An interesting article from Joe. It’s been a tough season in terms of results and point tallies but I’d pick the following 5:
Hugo Roy - Works hard at both ends of the ice, carries the puck with speed, I feel he’s been our best player so far this season.
Otto Nieminen - Not blisteringly quick but skates well and his built up good chemistry with Roy. He’s a clever player and he has impressed me around the net, even if he’s probably not scored as many as he should. Doesn’t get pushed around in the corners or on the boards either.
Logan Neilson - Not picked up many points but as a 1st year pro I certainly feel we’ve got the makings of a decent offensive forward on our hands. Despite not scoring, his shot release looks quick, I’m praying he can pick up a few goals over the next few weeks. He’s got the height and the ability, as he gets older and more capable he could be a force.
Didrik Henbrant - Speed. You can never go wrong with it. He’s got it an abundance. For me he’s already excelled my expectations of what he was going to bring this season.
Mike Caruso - Some might disagree but I feel that Caruso has been vastly improved compared to last season. He’s still a bit too slow and probably picks up too many minors, but he is playing with a physical edge this season which has been good to see.

Agree regarding Roy and Neill. Definitely agree about Kevin Moore. I hope he stays with the club for a long time and gets promoted to head coach.
Can’t say I agree about Welsh. Though he may work hard and defensively good, for an arena club you can’t have an import forward who only contributes 1 goals and 7 points in 24 league games

Nah, you can’t say anything good about Carl Neill due to his +/- rating 🤫

Neill - seems to be the heart of the team. Won't stop trying to do what he does best, which is to be a 200ft player. Wish he'd score more. Caruso - turns up every night, doesn't shy away from the physical stuff, makes mistakes, shrugs them off cos he's got(very)broad shoulders. Wish he'd played for us earlier in his career. Kelsall - yes honestly. Knows his limits, plays to them. Won't ever get picked for the GB team but keeps going from first to last minute. Roy - sometimes you think he's not there but of any-one, can pop up with a goal if we need it. Nieminen - smart, good hands, good shot, can take a check. Disappears in some games but always turns up.

Interesting, yes. Well written, no. For a journalist you'd expect better grammer and structure; reads like a series of cut and paste sentences.

Another shout for Kelsall, who perhaps misses out on the love sometimes. Mr Versatile, does it all (it turns out). Never going to score you 75 points, but bats a bit, bowls a bit, fields anywhere, probably could play in goal if he tried, that kind of thing, all seamlessly. Every good team needs one. A shame you don't seem to be able to see all players' TOI in a single table. I suspect Neill'd be right up there in leading the league. I make him an average 26:38 (next biggest is Michaud at an average of 21:16) and only once has he played <20 minutes. He's played over 30 minutes in 6 games.

Id go with Westin michuad - a ton of assists puts the effort in and is great at harassing the opponents in their own zone and cause a lot of turnovers .
Kellsall does whatever he is told defence or offence doesn't complain works tirelessly. He is never going to score lots of goals but is a utility player . Put him anywhere and he will do the job he just doesn't look like he flaps.
Henbrandnt I'm going to be honest I wasn't expecting a lot from him . He has so much energy he works so so hard and clearly has the skills to take players on and score . Really an effective player
Roy and lemay really do look dangerous going forward some excellent stick handling and speed and are getting better and better at catching opponents on the break .
Honourable mention , Luciani only been in for 8 and he looks like a guy who has come to compete and plays with high energy.he looks dangerous every time he skates at the opponents he plays the body when needed he brings players into the game with his passing . A really good pick up and exactly what we needed

Roy - Dangerous with the puck but also works hard at both ends. Amazing that a player as involved as him hasn't picked up a single penalty yet. He's class and should be the first name on the roster for next year.
Neill - tireless worker, the number of minutes he's logged this season already is crazy. Has settled into a good partnership with Caruso now. Also contributes with assists but I'd love him to shoot more.
Kelsall - does what he's asked and never let's the team down. That assist last week was sublime and he's usually good for at least one highlight reel goal per season.
Michaud - Yes, he turns over the puck just a little too much and he is guilty of sometimes holding on to it too long but his awareness on the ice is the best on the roster. I really couldn't see why they split him from Lemay a couple of weeks ago but it shows what I know. He's been superb since joining Neilsen and Lunsjö.
Lunsjö - I probably would have picked Welsh a few weeks ago but others have improved whilst he's been out. I struggled a bit with Lunsjö earlier in the season as he didn't seem to be making an impact on games but in recent weeks he's been really good. Niggly, causes turnovers (Michaud getting assist of the week the other night was a travesty as Lunsjö made that goal happen with his graft behind the goal) and scores good goals.

I’m going to be a little greedy and pick 6
Roy and Lemay give us goals
Neil is quality and we would struggle to get better
Michaud, Lunsjo and Nieminen (with 3 X 6ft plus forwards to come in ps real 6fters not EP stats 6fters who are really 5ft 10 Lol)
I’d be happy with all the Brits returning gives continuity

For me I would definitely bring back Roy and Neil. Both are quality that you need to build a successful team.
I would also bring back Tetlow and Hazledine. To have two good British Dmen and 4 quality import D would give us the advantage of having 10 import forwards. If the rules stay the same.
Logan is the 5th I would bring back. Ideally with a fit Ollie.
With a Brit match day backup and two import Nettie's. That would give us our 5 match day Brits with 15 imports if the rules stay the same.
I would ideally like us to sign a starting squad of 22 players. Two import Netties and sign Kelsall as a spare utility player. With the injuries you always get every year Kelsall would still get to play the majority of the season and would give us an advantage of not having to sign injury cover or play short as much as we have this year.
