I doubt it (from the usual suspects) you see what happens when you tighten up on D !!

I think the Mann/gascon/dalgleish line could be the darkhorse line who ll end up getting alot of points come the end of the year

Decent performance from Panthers but did anyone else think that that was the dullest, most lack lustre first game of the season EVER?
If the season carries on like that, then not many first timers will come back for a second game -and if that's happening at every club then that's not good news for the league. The Elite league has just become totally devoid of characters and entertainers - and the league themselves are the only ones to blame for that.
I predict McMorrow will not reach November based on tonight. What's the point in a player like that in this boring league? He'll probably die of boredom before long anyway.

St. Pierre had a much better game tonight, the penalty kill was good but the power play looked very impressive.
lets see if this carries on.
very disappointed that St. Pierre didnt fight anyone like his stats hinted at.

St. Pierre looked a completly different keeper tonight! Movement was good, good reactions and kept holes to a minimum.
All players played well and all did their jobs as good as can be expected after only a week or two together. Galbraith looks completly different too, lazy turned hard-working and gritty with a much better shot.
Belfast look to be made attack focused again, fast and good on the break-out... although shooting isnt a strong point. McMorrow had a fantastic game, how many seconds was he on the ice? 5? haha. Seeing as theres a lack of enforcers in the league this year, another more effective player maybe called upon sooner rather than later.

when did mcmorrow loads? once at then end when he got 6 mins of pens...he was never on the ice hardly anyother time!! as for a enforcer neah we don't need one sure bergy d'amour or brucie could do the job why waste a import slot as for tonights game....thought st.pierre had a good game unlucky on the goal he gave up..anyone else see the article about him in the program having only having 9 fingers!!

Have to agree with dp. Until the little scrap I wasn't so interested. Seemed to get the crowd going too. Thought D'amour had a good game. Corey had settled a bit but still made mistakes, not throwing punches here and there tonight so not taking stupid penalties so I suppose thats a bonus. Still not excited about the team yet, before you jump on my comments I know its game 1 but I hope to see the spark soon.

Excellent performance from KSP tonight pre season games obviously blew out the cobwebs and allowed him to get used to the new pads could of been man of the match in my book, Belfast look handy on the puck just lacked the finishing touch tonight, Murphy was poor tonight and isn't a championship keeper on tonights form by a long stretch.
Mann looked good tonight although sometime too smart for other on the team making little drop passes they don't expect
Gascon looks excellent on the puck and passes well should certainly pick up alot of assists this season
All told a decent performance although the keepers were the real difference tonight!
Be interesting to see how we do against Coventry tomorrow as looking at tonights results they will be our main challenge this year!

though KSP was good tonight, as was D'Amour. all round a decent performance have to agree though the game was lacking something, no real spark and it wasn't very exciting.

But all in all a decent first game. Also when McMorrow was sat in the box all he kept saying to us behind the penalty bench was where was Bergin so it seems Bergin could have his hands full when we next meet belfast.

McMorrow is injured at the minute that's why he was not playing any pre season games.. I'm surprised he was dressed tonight, but with Thornton out as well I think the Giants must of wanted him on the bench at least..

Thought it was great to start off with a win, fair enough not the greatest game in the world but like pidge says better to win boring than lose entertaining. Thought we played 100% better than on Wednesday and KSP was great. I said he was crap on Wednesday but my humble pie is tasting great at the moment. Long may it continue. The story about how he lost his finger was horrid!
Jade version 2.0 is great, he is so much better than last season and i'm so glad he has come back and not the original one. His shot which hit the bar was amazing and his vision is great. Marty Gascon is a brilliant replacement for Tess, love that bloke. Great skill and he wins faceoffs. Nice to see Stephen Lee fight, nice victory and he deserved it.
McMorrow, will be gone by Christmas unless he can score points. He didn't ice in the 2nd period, came on in the 3rd and was so stupid, no need to go and have a pop at Ferrara and got the 6mins he deserved. What a so and so.
Roll on tomorrow

ok now to the game, KSP was good but as one game doesn't make him rubbish so one game doesn't make him great after, he showed a lot of promise and maybe the reason Corey got him, Jade I was impressed again and young Lee a real feisty youngman and will be a favourite here! Meyers best game in a long time, Gascon oozes class, and really could not find a bad performance in the whole team, only slight grumble why wasn't KSP MoM. tomorrow will be a harder test after Coventry fans stuffed shuff in their miden!

I have no complaints about that game at all. I don't know why some people are calling it "boring"... it may not have been the #1 Most Exciting Game Ever (TM), but there was plenty to watch... some goals, some good plays and some dodgy mistakes from both teams, plenty of checking, even a non-enforcer fight (Stephen Lee doing us proud).
Oh yeah... and KSP showing that he really isn't the total loser that some have already made him out to be.
Sure... neither team looked as well-drilled and coordinated as we might expect later in the season, but like it or not that's how it usually is at the start of the season. At least it was even that way. And a 4-1 win when we're not playing at our best, and with an import down... I'll take that and smile.
Nice to see the team throwing their bodies around a fair bit... Cameron Mann looking a lot more active than on Wednesday... D'Amour certainly impressed me... Jade 2.0 didn't seem to have a huge impact on the game, but was working nicely. Liking Ross Dalgleish too.
By the way... where was this terrifying meat-grinder called McMorrow that was supposed to ride totally rough-shod over us and cost us the game (not to mention several hospitalised players) because we apparently aren't tough enough? I mean... there was this big guy wearing a shirt that said McMorrow, but this can't be the same Prince Of Darkness (TM), can it?
Good start, Panthers... a bit of tweaking and tightening up, but apart from that - more of the same, please!

The Penalty kill was awesome tonight.. really tight and we commited to clearing the zone in anyway we could succesfully.. The power play too was impressive. The game lacked Atmosphere imo and had a very dull 2nd period. Well donr to Stephen Lee... Stuck up for himself and got the better of the encounter with Morrison.. Well done lads! 2points in the bag..

A good win which was pretty comfortable in the end,i felt we just had too much fire power for Murphy to and the Giants D to deal with,to be honest we could of had 1 or 2 more on another night.
The Belfast offence was pretty dire, they had some great chances but really couldnt hit a cows backside with a banjo tonight, how many times did they fan on the puck with the goal gaping!?
St Pierre made some big saves and the whole D looked tighter and more compact...Lee gave Morrison some good punches...i seem to recall Morrison getting battered by Paul Moran a few seasons a go here as well.
I was quite entertained by tonights game,it wasnt 'boring' like some others have said but wasnt 100mph either...a 4-1 win...i'll take that over 7-6 exciting loses thanks.
Game music apart from the new track instead of Nightmare was pants again...the new goal sponsor...oh dear totally ruins the flow of the music...agghhh so many adverts!!!!!
