Going to the game v Steelers next Saturday and wanting to go into Nottingham for a few hours before. Where would be the best place to park without paying silly prices? Normally I'd get the tram but don't fancy having to use a bus aswell with the works around the forest etc.

I wouldn't bother with the Arena Car Park. Unless you pay in advance it's expensive, last time I went past there it was just compacted hardcore rather than a properly finished car park and, whilst it has CCTV and is apparently 'patrolled' it's not exactly in a nice part of town. If you don't know town you're better off parking at a tram stop park and ride (such as Phoenix Park) or if you're not too bad at following Sat-Nav, using Marco Island Car Park. It's just up the road from the Arena and you get to stop off at the rather excellent Bunkers Hill on the way in. What are the prices like at Marco island car park?

Totally agree, I'm certain we won't have a full team in for the Cardiff games. That's why I've not bothered booking tickets for the home game. They have said that they are confident that most if not all players will be here for the start of training camp. They've also said that before. I'll believe it when I see it.

Read on one of the articles on the official website camp starts on the 6th of august Would be shocked if every player is here for the 6th August tbh, with the normal times for visas I am sure a few will be waiting on clearance. Totally agree, I'm certain we won't have a full team in for the Cardiff games. That's why I've not bothered booking tickets for the home game.

Looks a good player but as others have said, too much of the same once again. I think this team is going to be fun to watch but ultimately can't see them scoring enough to challenge for the title. Can't see who would fit into a decent powerplay. Plenty of penalty killers. Looking forward to the season purely for the entertainment these should bring .

Am I missing something here. The way I read it was scoreboard, not jumbotron. I'm guessing the mean the scoreboard at the front of block 18? Now THAT is cynical! Seriously though, I imagine the social media staff tat the Motorpoint wouldn't know it was called a jumbotron. It's a genuine question. I've seen quite a few replies on Twitter asking if it's jumbotron but no replies. I would imagine whoever is posting from the arena would have the correct name for the upgrades in the arena?

Well they tweeted to say this 'facilities fee' is going to be invested in a new scoreboard Next year! So long as it’s going to be a proper scoreboard and system that brings the arena up to date and allows far (as in FAR) higher DPI together with seamless real time video I have no problem with that at all. About time the NIC climbed out of the Teletext age. Personally I am 100% behind it. Am I missing something here. The way I read it was scoreboard, not jumbotron. I'm guessing the mean the scoreboard at the front of block 18?

Good move. We should carry a spare. No question. Ideally an all rounder who can cover knocks on Forward or D. Lindhagen

I cannot be swept up with the blind optimism I am seeing on facebook and twitter. As opposed to the more usual blind pessimism? The spinal-reflex moaning that is all too prevalent amongst a vocal few? All of these wild predictions about goalscoring... it's complete fantasy. Stats from previous seasons are - at best - only a slight indication of what a player may do here... at worst, they bear no relevance whatsoever. The prime example in Panthers history for that is John Craighead. 35 goals in 4 DEL league campaigns... hardly much of an impressive scorer, right? That's what everyone said when he was announced. 39 goals he scored that year for us. Granted, he acted like a total tit a lot of the time and quite frankly became a liability... but absolutely nobody (apart from the coach?) saw that level of scoring coming. We've all seen players who have massively underperformed compared to expectations... and we've seen players who have come in and performed way above what was expected. We've also seen players who work really well with some line-mates, and really badly with others - P.C. Drouin is the best example for that one. Didn't do diddley-squat partnered with Hadden & Leach... but with Tait and Struch, it was a completely different story. Plus we have absolutely no idea what to expect from the coaching of Rich Chernomaz. There are just too many variables to make any kind of real prediction whatsoever. So... why not just wait and see? So you really think that the players we have signed would be in Cardiffs top 6? Look at hadden who they've just signed .proven pointscorer, if much rather us be signing players with proven track records rather than players who we HOPE might turn into that. I think it's going to be an entertaining team with the size we have , probably plenty of fights at but I just can't see us being in the running for the league again with a team made up of mostly powerforwards.

Steve Simoes might disagree with you there. He got binned about every other time he threw a hit and I can’t ever remember him throwing a nasty one. Are we mobile enough with all these big bodies, that’s more my concern. In his original interview Rich stated he likes to have size and speed in his team so hopefully he's done his homework. No concerns about Lepine we know what he's about. I doubt Olsen would have played 100+ NHL is he couldn't skate well and same with Biggs being a first round draft pick. Hopefully nothing to worry about Zack Phillips and Logan Macmillan were both also first round draft picks. I've seen a few posts from leafs fans saying Biggs was the worst first round pick in history. Not criticising the guy at all but I'm starting to fear that we have too much of the same thing in this team. Hope I'm wrong .

