I believe that it was 9th October 2010, the Steelers won 4-1. So, 4 1/2 years ago. I reckon some of you are being a bit too pessimistic. Welcome to the Cage.

I think we have had this rumour about Corey leaving every season since he has been coach.

Do not think we will win this game, and tbh do not think we will progress either. Was trying to find odds on betting websites but I guess they will not go on until tomorrow? Bwin publish on the day, but have not done any CC games this season.

Good young players, like these two, will get better ice time at some of the other clubs than Panthers. Maybe we could sign one, but having 2 or 3 of the most talented youngsters is unlikely to do their long term prospects much good.
I would have loved to have seen more of them this season, and over the longer term, buy a young player has to make sure they will be progressing.

The point I was making is that the three Brits we lost would have been far more expensive in total than the three we replaced them with. In your 3 you've got Weaver and Meyers, the former replaced the latter, never played on the same roster. I think it's also fair to say that the likes of Lee and Lacho will have had hefty increases over the last few years as well.

I don't much fancy going to Belfast in the play off quarter finals ! Giants have lost nine out of eleven. Not much between us at the moment.

Robinson 2 goals and 1 assist last night and 1 goal tonight and still playing In a home defeat to Capitals and an overtime defeat to Steelers with Woolhouse in goal. I would love to see him again in a Panthers shirt, but one point out of eight since he signed there.

I hope we get decent officials tonight. Ones that will let the game flow to an extent, but nail down on the cheap shots that we all know will happen.

Amazing coincidence! Clan pick up major bans to 2 players in the week that Sheffield become the biggest threat to their league title aspirations *Off to find my tin hat now* It's a shame Steelers have a netminding issue... Both Clan players will miss the Panthers game on Friday

About time those thugs got punished.
Shows how bad our officials are as well as Fitzgerald had one cross check penalty and one roughing penalty in the game.

Some edge of the seat stuff, but a good road game.
Shame we could not have got a few more shots on Woolhouse in the third.
The officials were back in the 90's again allowing clutch and grab.

I certainly wouldn't have been paying for the webcast if it was on the radio. I would choose the webcast first if I could not get to the game, even if it were on the radio.

But is a big crowd on a Saturday more likely to lift the team than a half empty rink on a Thus or Sunday?

So, two places in next seasons revised format. First and second in the league will qualify. Play off winners will get a place in the Continental Cup, and if they are one of the top two sides in the league, then third in the league will get it. CHL LinkPanthers, Braehead, Belfast, Sheffield and Cardiff have all confirmed they will take a place if they qualify.

Just thinking about this as well, is it best to play in front of a half empty stadium with little atmosphere on a Thurs night, or close to a sell out on a Saturday with a noisier crowd?

We might finish 5th, in which case we would not have home advantage.

If the officals clamped down on all the cheap shotting (like they are meant to), then it would stop.
Sure the first few games when they call it will be quite lengthy, buy coaches will start benching the players who are continually sent to the sin bin.
Some of the games this season have been a throw back ten years to when clutch and grab used to be allowed.
