Neill - seems to be the heart of the team. Won't stop trying to do what he does best, which is to be a 200ft player. Wish he'd score more. Caruso - turns up every night, doesn't shy away from the physical stuff, makes mistakes, shrugs them off cos he's got(very)broad shoulders. Wish he'd played for us earlier in his career. Kelsall - yes honestly. Knows his limits, plays to them. Won't ever get picked for the GB team but keeps going from first to last minute. Roy - sometimes you think he's not there but of any-one, can pop up with a goal if we need it. Nieminen - smart, good hands, good shot, can take a check. Disappears in some games but always turns up.

is there any mileage to swapping n/m for the shootout ? It works (sometimes) in Football if one keeper is more agile. Love to see it, just once !

Would be nice to have a bit of positive news on the injury front this week. A few more back in the lineup can only help. Start of a busy month, 10 games in 23 days (I think). Same guys still out. No Welsh, McGurty, Tetlow or Betteridge. Which basically limits them to one 'all out' performance over the weekend. Hope it's tonight.

now that VIAPLAY SPORT EXTRA has disappeared, is VIAPLAY going to still show the games on one of their other channels which require payment ?

Absolutely. Seriously high end skills (he "dummied" a Steeler on Saturday, intercepting a puck, and left him in the middle of last week, a superb bit of skill, and he clearly sees the ice really well) but the speed (or lack of it) is costing him just now. I thought he may get a bit quicker as he got fitter (having not played this year until joining us) but he doesn't seem to have done. Undoubtedly has the ability to be head and shoulders the best Dman in the league but I must admit he hasn't got himself in better shape or up to speed as quickly as expected. i've noticed a few times he does the Taylor Doherty trick of head manning the puck out of defence, then chasing after his own dump in to the corner, meaning he's out of position and one of our smaller forwards has to drop back onto defence to cover while he eventually ambles back.

If he plays tomorrow, we need the same from him but I’d like to see him take it up a level. Try and get under Sheffield’s skin, attempt to get them off their game, draw them into scuffles in the play and disrupt them Which is what he did. His best (home) game so far. Could have scored in the third. Keep it up !

Last night was a poor performance for half a game. But give some credit to Glasgow. They changed the way they were playing after the second period and reaped the rewards. From where i was sat, in the second period they were playing the puck out to one wing, to try and free up a man on the opposite wing for a shot on goal. They managed this but it didn't bring any rewards, the goal coming from a good move up the middle. in the 3rd they passed to the wings or won a face off and set up a screen in front of Robinson, which worked as they either scored direct from the shot or got tips for three of the goals. (The final two coming as a result of Panthers over pressing.) But you need the players to do this, someone to win the face off, strong players who won't be easily shifted in front of the net, and good shooters. Panthers d-men weren't able to clear the net so it was inevitable they would find a way. And as I said to my friend with me, Robinson concedes goals in bunches.

What can you say, the third period was tough to watch and I left that game dumbfounded and a bit angry that we’d blown a 3-1 lead, especially when we were cruising. Kevin Moore’s post game interview brought me back round to realising that there’s more to be upset about than losing that game tonight I noticed how KM immediately went and had a few words with Roy after the missed p/s, and with Robinson when he was trying hard to smash his stick near the end.

Previous seasons, a defeat like this and I'd be angry, upset, disappointed, wanting solutions or changes. This season...I just want it to be over. For everyones sake. Then wipe the slate and start again. Again. It really doesn't matter if the players were good enough or not before that night, they shouldn't have to keep putting themselves through this, for their or our sakes.

For those with long memories, that’s 2 Farleys who have played for Panthers very briefly without impressing before moving on. Let's hope this Farley's replacement has the same impact as Sean Farley's replacement. the one and only Dan Dorion. in his first season tallied 71+83=154pts in 39 games. Second season 'struggled' to 26+12=38pts in 13 games and was released, landing in Humberside and knocking us out of the playoff semi final with the assist in overtime for the gwg. Wonder what he's doing now ?

first visit of the season to LPS for the Clan which means the first chance for either Lacho or Darien Craighead to do the puck drop. Pity Craighead's father couldn't come over for the game.

Brandon Whistle might not be fit in time either so there could be others stepping in.

Christophe Boivin rejoins Amiens, having been released at the end of last season. Quinn Preston, who recently left Giants for personal reasons, has rejoined his former ECHL club Wichita Thunder.

Not going too well for Cardiff in game one, 3-1 down to Astana. Lost 5-2. Need a win today against GKS, who beat Herning on p/s

Robinson in goal…. No Rok. Hazeldine didn’t make it. Farley didn’t make it. McKenzie named, and Pare also named. I see McKenzie has left Telford today, so assume he’s full time with us now. Hazeldine is on the gamesheet