I think the reason we looked better when he was in the team was more down to the fact that we never covered injuries. We were bound to look better with a full roster than missing players. I really don't see him as a top 6 forward. Not for a team with serious ambition of winning the league he just doesn't put up the points. To me your top 6 should be snipers and playmakers and he's neither of those . Can't get my head round this one and I'm just asking for an explanation not debating anything. I just assume that if your in a team that we are down men because of not covering injuries, he'd not be showing well as the team would also be more on the back foot in games and losing more at those times. OR did he only play in a full roster? You can't blame him for showing up poor if your not on the ice either. [br What I'm trying to say is that we lost more games when he wasn't playing purely down to the fact that we couldn't roll 4 lines in those games.we did equally as bad when spang was out. I don't think his game is rounded enough to play on the top 2 lines of a top team in this league. If he could snipe or make a decent play he's be a cracking player with his speed but speed and speed alone isn't really enough to warrant a place in our team I don't think.

Why do people seem to think he's a replacement for bussieres? He's supposed to be a enforcer so gagnons replacement. Downgrade for me. Puts up a fair few points which is good but he takes way too many penalties and he's not in the same league as gagz fighting wise. Isn't this who gagz left covered in blood?

I think the fact we hardly lost a match when he iced demonstrates his value. I’d be disappointed if he went elsewhere and it’s common knowledge that he turned down a much bigger pay day from Cardiff, to stay loyal to Panthers. There a lot of validity in that argumemt. We looked much better with him in the team. For some reason people expect mosey to be a ppg player. Hes not, he ended up about spot on what i expected from him. A good second liner and would have him back at the right price. I think the reason we looked better when he was in the team was more down to the fact that we never covered injuries. We were bound to look better with a full roster than missing players. I really don't see him as a top 6 forward. I liked Mosey but let's be honest, he didn't pull up any trees last year and dont use his injury as a excuse and playing on d too..for how much he was probably being paid we can get a lot better and a lot more points production I think we can do alot better personally I know alot of people like him for one reason and another but he's not a big points scorer and I imagine he's on too much money to be a 3rd line player

Just seen a post on Twitter from a couple of days ago from mosey about his broken ankle. There was a comment from someone about havnt Panthers provided you a chauffer? His reply was..panthers didn't even provide a ride to the airport.
Not saying that critism isn't warranted with this but do you think given what he's said, in public, suggests he won't be back in august?

A question for the knowledgeable out there … do any of the ahl teams play on ice as big as ours? Most AHL rinks are 200x85 so the same size as NHL. A handful are slightly wider. Not sure about ECHL mind you. I don't suppose you know the sizes of ours and other eihl rinks do you? Always wondered if the nhl ice pads are the same as ours or storms etc

If it's going to be 3 conferences again then the only fair way of doing it is to move Manchester to the Scottish conference and put hull in their place with Coventry mk and guildford. Abit unfair on storm travel wise but to keep the league as competitive as possible with the conference system. Maybe cut the league down to 3 home and 3 away in conference and 2 home 2 away against the rest. I'd much prefer a straight league though.

Seems a ridiculous decision to me, the Edinburgh capitals have so much more potential than the murrayfield racers. They just needed the investment , just like the racers will. I mean what north American or European player would know where murrayfield is? Where was Edinburgh? It's worldwide known. So much more marketable. Personally hope the eihl reject the murrayfield racers purely for the way they have gone about their business. Take a 11 team league for a season and look at hull Basingstoke or Swindon making the step up Isn’t Basingstoke in trouble already? And if someone wants to invest in the Capitals then I have a bridge for sale somewhere. The hands etc could have put the money they're going to invest in this murrayfield racers team into the Edinburgh capitals. All's they need is proper advertisement and marketing. They're in a massive city, full of north American and European tourists. Students. They've got massive potential. They could and would be a one of the big teams in this league with the right owners. In my view they've gone the wrong way about it and torn up their fanbase.

Starting to become very agitated by the lack of atleast an update on the coaching front. No didn't hang about , why are we ? Players are already signing at other teams and we have no coach to sign anyone
