It was quite amusing last year, we may as well have one this season. After all, the fans have spoken and they want more professionalism, right? I'll start, with today's lead story, proudly titled...
"2023/23 Rosters so far"

Start as you will inevitably go on.
Other than the expected typo, why haven't they just updated the roster pages on the website?

They initially put our first home game as a cup game when it was league.

I think the first thread covered the last two seasons. Noticed a poor typo recently but didn’t want to get too excited and thought best we wait till season started. But hey, it’s our entertainment so here goes 23/24.

Start as you will inevitably go on. Other than the expected typo, why haven't they just updated the roster pages on the website? Two mistakes there too. Welsh is a returnee and McKenzie ( who did play) isn’t according to them. If I were at Panthers HQ I’d alert them to it but……

The website is correct regarding Tyler Welsh, he's a different Welsh. McKenzie played once but was not on the roster.

The website is correct regarding Tyler Welsh, he's a different Welsh. McKenzie played once but was not on the roster. But they've marked him as a returnee. No asterisk. Presumably confused him with Jeremy. Not just him though, Rok played for us last year too apparently. (Not really sure why anyone would need the asterisks anyway, but if you're going to do it...)

Indeed. The "new to the team" is strange, especially when there's no apparent distinction between "home grown" and "not". Apparently returning for Storm is Ewan Weninger, listed as a forward. Presumably he's different to the "not a new arrival either" goalie Evan Weniger. Between the two attempts, they have got his name right in the end. More professionalism, that's what the fans want...

McKenzie played and that's good enough for me as someone on my roster of player stats with +1. Or are Elite agreeing that the silly 3rd and 4th play off game is just for laughs? Reason I'm not on the clubs payroll but am going in goal when they want me, can't skate - will be pushed to nets. Mediocre numbers from Gym Hockey play. Cup winners medal an all that. Put me on the 'changes' list when it happens, with or without an asterisk..

I'm glad we've got our own roster section run by panthersnation because the EIHL one has a growing number of "interesting" signing names Including our own recent signing: Mehieu Lemay*, (which, even as I cut and paste it in, my spell checker suggests Mathieu as a more likely spelling!) www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3214-2023-23-rosters-so-farThe articles have been a little better but I'll only believe in an improvement when the game reports start. Anything less than 5 random/made up words per piece would be a win. Could we be in for a vantage/vintaj/veintage year I wonder...?

We spoke too soon. They just posted this: "Goalie Kevin Carr will find himself back in the Elite League in the 2023/24 after being announced as Dundee Stars' 19th signing off the off-seaosn." Missing word ✓ Wrong word used ✓ Spelling mistake ✓ All in the first paragraph ✓ "EIHL Howler Bingo!" So, what do I win... www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3238-carr-back-in-eihl-with-dundee

I'm not sure they'd manage to colour inside the lines bobness 😂 It's a good job they don't rely on that though. They seem to "announce" only a fraction of our signings for example. I think we'd have a roster of 3-4 players based on announcements only 🤦🏾♂️

EIHL page now says “2023/24 rosters so far”. About time. Still no Caruso listed for Panthers though, and no asterisk for Tyler Welsh. 6/10 See me after class.

Go on Bob, email them to see what the response time is. Then again they probably only check emails coming in as regular as looking at their own website. I mean it’s glaringly obvious in front of you the errors but they don’t seem to see it or the Elite computer is switched off for days/ weeks on end. There can’t be any interest in these pages they upload or it would be sorted. Usual answer would probably be ‘ there are other things to do first’ , so I would assume you’d then get it right the first attemp?

You might have thought Worcester would be able to get a photo of the actual player? I'm just impressed that Worcester had a lens long enough to manage to photograph the Elite League logo all the way from the States 😂 EIHL Feedback score: "C+. You show awareness of what you want to do but then don't deliver on a crucial element of your essay plan. I can't mark what's not there, especially when you've told me it should be there. Using a footnote for content you fail to include shows a lack of attention during editing. Can do better. See me after class"

Introducing the ECHL's new "fulls" season...which are apparently only 5 and a half games long each year: "Pouncy, also Canadian, heads to Dundee after two fulls seasons in the ECHL with Utah, notching 17 points over 11 games" Because apparently over at EIHL towers 45+68 = 11 rather than 111. I just hope the same guy isn't in charge of the league's finances 🙈😂 www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3256-two-more-added-to-stars-blue-line

The start of the interview is normal speech then apparently he began an stream of consciousness.... "We wanted to build a team with experience, so we did not go with a young team this season and I do not think our league is built for that and we wanted some guys with experience, especially on our back end and he definitely fills that void. We wanted a defensive core that is going to be hard to play against, so guys with some size, who can move the puck up the ice to our forwards, skate with the puck and bring it out of our zone, so just guys who play a simple hockey game and that is what we have here." www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3256-two-more-added-to-stars-blue-line
