Half my team have already gone (bloody transfer rules), and the other half keep scoring. A dreadful season.

Ian, At the game away at Basingstoke Lindsay heard nothing but chants and shouts from vocal Panthers fans regarding his ability to tend net, that Cruickshank was a better keeper and we should have kept Cruickshank over him. That's not a few lines on a forum. That's loud in your face harsh criticism during a game. I'm absolutley speechless.

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned that he wasn't at the book launch. As Miff said to me, he probably tried to catch a bus and missed it.

Did you see the check he hit Magdosko with? It knocked the cr*p out of him.
Anyone getting jazzed off with these rolling signature things?

There's only two people that knows the facts - the one who did it (allegedly), and the one to whom it was done (allegedly).

Considering the dingdong we had going yesterday a very honest and brave post. Much respect. I wouldn't have even called it a ding dong. My style of motivation and yours are different and we aired our views. That's all. Sometimes the written word doesn't convey the mood of the writer as well as a chat over a pint, but thanks for your comments anyway. I don't think I ever said the team was any good. I like to think that they are, but in truth, they're probably not. I still won't boo the players, as the effort's there in my opinion and that's all I can rightfully expect from them. It's perhaps the selection of those players and/or the tactics employed by them that's at fault, not the individual players per se. We're both frustrated by our teams lack of performance (as is everyone else on here at the moment). Sadly (or probably thankfully!) I'm not in a position to do anything about that. I'm sure everyone from Neil Black down has the same frustrations. We can only hope that those who have the power and ability to do something actually do.

After sitting in that car park for an hour on my own, I have finally come to the realisation that this team is simply not good enough. In the main they graft, and some graft their nads off. I can't go with all this "here for a ride/holiday/giggle" stuff. The effort is clear to see from the vast majority.
What is patently lacking is the application. They don't play as a team at all. It would appear that they don't talk to each other on the ice. How many times have we seen two players going for the same puck, or neither? I hate to say it, as I'm more on the positive side of the fence, but we'll win nothing this year. The talent is missing, the team work is non-existant and the results all show that. No names, no pack drill, but I've seen some shocking performances in the last few games, from those who get slated on here, and from those who are lauded. Passing the puck to an unmaked opposing forward in the clear is not helping anyone's cause. I think there's only one player I'd keep given the choice.
A sad and defining moment.

Coventry's first goal came about ten seconds after a faceoff next to our goal. Why have Cooke, Ferrera and Moran out for the faceoff against Calder, Carlson and Stewart?! It depends on why the face off was called. I don't recall the face off specifically, but it sounds like it may be an icing call, in which case the line icing the puck has to remain on the ice for the ensuing face off. Alternatively, the first line might have just left the ice cause they were knackered. It's not always the coach's "choice".

I went to a recent Carl Froch fight at the NIC and spent the night listening to "We hate Derby and we hate Derby" which was interesting as there was no-one there from Derby. I don't suppose they were football fans as I'm sure I've never heard that song sung at the City Ground.
Call me a snob, but I don't want to listen to that at a hockey game. Whining Sheilas I can stomach as it's relevant. Pea sartists just making a noise I can do without thanks.

I'll post this again here. I put it on the Mike Rees thread.
It gets better. We will be vying with Little Britain for best comedy 2006-07.
Why was Blaz released when there was no/still isn't a replacement signed up and ready to play? I'm lead to believe Blaz was actually at the Belfast game.
So, was there any need for us to be a man down in games against Belfast and Sheffield had he still been on the roster?
Does this not further antagonise a team with already shattered confidence?
Could Blaz have dropped back to cover for Rees if he was still here?
Could Ellis have stepped in up front for Blaz if it was deemed necessary (not sure of his registration/eligibility)? His points per game would suggest that to be a reasonable option.
The only unforeseen and potentially uncovered factor here is Clarkie.
And the winner is...............

The way things are going Helen, I'll have passed you by Christmas. Half my team have gone as well. Don't panic just yet, or your brain will have nowhere to go in a few weeks.

oh my god baz u have gone into positive figures... Yes, I've just queried that. If anybody's scoring points there'll be some sackings in the not too distant. There's a team ethic which is clearly being ignored if this is the case and the BFG management will not stand for it. If the bean counters are wrong they better have a very good hiding place.

The only reason that they are saying that he is a hero is because he scored the first ever goal at the NIC. And at the London Arena if I am not mistaken.
