No internet all game (sorry) so all I can say is that (as the only one walking proud in Panthers shirt) I was not in much hope for Flames. Guildford always a step behind. Sheffield like a brick wall with the odd stick in a Guildford face ignored Guildford fans didnāt think theyād have much luck either when I spoke to them. Maybe not a neutral venue but no effort is put in by Elite to give fair equality at both teams. You might as well have been at a normal Steelers home league game. Simms on the mic and home music/ video etc etcā¦. But at least a program was put out this year.

Challenge Cup Final tomorrow night, Sheffield v Guildford at the Tin Shed. Anyone see any possibility of an upset? Hope so. I'm going to this one. Cheering for the Flames.

So, another possible iron man hits the dust in Mike Caruso. Only three men left who have played all games this season.
Disappointing result losing at home against a side we needed to beat. Had hopes of a play-off spot but looking more like wooden spooners. Just saying this to seek Panthers proving us all wrong.
Likely 50 gamers on the all-time list now are Lunsjo, Nieminen and Roy in their first season.

What a ridiculous time to have it. Did no-one think about it being a late start and therefore late finish game? There will be plenty of fans who don't live on the doorstep and have to travel some distance home only to have to get up early the next morning for work/school etc. I bet they wouldn't dare try it after a major concert. For those that do read it in detail it does state that anyone can leave, for any reason, and I'll be exercising that option. We already have the stupidity of not being able to enter by some stairs but being able to leave by the same. Farcical. Bar the fact it may have gone into OT/PS and most will take the option of 'having to leave' - it's not a real exercise is it? Someone in the toilets knowing its a practice is going to go back in for their bags/child in order to go home. Or are they supposed to go out at the end of the game and wait how long to get back in? Do it un announced before a game?

'So much of a success, we are thrilled....' ' I bet they are. Retro shirts KA-CHING.
At this rate there will be more 'fancies' than the actual 'game issue home, away and third (cup?) shirts...ie, A lost identity that we were promised back by Mr.Pacha.

I imagine people with money, desperate to get one in their lifetime or those getting carried away are major buyers.
Because these are out of reach for most I believe the club do other āfirst comeā scenarios?
Just glad I found my shirts in the old days when it wasnāt such a fad. Hopefully everyone is happy with their win bids.

Interesting stat facts.
The numbers game is very complicated but with the GRS being completed much better around the arena/rinks this season it has helped us stato's.. Most errors on the game sheets were happening pre-season or early on.
I'd like to explain of (whether I like them or not) CORRECT recordings, thought initially to be errors once seen.
Most errors seem to show around net minder stats. Be it that the TOI total is incorrect or the 'Goalie Changes' not being worth recording as it is not 'fit for purpose'. Sometimes players that have scored/assisted don't even appear in the 'Goals' section as a player even on the ice at that time. Shots taken by players as a team total never used to match up with the GRS total or other such mathematical calculation.
BUT here is one such stat that we assume may be seen as correct? For you to look out for. That David, Bob (bobness) and I generally discuss at times.
Six Skaters on ice
My friend David says...
When we played Coventry on 4th February? The Blaze had a man advantage as their minder went off at this time, so we were shorthanded by one man. Now it is 6-4 (ok your saying, so what).
We got back to full strength and their minder resumed in goal, so 6-5 on ice at this moment. It was still 6-5 when we actually scored. BUT the goal was recorded on the scoresheet as 5-5 and this has been the case elsewhere - Belfast v Cardiff and Dundee v Guildford on 3rd February. Go figure why 5-5 but its how they record it.
Bob says...In my words
Same with delayed penalty goals. On which (I'm sure) that the time the goalie is off the ice for the extra man, his TOI is nor altered ie, when going off isn't counted - thus not deducted.
David agrees....again in my words
On a game 6th Jan. v Guildford, Stojanovic left the ice at 13.50 so we had an extra attacker and scored. The penalty was nullified from that resulting Nottingham goal at 14.00 and the penalised player Klimek was recorded correctly in the penalty column as '0' mins. 5 on 5 was recorded. Yet the ten seconds our goalie was off before the goal, was not recorded. Both net minders on the sheet showing the same as 61.58.....
It can go wrong though. In a game 27th Jan. in Sheffield AND a game in Manchester. Discrepancies are found in the totaling up. So, by what method do EIHL record TOI and what factors bring about the discrepancies?

Good luck to Mike, but it'd be interesting to know how the IIHF stuff works here, do they just ignore them in NA? Why has he been able to transfer back to a different member nation after the window has ended? IIHF transfer deadline was 15/2 wasnāt it? Maybe Robinson handed his notice in prior to that so was therefore available for transfer?! Is this when a player gives notice and not thus allowing a team to get somebody in to replace? If a player can leave this way, surely the team should be allowed to fill the gap after the deadline. Otherwise the 'notice' given should be that two weeks prior to the deadline at the latest.

Here we go again with a newer format. Essentially longer Challenge Cup, return of a cross over or conference system and boring season to come because of no initiative.
