When team comes out at the start, still no pic of Richards, so obviously nothing yet for Hedberg.I didn't check for Thow. Welcome to Nottingham guys !

"Marc-Olivier Vallerand slapped past Kevin Carr on a delayed penalty after excellent patience from Daine Todd to put the Steelers back ahead when Dowd backhanded home." That just makes no sense. Followed up by 'that was where the scoring ended as the Panthers did battle etc' how about 'the scoring ended, though the Panthers' etc.instead. Not to be outdone, BBC Radio Nottingham reported this morning that we lost 5-4

Meanwhile in Cardiff, Coughler totals 9 goals in 9 games. If he did that in Nottingham he'd probably qualify for a shirt retirement

Sheffield do seem to go behind in a lot of matches at home, and manage to pull them out of the fire (or hat, or whatever it is you pull results out of). it would be typical of us to go up there and win, normally we go a couple of goals up then let them back in.

The FA Cup only takes 11, and that has over 1000 teams taking part!
Edited by poster - this season there were 729 teams taking part

no new injuries, still without Lee & Carozza who inches closer to a return. Inches is the right word for it.

So he was, 08-09. Remember him wearing #13 but forgot about his first season. Before that I’m going for Sam Bullas (another player that played 13 and 40) at back at the turn of the century, Jarkko Kortesoja?! Goalies don't count as they tend to wear numbers ending in 0

This coaching lark is easy. Sometimes a fresh voice helps no end. 3-2 end of 2nd. Not so easy

Impressive CV apart from the last couple of years. But why are these calibre of signings only made after things have gone badly wrong ! 🙄 Player A is signed by a club to carry out a particular role but then circumstances dictate he has to play a different role which he's not suited to. Which results in him falling out with coach, who benches him. player complains to his Agent, who offers his CV around clubs. OR Player A 'retires', but misses playing the game so decides to play for his local team just to 'scratch that itch'. After a while he rediscovers his hunger for the game and decides to try a higher level, and possibly make a bit more money. Enter the agent again... see the following when Hedberg signed for Ostersunds. Heavy recruitment bomb by Östersunds IK today. They bring in Edwin Hedberg, 27, forward with fine credentials who now returns home after over ten years on tour. "My goal is to be able to help the team reach hockey allsvenskan," he says. FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL MEDIA * INSTAGRAM – SEE HIGHLIGHTS HERE * TWITTER HERE * FACEBOOK HERE Edwin Hedberg has Östersunds as his parent club and left the association in 2010 to play in Modo's juniors. Since then, he has been around a lot of places and got himself a great track record. Among other things: * Three seasons and over 100 games in the KHL. * Five seasons and over 180 games in SHL. * Four internationals for Three Crowns. He comes most recently from allsvenskan and Modo, where he scored 13 points in 23 games last year before being stopped by an injury in January. The news was that his career was over. Now he is returning to his father's house. For many years I have played for my own survival. It's business. As a player, you become a commodity. Now it's something else. I feel a joy that hasn't been there since my youth. To come home and play with his parent club will be really fun," he told Östersunds-Posten. Edwin Hedberg has started training with ÖIK, but believes he is not ready to go into match play for another month. But he has high ambitions with the comeback of his new team. "This autumn I followed ÖIK from the stands and liked what I saw. The club has a wide squad with several top players. My goal is to be able to help the team reach hockey allsvenskan. Östersund deserves a hockey team at a higher level and I think we have a reasonable opportunity," he told ÖP.

Oh that's bad 🤦🏾♂️😂 Has the usual apparent "Google translate" English in the article as well -"The Stars *have* joint-last in the table on 13 points" - but getting the team name wrong in the headline is just cringeworthy. Ouch! Pity that Jokinen didnt sign for this new team. Headline ,'its not where you Start, its where you Finnish'

At least Matheson knows the players, systems, strengths and weaknesses, and the Management ! And he might have the makings of a good coach.

The link appears to suggest that he was being replaced as coach, and allowed to concentrate on the Hockey development role. If he's not good enough for them I can't see him being good enough for us. I'd have sooner had Ryan Aldridge !

Unusual times though. They couldn't have anticipated the Omicron virus and the strain it would place on completing the season. It's a positive move. I can’t quite believe I just read that. Didn’t just about everybody in the world know there could potentially be more trouble ? Certainly plenty mentioned it on here. not when the league started back up and not when the fixtures were formulated. People were already looking forward to getting 'back to normal'.

When was the last time they did that then, if it's typical? Saves 2 games, I guess, every little helps. Reference the fact that Elite have changed things mid season before which is very unprofessional. Unusual times though. They couldn't have anticipated the Omicron virus and the strain it would place on completing the season. It's a positive move.

Well they win and make it a four point weekend and the thread barely makes two pages. Is that because there is nothing for the non attending detractors to complain about? My view was that, in some respects, they were lucky to get a win. Fife were playing their third game in 3 days and still had some in the tank for the first part of the game but had a game plan and it was working. Considering the 'coaches' are both Dmen, our defence is still iffy, but then both can / could be found being deep in the offensive zone so getting caught on a breakaway is a high possiblity. Apart from that I thought we played better and having Domingue back was a boost. Still a win is a win. Dont get the love in for Tousignant, he scored an empty netter and was cheered like an all conquoring hero, apart from that he did very little. in his defence, while he's not the most skilled, fastest or toughest player to ever grace our team, he gets an awful lot of attention from opposing d-men, he's never afraid to 'take a hit to make a play' (thanks Aaron), and always drives hard to the net. The pass to Ollie for the first goal was perfect as well. He's probably one of the few players this season to perform to expectations.
