Is this 1-4 stuff the system credited to Strachs? I believe so, yes. And - despite this last disappointing weekend - it appears to have been working well. It makes sense, too. With the moving of the blue lines further towards the middle, the defensive zone has been increased in size - meaning that the defence have a greater responsibility and need to be more mobile. Notice that Corey & Strachs appear to have recruited with that in mind - no big lumbering D-men this season. The 1-4 system is a logical result as well. It would be interesting to see the points split since we changed tactics for the games on the larger ice with the changed blue line, compared to the smaller rinks (Coventry, Hull) where we have dropped points.

Robinson would have had a hat full more points if Lawrence had connected with a very small percentage of the passes he received from Robbo, when in a good position to shoot.
I would have loved to see him back, but also appreciate that if he had signed when he did his Evening Post interview, that we would not have Doucet, and maybe not Cohen as well.

Does anyone have any idea why Olaf from Frozen is next to Paws in this picture? Its the Braehead mascot. Top of the league, you're having Olaf

The thing that worries me most, is that Ken still looks quite ill, and we might end up with Big Mouth Moran on the mike on Saturday

Unless Belfast have the players to keep up with his speed and mind like he often was here, he'll be looking around for support or doing laps of the net waiting for people to catch up. Assuming one of the other two forwards would be either Keefe or Westgarth (who I think would make way if they are full strength), it might be an issue.

Whilst it should not be happening as much, I think part of it is down to the injuries on our defence.
With unsettled lines, and rotating players I can see why it is happening more than it should be.

Deadline is end of the week.
I would imagine his enforcer, mr westgarth, will most likely be the one dropped for him.
Here's for an interesting playoff pairing of Belfast v Cardiff. .

Was Oakford dropped in the 3rd? He came out after his catastrophic giveaway but I didn't see him in the 3rd? Not sure. I thought it was a poor pass to him by Cohen though, that put him in trouble straight away. Both Cohen and Oakford had opportunities to clear the zone.

I thought we were very poor tonight. Turned up for the first and then just cruised.
Face offs were shocking, and in the third I can only remember one that we won.
Not seen as many Panthers fans leave before the handshakes had finished for a long while.
No idea who got man of the match for us, but it probably was not deserved.

Well done panthers, whoever let that highlight package get put on the internet need sacking. There is only one angle that shows Cohen kick out at brookwell and it didnt need to be included in the video so the panthers have managed to get their own player suspended for a massive game So its ok to edit the game videos that get sent to the DOPS then? There is only one person to blame here, and thats the player.

It's because leaving the bench would normally result in a ban, although that does make me wonder why they didn't give a match penalty in the first place. Thats an easy one to answer......they have no clue!

what was it like? would you take your missus? Took the family and it was unpleasant... They beat us in the semi finals I think At least you would not have had to watch the team celebrate right in front of you.

Lawrence hasn't always played well but when he does he scores important goals. I would say that Lawrence scores important goals irrespective of whether he has had a good or bad game! No doubt he has an eye for goal, but if he was connecting with a quarter of the one-timers he attempts on powerplays, then he probably would not be playing in our league. Touches of brilliance harnessed with a lack of awareness at times. Undoubtedly though, he is our go to guy when we need a goal (although some may argue Doucet), and Sheffield have already said they need to close him down on Saturday.

Just moving the debate along a little differently.
If Clan do win the league does anyone think Black would take them into Europe?
My two bobs worth are that I think he won't, although I think he would take Panthers in.
Secondly, if Clan do go in, they would put back the reputation that has been built this season by the Panthers, with the exception of having a good and supportive fan base.
Could anyone see much of this Clan team taking on Europes top teams without being hammered?

I thought the officiating was not really that bad last night. Seen far worse this season.
Overall a very good character win. We know the team will keep going, must be duracell batteries.

We had multiple injuries last year with Henley, Oreskovic and Salters in the line up. It's more luck of the draw than anything. Not long term ones caused by opponents taking cheap shots tho. Lynn Loyns injury was from a dirty hit in Assiago. When we had Penner, him running Coventry's netminder ultimately ended up with Kowalski getting nailed. Doug Clarkson has been out with concussion this season, yet they have plenty of players prepared to drop the gloves. I agree that it can be a deterrent to a degree, but it will not stop everything.

An online game similar to Age of Empires, and probably Clash of Clans (although I think Empire came first). Free to play (unless you want to fast track), and online at Empire

It was not the ice surface that was no good, the hole for the net moorings had not been drilled deep enough. Funnily though, it got drilled again ready for the third period when Stewart was in that net....
