I totally agree. Kelsall looks completely lost. Apart from his speed he really doesn't offer anything. I feel sorry for Archie. He was one of the bright sparks in the team when he was playing. Looked comfortable and completely at ease. Corey should be giving him as much ice time as possible to develop him for the future, but instead his ego wants to try and turn Kelsall into a Dman. If he is not careful Archie will be off to another team and who could blame him. Hazeldine got ice time yesterday And was -3 for the game. How has Ricci got the only assist on Panthers goal? It's surely 16 from 27 and 90? Was there a delayed penalty involved, as we have 6 on? (And Ricci is not one of them!)

“…while for the Steelers Robert Dowd had a guilt-edge opportunity to win it in overtime without converting.”
Now it’s embedded in the EIHL steam powered word processor… And the sentence end makes no sense.

Giants put Clan to the sword, but Flames win in Wales… Excellent performance by Guildford in Cardiff And 2 points at home going into the third 2 behind. Wheels not off yet.

Steelers score 1 goal in 125 minutes against Fife this weekend but prevent Fife scoring at all. They end up with a 4 point weekend. You only have to score one if you don’t concede any.

An hour in the loft reveals programmes for...
12 Dec 1994 Vs Manitoba Bison (featuring Karry Biette, Todd Dutiaume, and Dwayne Newman on the roster) 28 Jan 1995 vs Team Canada (feat Jeff Sebastian, Jamie Leach, David St Pierre and Marc Hussey) 17 Dec 1996 Vs Manitoba Bison (featuring Duncan Paterson) 28 January 1997 vs Team Japan 30 Aug 1997 vs Interlaken (Swiss 3rd level?) 17 November 2002 vs Princeton University (captained by I think, George Parros, and also featuring Dustin Sproat and Neil Stevenson-Moore)
Sadly, I have no records, gamesheet or notes from each evening, but a bit more flesh on the bones, so to speak.

20, allegedly. But then again there's no way of knowing who is a permanent signing, who is an injury replacement, who is a dodgy "loan" signing by Sheffield to circumvent the rules, etc, so you can probably sign as many as you like. We've had 21 with the new bloke. Yet another set of wishy washy rules then .. and they wonder why the league is tin pot ! Exactly. Not worth the fag packet that Tony wrote them on.

By my maths, he's their 22nd import signing this year.

Just looking at the Coventry Manchester game Wednesday. Blaze scored 3 goals in 26 seconds, Storm scored a goal 16 seconds before all that started, so the game went from 0-0 to 3-1 in 42 seconds. Surely they're the fastest 4 goals ever in an EIHL game, and surely they are the fastest 3 goals by one team ever in an EIHL game? Blaze's Frantti, Tallberg and Billings were on for all 3 goals. Blaze then got another, 3:14 after the first.

Shame he couldn't praise Fife. Bet he wouldn't complain if they won on pens Well, exactly. Absurd it may be, but them's the rules, and he knew that. Goodness knows what happened at the second break, but it's made my day.

Didn’t they have a hit in the 80s with Walk the Dinosaur?
Mystery solved how Steelers fluffed it. “Vallerand saw a guilt-edge chance fly off Owen's shoulder, …”

Panthers PP under GG/CN
Powerplay GG 8/34 23.5% CN 11/67 16.4%
Penalty Kill GG 43/56 76.8% CN 61/70 87.1%
CN has marginally improved the overall special teams play, but Panthers still occupy mid table positions in these ranks. Panthers have the worst PP of any EIHL team in their last 15 GP. (5/36 = 13.9%)

A fairly even game until the end. Jones was the busier of the two, although we having more shots in the first most were into the chest. After how Hammond played in the GB games, hoped he would be on form, but alas no. The new guy looked ok, and once settled in will hopefully show the others how to score. Was hoping that we might get the win, and with only on penalty there was a chance, as the CN powerplay is and was dire; too much passing, passing, passing, gets blocked and cleared, repeat. Roupp had been praised for how he had played for GB, pity he's such a nob. He'd ko'd a player by hitting him in the head from a shot and moaned about the play being whistled dead. Agreed, pretty classless from Ruopp. All Giants players on ice banged their sticks as Brady was helped off. Not Ruopp.

Early signs are good. Quick and skilful. Not the biggest player, though.

Looks like the report on the Giants game completely misses describing Giants first goal, going straight to the empty netter after being 0-0 after 40.

At times, Giants looked like they were on the PP even though they weren’t, and the D were chasing shadows. Too many players just not performing, sadly. Too many obvious passes intercepted, too many panic giveaways, too many hit and hopes, too much keeping the puck until the moment is gone. Ferrara just looks lost. Panthers have done quite the number on him.

Lucky to score 0, frankly. I’d love to count the giveaways we make in our own end one game. I’d need a calculator.

Per the GRS Jones backed up by Bloor, no Hazeldine, 6 import D (incl #25), Lahtinen starts alongside Hammond and Brady. Besko gets the start for Giants.

I definitely wouldn't have said Ackered was a lazy signing. He's a known quantity. Lahtinen is a (relatively) unknown quantity, of course I'm hopeful he could have a positive impact on the rest of the season. But then again he could be another Hedberg. Apart from one is one from Sweden and the other is Finnish yup I think they were after comparing his impact, rather than his nationality.

Who? Anyway surely Steelers must be over the limit it seems like they've signed 32 players now lol With maths like that I'd like to play poker with you. Steelers have signed 20 non-UK players this season now. 17 skaters, 3 netminders. 2 have left (Ostlund and Raska) so they have 18 "imports" signed currently, including Ackered. I believe at least 2 are currently injured. That is the limit, I think, unless they get some "loan players" in.

By whom? I wouldn't say so. Known quantities have a value at this stage of the season. See also Vallerand. Let's not forget, both players we're discussing here are on the rebound from injury, so neither is a "premium" signing, IMHO. Lahtinen wants a chance to prove himself in a better league than the AlpsHL. Good lad, bring it on. Let' see what you got. Ackered could be a masterstroke, I think, but is coming off a relatively poor season so far. He's only played an average of around 10 minutes per game (232 mins in 21 games) so far? Masterstroke? They've signed Calle Ackerad not Cale Makar! Time will tell. Your over the hill guy is a point a game so far, better than all the Panthers.

Probably because there isn't much to say about him. Nowadays a typical Panthers signing. What is a typical panthers signing? I can guarantee if Panthers signed Ackerad it would be classed as a Lazy signing .. By whom? I wouldn't say so. Known quantities have a value at this stage of the season. See also Vallerand. More discussion about Sheffield’s signing than our own this week Probably because there isn't much to say about him. Nowadays a typical Panthers signing. He’s a signing. Which makes him relatively atypical in Pantherland. I’m looking forward to seeing him play. Hope he has a bit of speed about him.
