I do wish some people could be a bit more gracious in their comments.

With the latest announcements and regs potentially upto 6 months do we think next season hangs in the balance? Depends on the availability of vaccines and medication I would say.

The cloud was he was JB's mate and CN didn't have to contact GM to sack him Didn’t look out if his depth in this league or any other, for me. JB? Suspect its a typo >JG > Jade Galbraith. IIRC rumours had it there was an alcohol induced broken curfew mid-double-header in Belfast

I think the simple answer to this is “you go home, look on the internet and see what else you can buy for the cost of a Panthers season ticket next summer” Saturday night is now date night for us, a couple of nice steaks and bottles of wine, and a relaxing night in just chatting. No hurry to get back to hockey until I hear the excitement has returned.

even if it was the case and the same situation happened to Sheffield, can you honestly say they would have handled it any different? Because I don’t think they would have Well if Sheffield had handled it I’d guess they would have said something like “The Steelers would have liked Robert to stay and whilst he had an option in his contract to remain in Sheffield for a second year,he has chosen not to take up that option and is looking to persue his hockey career elsewhere. We thank Robert for his service and wish him well wherever he plays in the future. But no....the Panthers couldn’t do that, they just got arsey, had a dig and tried to make out Farmer was breaking his contract. Typical of the Nottingham Panthers. Not so sure that Sheffield’s media man is always as diplomatic as that iginla.

Rheult should be a 20 goal scorer if he stays healthy the whole year. For the 3rd line that's a good thing to have ... Here is the complete list of players who have had 20-goal seasons for the Panthers, in the past 5 seasons 2018-19 Guptill 34 2018-19 Pither 22 2017-18 Mokshantsev 21 2016-17 2015-16 Kolnik 28 2014-15 And in the four seasons prior to that, we had 19 players who had 20+ goal seasons. Somehow we went from a team who had 4 or 5 20+ goal scorers EVERY season, to a team who have a total of 4 players who manage that milestone, in 5 seasons. I think Rheault can produce more than he did - certainly in pre-season he was looking great until his injury. But Panthers somehow, cannot get star players to score at the rate you might expect at other clubs. Remember Josh Shalla? THREE league goals in half a season for us, and then 59 goals in less than 2 seasons when he returned to Indy Fuel. So it might be uncomfortably closer to the truth to say "Rheault should be a 20 goal scorer at any of the other EIHL clubs" Does this align to pretty much when we started running a regular 4th line, ... reducing ice time for the top players, and likely reducing wages from top 3 lines to fund the 4th line?

Maybe make it a fun 3v4 game, such as football in ice, zorbs or it's a knockout type game ... entertainment based rather than an attempt at serious competition.

Change of plan, I've been denied by the current Mrs Jord v4.... Not for the first time as well.... Enjoy the victory to those who are attending. She has your, and those of the panthersnation, interest at heart. Smart woman.

I've no idea what the set up is in reality but in my simplistic view, the bench or the on ice players can call for a change but I would have thought, for example the centre coming on would be responsible for responding to the centre coming off, similarly for the wingers and defenceman... they should be watching the one they are to replace?

How do they figure out who gets the places, points percentage? Ok, this may seem a little complicated in places. The bottom teams in the 4 team groups automatically are out. This takes you down to 9 teams. The results of the other teams in these groups get readjusted, so say your team beat the bottom team twice they will then loose those 4 points.. The teams who win each of the groups will be the first three seeds based on points, all the other teams will then be seeded 4-9 based on points, after the readjustments, with the team finishing 9th being eliminated. It will then be 1v8, 2v7, 3v6 and 4v5 in the quarter finals. Hope this had made sense Slightly wrong on the last bit Harlan, ... By finishing ranked first after the qualification stage of the competition the highest seeded team has earned the right to choose its opposition from the teams placed fifth to eight. The second placed team picks next from the team left in the 5-to-8-group, then the third placed team picks from the teams left and finally, the team placed fourth after the qualification stage plays the team that has not been picked yet. Home Ice option remains with the first to fourth placed team.

Fife on fire and no one giving them a mention. Giants blaze and steelers are to inconsistent at the moment Devils panthers just keep winning. Blaze (and fife) have not lost a league game in regulation as yet, taking 7pts from a possible 8. I doubt this is sustainable, but it is a decent start to their, and Fife’s, league campaign.

Simple answer to that.......increase your budget ! It’s not like we couldn’t afford it. … but it still comes down to 'budget+X' …. a £££number - and then the choice of 14 better skaters or 16 less of slightly lesser quality. You could also make an argument for going with less than 14 imports … but raising the calibre.

The old quantity v quality trade off. No doubt there is a fixed budget. Increase your import count from 14 to 15 or 16 and those additional wages will take away from what you can offer the first 14, which may result in downgrades.

To be fair i'm not sure it's the case this time. Absoloutly we did in both games at the weekend. This time both goals have been PP goals and I think the penalties were unfortunate as opposed to dumb. Says even for the first and PP for 2nd on Elite game sheet Players sharing the goals again too. Rick Strachan down as asst.Coach the first goal has now been corrected to PP

I don't really don't get all the angst over this. Sometimes within my workplace management identify a need for someone to do particular activity, which isn't a full or possibly even part-time role in its own right (it might only be a few hours a week), then they look within the personnel available to them and see if they can work something out. DGs role growth is not necessarily anything to do with who he knows, it simply could be that he has been identified as the best person . skills and time-wise, to take on the new activities without taking in extra employees/overheads.
