Round 1 of 11. Don't know wether I'm glad this is a CC game in the first meeting or not so we can see what we are up against. Suppose it depends on the result.
I'm going. With a 4-2 win. Empty net goal.

Tickets booked, first Panthers Steelers game.
Yet to see the Panthers lose in a domestic game (CHL ruined my 100% record). Let's go Panthers.
5-2, the Bruce on fire with a hatrick!

I have absolutely no idea on this one, Sheffield do look good and have signed some quality imports, plus Doyle has been plying well, so I am really not sure. Pleased it's only a CC match and it will be a good test for us and should let us know where we are.

We're at home so I expect a win.
Be nice if it was a proper knock-down drag-out affair too!!
I won't be including this on my betting coupon on Saturday though!!

If we're gonna slip up at home to them I'd prefer it to be this challenge cup game. Obviously I want and hope we do get the 2 points though!

I've got a feeling this game might not sell out. Will be the first time in a long time since that happened for a Shuff v Panthers match up.

Not suprised. Had to pay 17.50 each ticket ! On top of CHL and Season tickets.

Too........many........games......(against the same old, same old). I've booked to work an extra shift, so this'll be the first opening Panthers/Steelers game I'll have missed in a fair while. No doubt now it'll be a barn burner, but I'm just not enthused by the prospect of one of many Steelers games, especially not a stand alone early CC game.

I'm going, can't wait. Always a decent game and atmosphere.
Is Thomas suspended for this game? It would go someway to making up for Farmer being out.

Pretty sure he sat out his 1 game ban against five on the Sunday, so I expect him to be back. I think they have one guy out with concussion though. .. morency?

Is Thomas suspended for this game? No, Thomas sat out the game on the 14th September. In the same respect as that money off voucher for McDonalds I was handed in town earlier will go somewhere towards clearing the national debt.

Still think we will win. Maybe see if Betteridge is free to be 10th forward.
Going for 4-2 Panthers.

Hope you are right! Think this might be a cracker - the Steelers first line of Roy Fornay and Fretter looked superb against Fife, and Steeltalk is surprisingly positive about their new team - coverage here if you fancy it... Clearly Panthers are made of stronger stuff, and have had a lot more ice-time together, so should be an interesting game and could go either way. (Not coming down for this one myself - would love to watch a webstream, but you know how that goes at the NIC - will be there shouting for your boys against Hamburg next Tuesday instead)

Can't wait, love the atmosphere, certainly going to be great banter between the fans, hopefully the Refs will let play go on and not call penalties for minor things (not going to happen, I know) also hopefully this seasons Challenge Cup will be finished a lot sooner than the previous 2.

Th cc knock out round doesn't finish until jan 3rd. Then 2x qfs, then 2x sfs, then 1x final. I think it's still going to be march before it's done.
