Can't quite understand the running of this sport. We get put down for complaining but when you look at the official Elite sites CUP table and see differing 'games played' by certain teams. Then you see that my stats ARE correct according to fixtures still to be played. You wonder what the point is the governing body getting defensive about things when you email them...by and large no reply - eg) what's with the Fife fixture list on THEIR site? Pct data is also incorrect for some teams in the conference stats. Advised them by Twitter 3 times. Just One response, saying it is not a stat they use and probably due to it losses or something. Wrong data is worse than no data imo but they don't seem bothered.

eliteleague.co.uk/view/eliteicehockey/latest-news/news_495103Braehead Clan head coach John Tripp says new signing Michal Gutwald has the attributes to fit into his team. The 24-year-old defenceman will arrive in Glasgow and is expected to feature in their Elite League match at Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday. And Tripp said the Czech Republic native was a player he wanted as soon as he knew of his availability. “We’ve been looking at various different options for a while now and when Michal became available we decided to make a move” said Tripp. “He’s a big body and we’ve been looking for some size to go at the backend, he’s young, wants to win and that’s something we’ve been looking to add. “Michal will arrive from Prague tonight, will train the next two days and will be in the line-up at Edinburgh on Saturday.” Gutwald arrives after a season with MsHK Zilina is Slovakia, where he made 36 appearances, scoring once. He ended 2016/17 with HK Michalovce, where he featured in their play-off campaign, playing eight times. But Tripp says that may not be all as he looks to bolster his team, who have been inconsistent so far this season. He added: “I said after Sunday’s game we obviously aren’t happy with where we are. We’re always looking for the players that we believe can make this team better.”

Nice bit from Chris Ellis on the Beeb: m.bbc.co.uk/sport/ice-hockey/41788910Didn't realise they'd signed the Korpedo. Interesting at the end too, that leg 2 will be streamed live on the BBC. Good stuff. I'm sure colin on bbc just said that tomorrow is on red button bottom of article.... "Both legs will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website, BBC Sport app and Connected TVs on Tuesday, 31 October and Tuesday, 7 November."

11:00 on Friday, Free Sports are showing it live also it'll be online. I'm guessing, we want either a Czech or the Austrian team? This is doing my head in. I have freeview and I assume its on channel 95 but I can't seem to tune this in. Am I short of something other than a brain on technical stuff. Ch 95 on freeview. Ch 252 I think on freesat ? I guess you may need to do another auto retune, tho it just appeared on mine tho I did do a retune update about a month earlier.

FWIW GB is up to 8th in the CHL rankings currently... And the Panthers are up to 40th in all-time CHL history. CHL Rankings Wow, and wow. Stats bring up some things don't they. GB presently showing some muscle, hopefully it will also bode well in the future. Panthers currently also sitting 5th of the 32 on average attendance for the competition.

Well you seem to know nothing about injuries. I don't no. Because I'm not a medical expert But I'm not stupid either. And I'm fed up of the team I support playing short, doing absolutely nothing about it and seeing the same thing happen again and again and again, year after year. Meanwhile,we watch our main rivals replace injured players at the drop of a hat ! Taking out the u23s, don't we have a squad of 20 meaning we are running with a spare? (I think gospel is classified as a senior)

When is Brisebois back? Is there any info on his return? I think when he is fit to return, one of our over-23 Brits or another import will need to sit out as I believe we have a total of 20 in that category and only 19 of those can ice (+ up to 3 u23's if the 19 is maxed out)

Was happy, and still happy, that we gave Gospel the ice-time for this, even though we didn't the W. CC qualifying rounds is definitely the right option to assist his development, and to give Garnett a break from what will be a long season ahead.

For a supposedly injury-ravaged, short-handed team, Sheffield still managed to ice 19 outskaters tonight (we had 18) including a full set of 14 imports (we had 13). More bovine excrement coming out of the mouths of Them Up The M1? My count makes 13 imports for Sheffield, same as us. Within their 19 outsketers that did have their young-guns - kirk, shudra and brown, and obviously we had Ollie. Fairly even-matched i'd say.

The Manchester Storm received news on Friday that General Manager, Neil Russell, has been offered a fantastic new opportunity with Manchester City FC and would be moving on from his current role. The Storm ownership group had the following to say: “Firstly, what an incredible opportunity for Neil. As an ownership group we would like to thank Neil for all of his hard work here these past two years with the Storm and we wish him all the very best in his exciting new role.” Neil Russell had the following to say: “It is with mixed emotions that I announce that I will be moving on from my GM role with the Manchester Storm in 2 weeks’ time. I have been offered an incredible opportunity in a senior management role with Manchester City FC that I simply could not turn down. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped me these past two years at the Storm, it has been the most incredible time in my life and filled me with so much pride to see what we have achieved as a club in such a short space of time. I won’t be a stranger at the Storm Shelter, so I look forward to seeing the team in action at various stages this upcoming season and watching the growth of the club continue with very solid foundations having been laid these past two years. There are so many people to thank, so I will be putting out a personal thank you post later today. Doesn't gospel fall into the over 23s? .... Edit, it looks like he qualifies as u23 being born in 1994.

What's the record for goals conceded in an EIHL game.... about 15 is it ? 😉 Lol Back in 2010/11 - ish we beat vipers 15-0 ... only then for the return match to be beat by them 6-5. Seem to have a vague memory of either us or steelers putting 19 past Caps around that time too.

Is my memory playing ricks on me, but do we always seem to finish we a flurry of away games? If so, is there usually something going off at the NIC that stops us getting weekend dates?
