC game. I don't think Hull will be an easy game, though - I'm just hoping we can out-skate, out-shoot and out-score them because we have the speed and depth to do that. If we do, it might make it easier than it would be if we try and slug it out with them, that's all I was thinking. I don't think there's any such thing as an easy game this year... Much more fun! I still think Steelers/Panthers will be too close for comfort whoever wins it. I wouldn't be too surprised to see overtime.
