It gets better. We will be vying with Little Britain for best comedy 2006-07.
Why was Blaz released when there was no/still isn't a replacement signed up and ready to play? I'm lead to believe Blaz was actually at the Belfast game.
So, was there any need for us to be a man down in games against Belfast and Sheffield had he still been on the roster?
Does this not further antagonise a team with already shattered confidence?
Could Blaz have dropped back to cover for Rees if he was still here?
Could Ellis have stepped in up front for Blaz if it was deemed necessary (not sure of his registration/eligibility)? His points per game would suggest that to be a reasonable option.
The only unforeseen and potentially uncovered factor here is Clarkie.
And the winner is...............

I hadn't bothered to add them up and see the O/T period was simply missing from the total. Nice one.

PeteW as promised. Didn't get the period shots on goal and lifted the total from the Elite Site - check your programme next Saturday if you go. If not, give me a shout if you need period totals.

Joe got an assist last night in a 5-2 defeat at home to Brandin Cote's Texas Wildcatters. Guess he's not here yet then?

Have to say, for an ugly bloke, you've spoken a lot of sense there - in my opinion anyway. I agree with all of it. Just got to actually do it all now. (Plan-Do-Check-Act for those of you in the corporate cobblers business world). Probably difficult to find 80% of a team at this time in the season, and hope that things work out for you this time around mind you. Only real stumbling block is the lack of import slots and ITC cards we have left at our disposal.

So tell me what you'd do to fix things?
We all know we're not winning games, even the happiest of clappers. I think we can all agree that things are not going as planned, or as we were told they would be.
So, you've got till Christmas to turn things round, and I'll keep my peepers on your suggestions, and appraise your actions at the end of that time so that we can see just how you did.
Texpef, you will go on my first whistle, and anyone else who fancies their chances will go on my second whistle.

And Baz I'm sure a player skating round at the end of a game and seeing your face, immediately recognizes your displeasure, or more likely even cares. Nobody ever got anything done by keeping their mouth shut and I doubt we'd be watching Joe Carderelli tonight were it not for a collective venting of the spleen by the fans. Do they care about my face? I don't care if they do or not. Do they care if I loudly boo? Does that have a positive effect on the players or the team? Ask James Cooke not me. I think the vast, vast majority of players, if not all, do care about the teams performance/results, and you are doing them a diservice by saying they don't. If they really don't, why are they here? They're hardly on megabucks. They do because they're professional athletes. How come every other team's players care, but none of ours ever do? I think that Joe Cardarelli is here because the team has identified an area of weakness, not because some people boo them at the end of a game, or armchair coaches write posts on the interweb saying so and so needs gassing. They know when they've stunk the place out. When the score is 2-5 you don't need an explanation what that means. Like I said I just don't buy it. That's cool. It wasn't for sale. It's free if you want it. If you don't, that's fine too. You either subscibe to it or you don't. I'm not going to change your view, and you're not going to change mine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There's plenty of professionals, (business) management and (sports) coaches, who will sit on one side of the fence but not the other.

So are we saying if you aren't happy keep it to yourself? If the team's performance stinks and they happen to catch sight of me in the crowd as they skate round, they'll know what I think. They know they stank. They know I thought they stank.

I've said this before somewhere. Some great long post which I can't find. I think there is some other problem somewhere. A serious problem. I think it's lack of a winning mentality - even with numerous management/coach/player changes over the years.
I also think that Panther's fans, as a whole, do get on the team's back more than any other team's fans do. I really don't think it is in the least bit constructive. It only serves to antagonise any work done "in the room" (Jesus I hate that expression) on team building.
Neither am I a "happy clapper" before one of you jumps on my back. If the team's performance stinks and they happen to catch sight of me in the crowd as they skate round, they'll know what I think. I don't stand there booing and neither do I vent my spleen on here. They know they stank. They know I thought they stank. They don't need to hear it day after day after day. (Neither do we need to read it on here day after day after day). Listen how the tone of players' responses to questions has changed since the beginning of the season. They're now trying to justify their own existence instead of talking about winning.
Hate it if you will, but we need to cultivate the Steelers mentality. They really believe they are number one, even if they are number five. Do you think it's just purely coincidence that every time we play them, Tessier or Sutter scores a GWG? Or we lose in the most unimaginably horrific way? Really? No, our mentality means we're going to lose. "Ooh, we're a goal up with 30 seconds to go. I bet they'll pull their keeper and score". Guess what? They just did. Again. The mentality extends to the team. They believe they're number one too, even when they're number five. Even all this Simms "We believe" krapp plays it's part, even if it really grates.
"When we go to France, we'll come back shyte. We always do. The season is another waste of money. I don't know why I bother." Guess what? You're right. Say it often enough and the team will start to believe it.
Let's put all that into context. We believe we're number five even when we're number one. Guess what? We'll end up number five. Again.
We've never really won anything. Ever. There was no golden period. The only constant over the last twenty years has been the fans. Are we to blame? Who else can be? Everyone else has changed many times.
Sorry. I was only going to post a line or two, but got wound up again. It's all a bit sixties and the power of the mind stuff, and only my view. Moan or clap all you like. If you want the team to win you need to get behind them. I would suggest a balance between the two.
I'm not debating or arguing this with any happy clappers or moaning minnies. It's my view. Live with it, or don't.

The title of this thread should be someone's artistic description of a searing display from the Panthers, setting the ice alight with skilful, aggressive skating and goal scoring to take a stunning and deserved victory.
Unfortunately it's about a fire in the arena, which sums the night up rather well.

Fact is Baz we know for a fact who Mary Goran is. Don't we Lucy? I've probably seen Mary more recently than any other posters on here. I know their gender. I was only commenting that selecting male or female on a profile does not confirm the nature of the contents of their underpants. ;D

If you look under the avatar it says 'male' which confirms Mary Goran is a HE. Mary Goran is a 'play on words' of Gary Moran - who happens to be GM of the Panthers, but that's the only connection. The real GM never posts on here! Confirms only that he/she typed/selected "Male" There's plenty fallen for that one in the past eh Gramps?

A couple of questions I have regarding this Why Hull? Given our current form will Hull let us win? Wheres my invite Gary, afterall the 22nd is my birthday too Coz it's a midweek game, but people will attend because it's the anniversary game, and you have to pay to watch Hull this season even if you're an ST holder. Very shrewd.

is it a programme printed in the hope the game would take place and then we never qualified for it? sorry if you already worked it out just a thought i had. No. It was a one-off game set up with us and Solihull as neither of us qualified for the play-offs, so just a bit of an end of season knock about really. There was no cup or points up for grabs, purely a challenge game. It came from someone connected with the club, but I assume no-one ever even went to Solihull on the day. I'm stumped, and it's probably too long ago for the donater to shed any more light on it.

Spik In one of your less lucid moments you must have missed the thread I started on this. Look hereBetween us, we came to the conclusion that the game was never played. Why I have a programme I don't know. There's a rare one for you, there won't be many of those about.
