It's just over 2 weeks away, and I believe it's Edinburgh's first home league game of the season.
Was just wondering who is going?
and if you are, where you are staying?
and who is going up on the Saturday, and back on the Monday to make a weekend of it? and by what method of transport?
How many fans do people estimate will be there supporting the panthers?
Unfortunately there isn't a double header like last season, so probably not that many panthers fans will go, especially as the fixtures were released late on. I am deciding over the weekend whether to go or not.
Also I remember last season there was someone with links to Edinburgh Capitals on the forum, advertising food and drinks deals. Does anyone know if the same deals will apply for the forthcoming fixture, and at which pubs?

With the lack of a double header this year,. I'm making just one Edinburgh trip on January 3rd and staying on for the week.
Will be partaking in the Belfast double header to make up for it.
There was also a bit of an issue this year with flight times as the advertised schedule got you into Edinburgh very late for the fixture. I was told that the timetable was liable to change at some point but i don't know how true this is.
The pub you are thinking of is the Castle Arms on Johnson terrace behind the Castle,.. they were one of the Caps sponsors,. I don't know if they still are.
There are many places to stay but one of the most popular is the Murrayfield Hotel and Lodge which is directly across the road,.. Good lodgings with a fine bar and decent food.

Cheers for the info "Outlaw."
I am thinking of flying from Luton airport to Edinburgh if I go. I'll check out the Murrayfield Hotel & I believe there is a travelodge near the Murrayfield rink.

about £50 return flying out saturday afternoon, returning monday morning to luton with easyjet.
or if you mean the Hotel, The Murrayfield is about £70 a night. The price of a twin room is barely more than a single room, so if I can persuade someone to tag along, then it doesn't work out too expensive.
I can get away with just take half a day flexi off work monday morning, as can return to work around midday if required.

NP There are a couple of hotels about 400 yards away from the rink, if you go onto onto Laterooms .com you can get get a good deal, think I paid £50 B&B last year. Im not making the trip this year, unfortunatly quite a few £1000 spent of the house this year means missing a few games, but I'll be making at least 1 trip to Belfast (its the law ;D). HL

The unhelpful BMiBaby flights means that we have to drive up, and plan to stay at the Holiday Inn.
A good way to spend a birthday :-)

I have found some good value accom about 5-10 mins walk from the arena. it was about 40 quid for a single room. thanks for your help guys in answering my questions.
who else is going up for the game, and who will be staying over sunday night? I will be pretty drunk by the end of Sunday, as will be drinking from about 1pm.
