I think that was probably the best all round 60 minute performance for months.
Steelers were all over us for the first 10 minutes then I felt it was very even after that.
We had long spells where we could and should have scored a few more...we hustled the Steelers and didn't let them breath,we won the puck back a lot and for the first time in ages didn't look tired in the 3rd.
Play like that tomorrow and we might get something.

I have to agree here. Steelers experienced that night too and have been a juggernaut ever since ! Steelers did experience that night too yes, but didn’t have a teammate die on the ice did they? The trauma and grief that come with that, the funeral, memorial, it’s massive and can’t be ignored. Such a graphic death too, was brutal. And to then step back onto the ice and then play again, compete and challenge when all of that is still raw it’s a massive ask. Grief is a bitch, trust me And with in the inquest coming up,that night will be dragged back into the limelight again so the next few weeks are going to get even tougher. If we make the top 8 that would be an incredible achievement but if not it isn't the end of the world, this season is an anomaly. As you've said Sheffield didn't lose a player...in fact the way they have dealt with this has come across like it never happened.

Absolutely soul destroying I think that sums it up to be honest So good until the missed penalty shot then it was all Clan to be honest. We just could not clear the zone in the 3rd...the pressure built until we crumbled conceding 3 identical goals. Gutting as this was the game I really felt we would get that win

Its also boring hockey to watch currently. Your better off driving a hr to Coventry. To be fair I disagree it's boring.. yes we aren't scoring but the hockey is generally quick and has a high degree of intensity. Most of our games this season have been similar. The previous two seasons were so dull and slow to watch in comparison. The league in general seems to be being played at a much higher tempo this season,Giants and Storm for such big teams are surprisingly quick.

Up until 2-2 it was a great watch,so nice to see some nasty stuff and fights again.
Then it fell apart, the physical approach from Giants just wore us down and we just looked done.
I've been fully behind the lads all season and will continue to be so but genuinely feel absolutely flat and deflated after that...surely Wednesday has to be better...please

From my perspective having watched all home league games this season,It's been a long time since we have had such a hard working team, I don't see how they can work any harder.
We all know we needed some more physical players and we struggle to score but that isn't due to lack of effort.
It's strange for me as in the cold light of day this season is the worst by results I can ever remember but I'm weirdly really enjoying the games and I think this is just down to the intensity and speed we play most games at.
The past 2 seasons before this I was bored most games but not this season even though we aren't winning.
I'll be back next season regardless but if others don't then fine I get that, since the Covid return results haven't been good enough.

Think you lot are being a bit hard on yourselves at least on tonights performance. Yes Giants were the better team tonight but there were periods when the Panthers lines did put in a shift. Biggest failing was finishing...Besko was good but there were some obvious and glaring misfires from the Panthers which might have put a different spin on the game. I think that nails it...if we could score most of the chances we create we'd be at least mid table. We put in a decent performance every night in my opinion but once we get in front of the net.....

Unlucky tonight...if we had only taken the multitude of chances in the first period we would have won that.
Even game in terms of possession but we had the best chances. Robinson played well as did Anderson and Despres.
Pare looked lively and could be a real asset.
If we can be more ruthless tomorrow we can win.

Didn't deserve to lose that...much the better team but just couldn't get that second goal.
Great game to watch, hits, aggro and even a fight (of sorts)
Much better atmosphere than recent games as well

Will likely go to this one as I haven’t been to a game over the Christmas period due to work. What’s the injury front like at present? Missing on Sunday was Despres,Betteridge,Farley and Tetlow

Not a lot to say tonight...4 games in 6 nights playing short benched finally caught up with them I think!
They guys seemed knackered tonight and the usual 'zip' wasn't there for most of it.
McGurty deserved his penalty but just embarrassing to see us getting bullied again...
Not sure what Logan has done but he didn't ice until the 3rd?

This may not be popular but I thought that Panthers were dreadful tonight. They looked beaten from the start. Very little passion character muscle or determination in my view. I appreciate what has happened but they may as well pack it in for this year if that is what is on offer and a massive change is needed for next year. Crowd were great but let down in my opinion. One thing you cannot accuse this team of is lacking character and determination. I'll concede the muscle part as that has already been spoken about. We aren't as good as Sheffield but they tried their balls off as they do every game (unlike last seasons team)

Not much more left to say
Lots of effort as usual but Sheffield just too good in the end.
If that Welsh chance in the first had gone in things may been a bit different.
Rok was outstanding...probably the best I've seen him play for us.

Felt we started very slowly today and it took a while to get the intensity going.
Very even game but Storm probably had the better chances. We seemed to be hanging on a bit before an absolute rocket from Roy put us ahead slightly against the run of play.
Switched off at the end and left Critchlow unmarked to fire home.
Disappointing,we just don't seem to be able to hold on to a lead. We are 'in' every game which makes it so frustrating,I am worried about the festive games especially if Sheffield start to get physical.

Great performance and result.
Solid, composed and hardly gave Flames a sniff all game.
1st period I felt we came out so fast Guildford didn't know what had hit them. Great for Hazeldine to get a goal immediately. He was excellent all game.
Flames upped the physicality afterwards and it got quite fiesty at times...great watch.
So pleased for them to get that win and a shutout.

A pretty even game I felt until the last 10 minutes when it was wave after wave of Panthers attacks.
A combination of the final pass being just off/Stars defence seemingly being everywhere at once meant we couldn't get the gwg.
First time I've really seen Robinson play and he looked solid low down but a bit weak high up especially glove side. Stars seemed to work this out especially during penalties.
Good number of people made it despite the weather but felt (much like last week) the atmosphere was a bit flat again.

190+ views of this thread and 0 comments. Perhaps tells you peoples thoughts. Is it a case of people not wanting to post negative comments at this time? Let's see how he turns out. Hopefully more still to come. Spares needed if possible. Taken on its own merit I think he looks a decent signing.

Felt we were the better team and were unlucky not to win to be honest.
Aside from a the 2nd goal which was a bit of a nightmare all-round we looked good.
A fully match fit team would have won tonight as Giants looked poor by their standards.
Depres made a solid debut and showed real touches of class...won't mention the cross check penalty though..
Lots of positives to take forwards, they should be proud of how they have readjusted back to league action.

The way the whole crowd got up and started cheering as soon as Brainbug came on and the lights went down was fantastic.
The atmosphere pre game and on the 47th minute is something I'll never forget.
I'm sure his family must be so proud.

Pity adding tickets to the ST option wasn't available, seems they all have to collected from the venue, the effects of a limited timeframe I expect. Yep I can add mine as well. The more I think about this the more I think this game is such a great idea.

The next scheduled home league game is the 26th November so potentially as that's basically a month that might be a target date.
However those decisions are probably not being thought about until at least Saturdays memorial has taken place and even then it's still a day by day process.

Michaud's goal at the end - was that ENG? Sheet says not, report says it was. Yes, it was an empty netter And what an empty netter it was...Michaud had 2 Fife players hanging off him in our zone and still managed to get a shot away. Henbrant looked class tonight, the puck is glued to his stick,I was just wishing he would shoot more...and he did and it was the GWG! Shane Owen had a great game (again) The place was dead though...why they couldn't have done kid for a quid on a Wedneaday night in half term I'll never know.
