Not an old boy of the team or league, although I'm surprised he wasn't signed back in the enforcer days, but www.eliteprospects.com/player/14184/jeremy-yablonski has just signed for Idaho in the ECHL after a SIX year non playing gap. They must need his 'skills' pretty bad. 'played' one game, no points, pim's, and was duly released.

I rate Lane more than Welsh. You watch a different game to me then. Lane clearly has some ability. He is quick and stick handles pretty well. Problem is he does that from his own goal to the offensive hash markings, as soon as he gets there he just melts. To me he does look a player that could be a good contributor on the 3rd line with a strong top 6 above him. Our 3rd line to start the season should've looked something like, Boivin, Lane, Domingue. Obviously playing well can see those players move up during the season but there should've been another 4 or 5 better players on this team. Welsh looks a clear top 6 forward to me. As i've said before, hes a Cameron Mann type. Does a lot of the simple things really well. The class is obvious. Don't watch a different game, but maybe watch the game in a different way, or look for different things. Agree, Welsh should be a top line player but his speed of thought isn't matched by that in his legs. And he's not much use on the forecheck, often getting to the puck carrier when he's passed it on. With his cv maybe I'm expecting more. I see Lane as a more physical Boivin, not the biggest but won't shy away, and always looking to make a play. But like Boivin, can often go a while before getting the puck in a place where he can do something with it. Still, I'll look closely at Welsh next game (if he's still here !)

I suspect Welch will be a good bet. Well if he leaves they may as well disband.. he's the only decent player on the roster I rate Lane more than Welsh.

Can't blame them, they need to protect the integrity of the league, will be interesting to see who sends the best quality of players. I would guess those that still play in their National leagues, Russians, Czechs, Finns, Sweden.

not impressed by him. Obviously thought it was going to be a walk in the park over here, 'I'm a dman but I don't like doing the nitty gritty stuff, I much prefer swanning off up the right wing and going hard to the net'. Wish him well for the future.

Wallace didn't inspire me as a coach. When he was appointed I thought it was on the basis of him making the best of a limited squad at MK, but he hasn't got the best out of this season's squad, even allowing for injuries etc. It's unfortunate, that so many things this season conspire but I guess he's just another victim of the Nottingham 'curse'. Better to have acted now than let it drag on. Doucet will certainly have his work cut out in the next few weeks. Draw the line and let's move on.

Just seen on Twitter Broll has left the blaze to be a firefighter in Canada! Only played five games this season. Went back in November to complete the process so I guess only came back just in case it didnt go through.

I do feel somewhat for Carr, of the goals yesterday, only the 5th (or maybe 6th, there were too many!) when a weak spin shot from Lake trickles through, was a particularly weak play from him. Most other goals were to an open man back door, with their 3rd I think, sneaking though a lot of traffic. It's a similar story most of the season. He has a tendency to let in the odd stinker, but I'd say for every one of those, there are 3 or 4 criminally bad defensive breakdowns, half of which he can't stop. He could be a league winning goalie if you put a league winning team in front of him. But he's not a goalie who will consistently steal you games when you have a team of misfits out front. Could we do better than him? Sure, but given the shambles in the rest of the lineup, I don't think he's a priority to replace. Very much rearranging deck chairs on the titanic. I don't see Matheson and Tetlow as a particularly solid d pairing. Both are slow and Josh seems to have developed a tendency to overplay in his own end.

This is the same Welsh who on a 3 on 1 break managed to not find either of his open team mates with a pass, who gave a Giant 5yards start when defending and still got beaten to the puck.

He looks a good player, plenty of goals at similar levels to ours. I think he’d be a good signing for us, so long as we signed another player who can bring some physicality and stand up for the team. And he played with Welsh at Fischtown

Six year gap isn't it? That seems quite a bizarre move. Edited OP

Is it wrong that I'm nostalgic for a simpler time when players "laced up their skates" rather than an era where entire teams are now... "laced into COVID19 protocol" "Nottingham ended 2021 with a 5-3 home win against Manchester, who filled in the fixture earlier on Friday when Coventry were laced into COVID19 protocol." www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/1931-panthers-end-2021-with-home-winThey have to be secured though, we don't want them escaping until their isolation period is over

Yes he’s sort of got to win the next two games to avoid a disastrous Christmas. Clan’s coach seems to be in the same boat too though,he was saying about his players “it’s my way or the highway” a while ago and they’ve kept losing since but nothings happened on their roster. I blame Neil Black not giving them the backing they need. Wasn't "Highway" an old Scottish soap opera? He played on the left wing for Liverpool in the 70's

Just listened to the interview with Wallace...he said this win feels like a loss and we aren't playing as a team. Interesting comments after a pretty comfortable home win. It seems a lot of fans think we are playing to the best of their ability but TW obviously thinks otherwise. Kelsall...what a goal Was like listening to a Corey interview, it's what he didn't say that you focus on. 'Things have got to change' or ... what will happen if they don't? Wholesale changes, at this stage of the season ? Bringing in more like Thow, Jokinen, Richards ? Or does the coach feel under threat. I've got so used to the level of performance this season that last night I quite enjoyed the energy, and the goals. But we are ragged in our own end and look like conceding at any time. Lane and Boivin work really hard and deserve to have better players around them.Yes, We are four players missing but will they return as impact players or just bodies. As usual, the next game against a decent team (Belfast) will show where we are at.

Nice of Ginn to throw one in his net, returning the one Thow kicked in earlier.

In my opinion-its good to see the clubs and league going to such lengths to get matches on. Rather than in other sports where covid, 'lengthy injury list' and fixture congestion are offered up as reasons NOT to play

Blaze no longer playing in this game today!!!! Panthers will face somebody though, yet to be announced!😂 Manchester. Although I hear there might be enough security staff at the arena to put a team out. Not sure if they can all skate though.
