Great news! If both netminders are fit though it will be interesting to see how they are rotated with regards to so called smaller and bigger matches. Dont think kwall or modig will want to miss many games.

Clan fan here offering some thoughts, I’m sorry to say that there are some blinkers on some eyes here, though they’re on the people expecting the Panthers to win every single game from now to the end of time. (Even then if they did win every game those people would then moan the EIHL isn’t competitive enough a competition for them!) The very nature of sport is that anything can happen, there’d be no point in it if the outcomes pre-determined! Having all the money, the best facilities and the “better” players on each and every night can be rendered absolutely meaningless. Ask Coventry City how having all that worked out for them in their recent cup tie, they still got beat by a team 5 tiers below them with home advantage! We couldn’t be Edinburgh for toffee away from home for nearly 2 years until Ryan Finnerty came in, and even then we still get bizarre losses to Hull, and yes I can be peeved with it on the night but that’s just what happens even if you’re the “better & bigger” team. Panthers fans “taken for a ride”? I’m sorry that is just absolute garbage, you had how many imports last season, 19, 20? The coach has been given funds to bring in extra cover for injury if he feels the need for them, and has been supported again this season for the club’s European adventure. To suggest the club is somehow trying to “profiteer” & “fleece” & paying fans is just nonsense. After player wages, their housing, flights, equipment, ITC, Visa costs & then staff & other general operating costs there is little left over at the end of each season for any club. I’ve seen my Clan play a few matches with 12 skaters, didn’t make me question the makeup of the entire club, we sucked it up and got on with it. Panthers are one of the few luckier teams who can bring more players in at relatively short-notice. If those “problems” are too much, we’ll gladly trade for them for ours up here! Panthers have been a very successful club in recent years due to very prudent management on & off the ice, winning plenty of trophies along the way. Winning so many doesn’t make the Panthers entitled to win them, you’ve set the bar and other clubs are rising up to it, that’s the very nature of competitive competition. You’ll still win titles in the future, but so will other clubs, and if you can’t deal with that then sport in general just isn’t for you. If i could like this more than once i would lol well said!

Sometimes i dont think its justified slagging off the players. It comes a lot down to recruitment and coaching. If you are constantly rolling different lines game by game no matter how good the players are the team is going to struggle. (That goes for any sport really) I also do not believe the players we have are that bad tbh. The defense looks pretty solid and if they get it drilled into them that they dont mess around with the puck in their oen zone then there is a lot to be happy about. I do agree however with what has been commented on that we miss a stellar one or two forwards who can change a game when things are tight. But as i have said i think with the forwards we have if we sorted out regular lines we may start creating more opportunities. As for our form over recent games i dont see to much to be concerned about just yet as we havent got thumped in any game they have just been bybthe odd goal. These games could have gone differently on another night. Always the optimist and we could win the next 8 games and everything will be rosey again lol. Just a final point please get robinson or a similar replacement as live watching this calibre of player

Cant blame injuries tonight either. Playing 17 skaters against 13 you should be winning no matter who the team is. Oh well get back to business next weekend.

Do people think that Robinson may stay in light of the westgarth news? Makes the league look a tad more appealing with that calibre of signing.(hats off to Belfast by the way)

Didn't we sign an extra import before all the CHL extras started arriving? Have they left already so that'd leave us with 11+1 dual when Robbo goes? we did have steve ward as another permanent import d but he "retired" before the season started.

Robinson confirmed staying for another 2 weeks as cover for parent. Good news I think as he seems to be finding his feet over recent weeks.

We talk about our injuries but I think caps would give their right arm to roll with 3 forward and 3 defensive lines. Should be a decent game though. Panthers to scrape it by a goal.

Will this be Nathan Robinson last game or is he still eligible to play for us in league games until he decides what he is doing?

Decent game. Steelers very poor. As said panthers don't look very threatening on the power play at all. Very one dimensional pass across ice to man at back post nearly every time. You can tell Lawrence is not a natural goalscorer as fluffed a lot of chances. Robinson is definitely a class apart. Hopefully power play will pick up when Clarke, farmer and Higgins come back in.

Question is (and I can't believe I'm going to ask this) were does Fox fit into this team? Thinking with my head and not my heart the simple answer is he doesn't. Maybe if we didn't have Parent / Ward he would but it's hard to slot him in somewhere currently. I just don't think the balance would be right. Foxy can play forward and defense he would be a perfect fit lol two birds with one stone lol
