When has that ever meant anything with our arena?

the "swansong" for Kalus is an absolutely ludicrous press release. He wanted to play so they are letting him?! This sort of decision is what is leading to a lot of unrest within certain parts of the fanbase.
yes we need the body due to injuries however, giving someone called " crazy pete" the chance to suit up for us after we've sacked him could be risky, who's to say he wont go into business for himself and do something stupid at a key time jeopardizing our chances? yes that may be far fetched but its not out of the realms of possibility.

Despite how horrendous as our recent run has been I really want us to qualify from this weekend and progress to the super final.
For as much as I do want us to go through part of me kinda wants us to not qualify as I am intrigued as to what the fall out will be. There is no secret that Neil Black is desperate for European success and I feel that winning this competition is Corey's primary objective for this season, so for him to fail at this stage coupled with our poor league run, poor performances etc it will be interesting to see what may happen.

I think a simple badge would be better With respect, what on earth is a badge going to achieve? The organisation won't notice it, people in the crowd won't notice it. If it is to signify you are a person that wants change then fair enough but why not do something more proactive?

Why do people expect all players to be in 100% perfect, solid physical physique? Like i said, size affects everyone differently. Could Carter be carrying a knock? Maybe. Could Carter naturally just be slow and his effort levels just aren't portrayed as a result? Possibly. People have said McGrattan is lazy, is that just him or is it because he's a 235lbs, 6'4" beast? Why do people assume the easiest, most annoying possible option? Very few ever explore alternate possibilities on this forum, it's infuriating. Why can't people think, consider things before making accusations based upon nothing but what they've seen? What you see isn't and never has or ever will be the full story. 'McGrattan is useless, lazy, doesn't want to be here'.. (Seen lots say things along those lines), i think if people look beyond what they see and think after a second of thinking, they'll find that McGrattan is a key player, he's enjoying it over here, misses his family but is still really glad to be here and enjoying playing hockey rather than getting the odd shift to punch someone. It was you that brought up his weight no one else, Now you're saying he maybe has a knock trying to dig out the hole you've created with a ridiculous opening statement. Just give this one up as a lost cause.

Do you honestly believe what you've written there? If so, wow! believe what? That he's one of the heaviest on the team? and as a result he doesn't have the legs to skate quickly or turn on a dime like Lindhagen? And that he needs to try and push a bit harder? Completely unbelievable stuff right there! Why not shoot me, I'm clearly a deluded danger to the forum! what do you put on your coco pops in the morning? is carter your dad? effort levels have nothing to do with weight whatsoever, your argument is well and truly ridiculous.

To add to Carter's laziness comments, they are fair but he weighs 207lbs.. one of the heaviest on the team after McGrattan and Kudroc. His 'laziness' is down to his size, he doesn't have the legs to move his weight around at high speeds, or in agile ways. He does need to push himself harder though, no denying that HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA what a pathetic reason!!! It doesn't matter how much you weigh, laziness is an attitude nothing to do with weight!

Just a FYI regarding Carter and the term 'recently'.. He had 3pts in 2 games last weekend. Of course, nothing outstanding but he was undoubtedly one of our better guys last weekend and he deserves credit for that. i don't think he really deserves much credit, certainly watching on sunday he didnt do much of note other than one pass for the goal. a player that was going to be lauded as one of our main creative influences and a stand out player so far has failed miserably in my opinion. with Schultz and Lawrence out he has had a brilliant opportunity to really take games by the scruff of the neck and make things happen which with his incoming reputation he was more than capable of doing.

It's completely the correct outlook & makes anyone suggesting playing the back up nettie in this game look a bit of a wally. My car & house are secure. The word 'back up' does not do Pacl justice, not even an ounce. He's of similar or better quality than the netminders of probably half/a third of the teams in the league. Age and initial point of his signing doesn't mean he is of not good enough quality to start a few games. Look at it bluntly, Miika shipped 5 against Storm.. Pacl shipped 1 against Devils who have been touted since August to have the most destructive forward core. That probably is looking at it in a non-suitable way but Pacl's hot, Miika's annoyed. It does do Pacl Justice, he is our back up goalie, he may be on par with other netminders in the league but not wiikman, 1 good game doesn't make a hot goalie. Wiikman is our #1 so he should start the league game, no question!

I like the quote from Corey in the post along the lines of "the points on Saturday are the priority, then we'll find a solution for Sunday"
It's refreshing to actually see us prioritising the league, I would happily sacrifice the challenge cup points to ensure we get he league points on Saturday.

Worrying? Really? Maybe they just decided to rest him and save him the travel, Clarke has travelled in his capacity as assistant coach which makes sense. Saving him the gametime I get, but travel? Really? In all likelihood it will make no difference, but imagine if Pacl got injured with 5 minutes left and we concede late goals with Greener to throw away 2 points. It's just a bit tinpot if we're letting him have the night off unless he has a niggle that he needs to rest (that is what makes it worrying btw). Wow that scenario is ridiculously over the top kind of negative, I would suggest avoiding tall buildings! If you had no real need to do a 7 HR round trip and sit with a clipboard for three hours you'd be buzzing to be given the time off! Knowing him being more injury prone than most given the opportunity to give him extra rest with a run of league games coming this is a very sound and proactive decision by the coaches.

According to EIHL game sheet it's Pacl and Green. Why wouldn't Miika be on the bench? Worrying. Worrying? Really? Maybe they just decided to rest him and save him the travel, Clarke has travelled in his capacity as assistant coach which makes sense.

Found a friend who can take me to Rugby (which has a much later train to Birmingham) on his way back down the M1 if I miss the train. So should be there. There's a relief

A solid win, a much better performance going forward with some good chances created. Steelers proved if you are Ill disciplined or make mistakes they will punish you but defensively they have issues, especially with Muskutovs in net, he is still poor and his D do not seem organised enough to clear up his mess at times, hopefully we continue to exploit this in future games against steelers.
McGrattan did about all he could in the circumstances however I really thought he'd have a tilt to set the tone now he's here, especially when we were 2 goals up. He needs a lot of credit for how he dragged Fitzgerald out of position to allow our scorer to ghost in for the 3rd. It's good to see he will have an impact on the team and not just on the oppositions faces!
Farmer is doing a fantastic job so far this season, he is our unsung hero so far for me, he could be a real asset this season, I hope this is the year he fulfills his potential for us.
It's good to have another win on the board in the CC, we need to at least win our 2 home games to come in the completion and that should see us through which is all that matters.
I am very surprised Panthers missed a trick to make some money with the shirt of his back raffle, arguably the biggest name signing we've ever made with a near sell out crowd, they pick that guys shirt and they don't print nearly enough tickets to what they could've sold, very odd move.

There is nothing wrong with a 2-0 win at home against a team who will be a potential challenger for the league title. We acquitted ourselves to get the job done.
If last night is our approach for the season (especially at home) it will only be tolerable if we win the title, if The results do not keep coming and that's what we've got to look forward to it will be a very long season. Hopefully the arrival of McGrattan will afford our players a bit more space and we see a bit more creativity.
