That's a shock and a big signing for the Stars. It surely is both of those.

Ex-Giant Steve Owre ends the season in the ICEHL as top scorer, which is an impressive feat. Will play next year in the Swiss second tier.

I bet some behind the scenes weren't easy to deal with though. I get that. Iggy said that GM wasnt easy Glad to hear that things have improved in Omar. The fact Otto is back speaks volumes for me Yes I’ve also heard that GM wasn’t the most likeable character but then that never stopped Clarkey, Myers, Meyers, Lacho, Galbraith, Kowalski, Lepine, Fox, Benedict etc staying many years Indeed, he was a bit of a marmite kind of guy, but let's not confuse the issue with facts, eh? Plenty of players have stayed multiple years. Some don't.

Being not very tech savvy I had nightmare trying to renew and upgrade ST on line ending up with a shopping trolly full of stuff I couldn't get rid of. Rang the arena and a lovely lady sorted it out in about 2 mins and took payment. I had the same issue, the emails we received were too wordy and felt it was easy to go in the wrong direction. I eventually found the right link to the renewal/upgrade option. Felt it was more complicated than it needed to be Have you fed this back to the Arena?

If the rumoured increase to teams happens, do we see more league fixtures or the same but spread across more teams? Who knows? Another team would create a 60 game season, 30 home games, in the same format as now.

I was mystified by the DJ announcing every goal, as soon as it happened, before Stef gets to announce the actual scorers and all that. "And there's the first and equalising goal for the Steelers. Where are the Steelers fans?" etc. Adds nothing, to me at least. I'm glad Stef is the announcer, he's the best imo Yes, a soothing pool of constancy in an ocean of chaos. Mindfulness in a voice.

Steelers always controlled the last period and would probably have upped a gear if Belfast scored. Belfast huffed and puffed but didn't have the players to match what has turned out to be a quite exceptionally skilled team this season. Even more impressive when only 11 of the Steelers's skaters played over 15 minutes in the final. One thing I did notice is that Tansey is a big lad who throws himself about, you wouldn't want to be a forward with him there.

"Rule 41.3 The Referee, at their discretion, may assess a Major Penalty to a Player guilty of “boarding” an opponent, and who recklessly endangers the fouled Player in a way that at the discretion of the Referee such Player would not be sufficiently sanctioned by imposing a Minor Penalty."
There's a lot of referee leeway in boarding penalties. Fairly unusual to have a major for boarding without a game.
Did they review it, as per the groovy new video available? NEW FOR FINALS WEEKEND: Major Penalties (Game officials must call a Major/2+2 (High Sticking) and then review it. Upon review may uphold the original call, reduce to a "minor, or remove the penalty entirely)"

Looking like a costly 5 minute boarding penalty for Printz, 2-0 Sheffield. Hope that call was correct. Not a good idea for Giants. Steelers PP looked excellent yesterday. Looks like it looks good today, too...

Have they said how Vallerand is? Looked a nasty injury yesterday. Fox said in the postgame interview that he was done for the weekend. Achilles tendon injury, I think.

I'm also surprised that the period breaks aren't used for something. Its definitely something the Panthers do quite well now. Looks to me, with 2 slow Zambonis, that they’re prioritising ice conditions over on ice entertainment.

Bizarre they dont link to the full awards and all star team(s). MVP would be Weninger for me. Lewis Hook must’ve peed off a lot of people, he scored more points than Dowd and was top scorer for his team.

Brilliant, and well done to all involved! A shining light in this years team, as has been mentioned these types of players tend to move on after good seasons. Hopefully more from this years team plus Cangelosi and Perlini and you’re laughing. God loves a dreamer... One of those 2 would be very nice, to be fair. Two would be sensational.

Lemay rumoured to not be returning. Not hugely disappointed, but equally would have been happy enough if he was back as a 2nd/3rd liner with his goals. Great shot on him (our powerplay was focused on him) but never felt he was ever our main threat. Indubitably, a cannon of a shot, and some shows of very nice skills, but objectively, I think his stats perhaps tell the story. Led the team (and joint second in the whole league for PPGs) with 9 PPGs and 6 assists on the PP, and also led the team in SOGs. But only 13+7 at even strength in 51 GP, and a horrible, outlying, team-worst -28. Some games looked a potential world beater, other games anonymous. Only 1 point (and -9) in 5 GP vs Steelers, but filled his boots vs Coventry, Dundee and Glasgow (20 points vs those 3, but still only -1). I think he's perhaps had better seasons.

I often wonder if the pandemic never happened, could that have been Panthers that tied Herr down and made him C for multiple years. If only if only.... Indeed. A player and a half.

There are much better things to do with my time these days than watch that crap. You mean like endlessly trawling forums frequented by fans of "that crap", delighting and revelling in misfortune and negativity? That doesn't sound like you've left anything behind, let alone "it". That's the sound of someone who can't let go, not someone who has. Comedy gold.

How was he "technically ineligible"? He passed a concussion test and was cleared to play? "Karjalainen passed a precautionary concussion test prior to the game and was confirmed to be fit and ready to play on the completion of pre-game warm-up. Had Karjalainen not passed this precautionary concussion test, he would not have been cleared to play." That's you just making stuff up again? Lol I saw the original un edited interview,Morgan said the goalie had a concussion and a sprained wrist too,no mention he had even had any test. You think or believe what you like,I think the EIHL are just trying to cover up a very bad cockerel up. That's just the point isn't it? Whilst the interview said that, it's been subsequently clarified. You still want to have the interview as your only source? You're just ignoring the later clarifications (from the club, its captain and the league) as it suits your agenda. There are professional medical people involved at the Clan who I'm sure wouldn't want themselves involved in any underhand doings. And what specifically makes a player "technically ineligible" anyway? Do tell... Maybe Morgan chose his words badly, used them loosely, or maybe he didn't frame his comments properly, or not, but you can't unequivocally infer any kind of "We knowingly forced a medically unfit goalie to play because we wanted to get in the play offs" mess up from a single interview, made shortly after the Clan's season (that promised so much, let's not forget) had just been ended. We'll agree to differ. No one comes out of this smelling of roses, no, but that doesn't necessarily mean there are nefarious goings on.

Strange situation in Glasgow, with the coach suggesting the netminder had a concussion during the final game with Cardiff, then all hands to the pump to backtrack given the player welfare issue that brings up. www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3874-glasgow-post-game-interviewIs Morgan already signed on for next year? I know they've tied up Pelech and Combs, but I'd assume there'll have to be a bit of turnover up there given their worst ever performance. The assistant coach has already gone. Would have been very interesting to see what would have happened had Clan won the tie and then Cardiff appealed against the Clan playing a guy who technically was ineligible and shouldn’t have played. Lol No wonder the EIHL gets called a “beer league”….it is ! 🙄 How was he "technically ineligible"? He passed a concussion test and was cleared to play? "Karjalainen passed a precautionary concussion test prior to the game and was confirmed to be fit and ready to play on the completion of pre-game warm-up. Had Karjalainen not passed this precautionary concussion test, he would not have been cleared to play." That's you just making stuff up again? Lol

I saw the above on X. Bizarre stuff. Indeed, all appears to be based on the internet's interpretation of what a "mild concussion" is and what it means. Never a good idea to get an interview when emotions are still high. No-one comes out of it smelling of roses.
