Any news on whether Ice Hockey will be back on Sky Sports this year?
My guess is No, because of lost sponsorship money/flights from BMI Baby etc
You would hope they are trying everything possible to get it on a tv channel though
and you also would of hoped they would of been in contact with ESPN as well.
all might come to nothing but you have to have a go

didnt we pay sky to show it last season? Yes we did. But I suppose it's what's in the kitty to start this season and what other ideas Elite have for this season, if any.

According to Simmsy nothing is agreed yet but they are confident. Is that the same confidence (from the EIHL) that we'd have a league sponsor again this season? Ooops... guess not! Or perhaps the same confidence (from Simms) that the Rother Valley project has all the funding in place and is definitely going ahead. Hmmm.... Sounds like a load of bull to me. Want to bet there's no EIHL on TV this season?

I though the sky coverage was decent enough, just muted the volume at certain times!!
So I hope that an agreement with sky can be reached.

i thought the sky coverage was excellent.
slow motion replays of things that happened off the puck, replays of goals etc, great commentary.
just because dave simms is heavily involved doesnt mean you automatically have to hate it. learn to think for yourselves and stop being mindless automatons.

I may give Buster a heart attack here, but... quite agree. ;D And even if you think that the Sky coverage wasn't the best... it's still a hell of a lot better than some of its predecessors, and infinitely better than nothing. As for DS the BS... that's what mute buttons were made for. Actually, that's probably what gags, shotguns and hastily-dug graves in the middle of nowhere were made for , but in your living room... the mute button works wonders.

I thought SKY's coverage was brilliant, lets face it we was never going to have the same quality of coverage the football gets

I didn't see any of the coverage myself, but a couple of my mates did and were very impressed and very happy to be able to watch some games they weren't able to get to.

what ruined the concept was the the full game re live, certain games with a couple of goals in it were just plain boring to watch, especially with the speed of the game here, it doesn t work , it would have been better if every game had extended highlights.

I fully agree. A match of the day style package would be far better.

I fully agree. A match of the day style package would be far better. That would be great, but to get a decent set of highlights you'd need a full set of Sky cameras at every game - at the minute they usually just have limited one angle coverage from the other games and full coverage from the main game. I think the sky programme is very good considering the money that goes into it. I have often had a lot of bad stuff to say about DS but I believe the sky programme is much of his own doing and for that I applaud him without hesitation, it's exactly what the sport needs as we try to get the message out to a wider audience.

From the Sky Sports page, Dave Simms comments on the coming Season. He is still down on Teams with British Netminders. Time will tell. Full story here Sky Sports

Has a team ever won the elite league with a British GK?

No but Lyle took Cardiff to the ISL title, which therefore makes the reasoning behinds Simms's comments somewhat flawed

Frank Caprice played all of the B&H Cup games, so I'm guessing that Caprice started the season, turned out to be a lemon (they lost to us in the B&H quarters) and Lyle took over. No but Lyle took Cardiff to the ISL title, which therefore makes the reasoning behinds Simms's comments somewhat flawed No change there, then...

SKY haven't given us a time yet. I guess the same as last year, the first 4 weeks we were all over the place and then we settled into a regular time.
