Decent 3rd line power forward, likes to hit and can fight

Can't say i'm too excited about this one compared to our other signings. A bit of a "meh" signing.

Prefer a fighter as a forward so when he's in the box he's not sending the team short on defence like Gannon would .
Good 3rd line power forward. Happy enough with this

A power forward who scored goals in the league....he can scrap - this is an upgrade on Bussieres IMO. Rich had made some great signings so far and if he says he’s good enough, no reason to question that!

Heard it might be him.
At first a bit meh and underwhelming. On reflection though if he’s a 3rd line power forward and will stick up for his team mates, then he could be ok. Got confidence that Cherno will know how to get the best out of him and will give him a clearly defined role.
Also (biggest positive) he could be a replacement for Bussieres?

On reflection he might come in and do the job Bussieres was supposed to do. If he puts the same numbers up again from the 3rd line and adds a bit of toughness then its not too bad at all. Only 24 too and he'll be playing under a much better coach than he had last year too so may get better still

Why do people seem to think he's a replacement for bussieres? He's supposed to be a enforcer so gagnons replacement. Downgrade for me. Puts up a fair few points which is good but he takes way too many penalties and he's not in the same league as gagz fighting wise. Isn't this who gagz left covered in blood?

Don't think he is a gagz replacement but he may be either bussieres or browns?

Two punches from Gagz and it was game over. As has been said, if he’s replacing Bussieres then this is a good signing, if he’s going to be our enforcer, to replace Gagz, then it’s a bit underwhelming. Let’s see how it goes.

How can he be replacing Gagz when he's forward . He ll do the fighing for the team and leave olsen and hughes to play the physical game on the back end . What's not to like.. 16 goals last year.. bus got 5 !

He’s a power forward which Bussieres was supposed to be. He’s not an enforcer. Hence he’s not in the same league as Gagnon fighting wise. Yes he left half of his face on the ice in a scrap at Braehead last season. As for penalties, I’d rather have a forward sat in the bin for 5 minutes than a D man.

The reason he’s a replacement for Bussieres is that he was billed as a power forward....and he was epically bad. Doty is far better on all fronts. Like for like, this is a huge upgrade.
Gagnon is tough yes....but Doty is equally as good. And having an enforcer up front is far less risky than on D. I liked Gagnon but he’s not the be all and end all. He did some good things but I’d rather have some offensively minded D men in now.

People get bogged down with the "enforcer". Cardiff have done pretty well with the team toughness blueprint the last few seasons. You've now got Doty, Hughes, Olsen who are all big bodies.

Olsen should put up similar numbers to Sauve.

One things for sure, we’re going to be a big, intimidating team next season.

We could be really good here if we can eat the right people on. The foundations are looking good. People are too caught up in bribing back too many failures from last season. Fresh coach, fresh start. Bringing in players with EIHL is also new for us!

A good addition, he’s tough, hits, fights and did well points wise last season. He’ll do a job on the third line.

Assuming Doty is taking over the enforcer role from Gagnon, we can sign a steady dman in his place.
Theres no doubt this is a diwngrade in fightinh terms. Gagnon was the toughest guy in the league last year for me. However although its nice for fans to say we have the biggest dog in the fight its not needed to win games.
The upside to this is that it gives us a guy to put Farmer next to. I always think we've got the best out of Farmer when he plays with a tough guy. And Doty should slow down his points production.
Im really hoping we get Brown back now. Farmer-Brown-Doty, now thats a line i could get excited about. Very imtimidating line and they are all good for 0.6 - 0.7 ppg. Thats a good return from a third line.

Trust the coach and wait till the squad is complete. Coach wants a big power forward who can score and drop gloves. This guy is perfect for that. Proven in this league, will leave cash to spend on the top line and let them focus on scoring. Also love the fact we are poaching players for within the league.
I might turn up for this season if it keeps going like this.

Very happy with this signing, tough enough to hold players accountable, yet still holds up respectable point production. He's a proven entity in the EIHL.

In terms of forward lines I’d say we’re probably looking something like: ............ - ......... - .......... ............ - ......... - Kovacs Farmer - Perlini - Doty Lacho - .......... - Betteridge We still need a centre for the the fourth line and that could be Brown. Kovacs can play either wing and I think this will be determined by whether we sign Mosey or not.
