Think the final year we played the Germans first in the smaller rink then played Amiens and the University in the bigger rink I’m talking the first time in Amiens when we played Milan, Llublijana and Amiens. The Slovenians turned up with a couple of NHLers who had dodgy registration, GM objected so they couldn’t play and that’s why the Slovenians threw their last game and thus knocked Panthers out. Yes that year we only played in the one arena. That was Continental Cup, later trips were all pre season

Just watching Rouen v Tappara, 2nd leg, 3-3 from first leg, 0-0 after1, all Tappara. Reminds me of Panthers v Bern. Wouldn't be surprised if Rouen steal it.Remember going to Rouen to watch Panthers. Rouen was a great trip, much better than that awful rink in Amiens that looked like it should have been a swimming pool. The B rink they used cos the main got so hot it couldnt freeze. It was so warm tha weekend.

As Carr was replaced in Belfast due to an injury, if he's not going to be fit for the weekend do we go with Kerlin or look to get replacement in

At times he looks like Bambi on ice, at times he looks hesitant to throw a check as if he doesn't want to deal with the outcome, at times he's caught looking round trying to keep up with the play. BUT,he's 100% better than when he joined us, he doesn't panic with the puck, he hits a great outlet pass, has a great shot, can join in the play (as per his goal v Clan), and uses his long arms well for an effective poke check. And he's difficult to fight against. Keep it up Josh ! (A bit more muscle and nastiness and we won't need to sign Chara!)

Chase Schaber leaves the Fliers having never actually joined the team this year. "We signed Chase with the hope that he would have returned to our lineup this season however due to some administrative complications this has not worked out." Never a great sign when the statement ultimately ends "No further comment will be made by the club" fifeflyers.co.uk/66_statementchaseschaber.htmlGone to ASC Corona Brasov in Romania

I'm amazed at the speed at which the fan navigated his way down the flight of stairs! The fan was ready to go😂I don’t think McNally’s done a whole lot wrong though, he’s probably been a bit over aggressive trying to get at the stars player on the ground. He’s not deliberately attacked an official, his push on Dow as he skates off would be a 2 min minor during play, a Stars fan then throws a can at him and comes running down from the stands but nothing came of it. The officials did well to stop McNally from getting at the Stars players who wanted none of it. I can see DOPS giving him a ban for being over aggressive and still going whilst a linesman has got between them. Fans can’t keep calling for massive bans though and then moan about how the game is becoming so dull. Stop press - Dops say, McNally-no case to answer. DOPS joint spokesmen Nat Mickerson and Eric Campbell say 'we didnt see a lot wrong to be honest. In fact we think McNally ought to be player of the week for standing up for himself and his team. We would have done the same thing.'

they signed four forwards at the same time so probably just hedging their bets. Only two of the four were forwards, and the other three players were only loan deal signings so don't think he's a hedging their bets signing. He's the only one permanently added to their books of the four stand corrected.

More the fool the new club for signing him? Or just release him if found positive on the count of using substance? they signed four forwards at the same time so probably just hedging their bets.

DeLuca moves to Trois-Rivières Lions Did he ever receive an actual ban rather than just a suspension ? If not is that why he's free to continue playing back home, or do the ECHL not recognise our punishment.

Why not do it at the end of the game, when the ice doesn't need re-conditioning. If it takes 20 minutes to clear after first goal or end of 1st period, the game will end after 10pm. It doesn't bear thinking about. I'll get my coat..

Yes, perfectly fair comment and we are injury effected. My memory of the 16/17 squad was slightly better than their stats. The other team I did think of was the 05/06 Blaisdell Panthers once Tessier left. They were a hard working team, no stars but people who didn't mind throwing checks and put some points on the board. Cote, Pattison, Emersic. Smiling Dan Ceman wasn't a good replacement for Tessier though.

I think you could if you worked for a local authority. But a local authority isn't a business. It's one of the last bastions of spending other people's money and keeping your job as long as possible and attracting the sort of people you wouldn't turn your back on in a sweet shop. Some teams not able to get enough bottoms on seats to make it viable and others syphoning money off to far off lands. Just what long term thinking are those in the EIHL actually involved in? Anyone looking at the EIHL site would think it was either a first-grade project or it's been outsourced to a non-english speaking company to run. It's way beyond just being bad.[/b] or, they perhaps wouldn't be too fussed about the spelling and grammar mistakes, and just take the content for what it is. Which, sadly is what happens with the texting generation.

Hate to sound like the Panthers website, but these are two massive games this weekend. We need to win at least the home game, and put up a better showing against the Giants.

In the Coventry v Cardiff game, Devils nm was assessed a 2min penalty for'interference on a netminder'. How does that work ? I understood this penalty was assessed for interference ON, not interference BY. I'd guess that's a mistake, much like the wrong team's #18 being assessed a penalty last week. Same sort of mistake that sees Stars' Sanche assessed a 2min penalty for Fighting, at the Steelers on Sunday.

Holy Hockey! There's an actual old school, text based match report (of fairly minimal sorts!) on the website for this game. I can't even remembered the last time that happened. Can only presume it's because anything Wallace was going to say to "Panthers radio in association with [insert any random sponsor here]" would be unpublishable. Or, more, likely Wallace actually refused to give one this time. In which case good on him for that. Match report (such as it is) lays the blame for the loss on the player's undisciplined play in the first period. Wonder who wrote it. But, if nothing else, it proves the text functionality of the website still exists. Who knew! www.panthers.co.uk/fixtures/202122-elite-league-schedule/211204-panthers-starsThought Panthers website did one of these for every game, 'no puck luck', opposition shot took a deflection and went in', 'Panthers got caught on a bad line change' etc etc

An utterly abysmal game. We can't pass, we can't defend and we certainly have nobody prepared or able to shoot accurately. Our main tactic seems to be to dump and chase around the boards and that's without Lee on the ice! Possibly a useful tactic if we had players in a receiving position. The crowds are definitely getting less each week and there were some gaping holes in the stands yesterday. What few attendees there are don't exactly get roused by the dire performance of Ken. His entire repertoire these days seems to revolve around a few tedious video clips of Freddie Mercury, Great Escape or some cartoon chicken. I've seen better cheerleading at funerals. to be fair to Ken, it's on the ice where the action should be. I agree the whole entertainment/music etc needs reviewing, it's so scripted it's untrue and aimed entirely at plugging sponsors or selling something, but the crowd woke up momentarily with Norrish/Brassard's open ice hit. After that we all went back to sleep. Team included
