He was on their Instagram account a few weeks ago helping out in the community with another player - Senators had maybe 4 or 5 posts with him as the main focus

Entertaining game but the forward lines aren't really clicking right now. Why Bombach and Schultz aren't paired up is bewildering to me - the first line their share tonight and we score! I'm sure goals will come but the guys aren't linking passes yet. McMillan has impressed me a lot so far but he can't do it all himself.
Defensively we look strong and solid, you can't really ask for more.
As for Janssen, the guy isn't going to get many goals or assists, but crickey what a character!! To stare down Nickerson and have Ollie Betteridge throwing hits on him just shows the impact he has. Fife turned up most games in the past 2 years and Nickerson had a field day, today he didn't want to know.

Not for me, it was literally 'we allocate you the best ticket'... Wherever that is. What time did you go? Like I said, I had no issues whatsoever, and that was at around 18.15. Would have been 18.30... Could depend on the person serving too I suppose.

Do you still get to say you want a gold/silver/bronze category ticket? Not for me, it was literally 'we allocate you the best ticket'... Wherever that is.

It's just a classic example of 'computer says no' customer service.
I walked up on Saturday and asked for a seat in a certain block where my friends could sit (because I don't want to battle my way around at the break to see them). The answer was that they select me the 'best seats' and that I can't specify a block, which in their mind was block 17 when I'm in 4...!
By all means offer the best seat, so when i say I want seats in block 4 they could quite easily say 'No problem, although in block 4 we have seats on row X and just to let you know we have seats in a better position and closer to the ice in block 17 in row E...' Letting me decide.
If you've never been before and they help you find the best seat then great, but when you walk up and know the arena I don't understand the hostile reaction.
It would be interesting to find out who it is who believes great customer service is built on a one-way dialogue of 'you are going to sit here tonight'.

It's incredibly odd that they report players arriving like we're expecting a new signing...?

As far as we can gather going by CHL results, we are light years away from the Swedes, competitive and not too far off the Finns & can hold our own with a similar standard to the Germans.
I would still regard all as higher quality in general as leagues over the EIHL. But as a British league, we have in the 5-6 years leaped forward massively.
I'd be interested to see how we are seen by other leagues though - especially this year with the amount of ex-NHL players are in the league, plus the raft of guys who've come directly in from other top Euro leagues (namely Austria)...

A Salters type player next please... Under-30, can chip in with goals but an intimidator who doesn't just drop the gloves for the hell of it

Depends heavily on Panthers last 3 signings... However it's hard to look past Braehead and Cardiff for honours.
Steelers and Belfast looked good but Clan with Holt in nets looks a different prospect.

Through nothing other than a sheer hunch/wish, I'm still thinking it'll be the Donati brothers

Could be a stand out player or could just go missing for long spells.
Talented but lacked determination and passion (especially with his size and strength)
Wasn't really on the radar to try and keep

Well that must have been plan A - seem to remember him being in the Geneva squad that played us a few years ago..

Odd one for me. Not much to get enthusied by if honest. Not bad stats but not great either - a good year in Austria and OK in a difficult VHL league in Russia.
Some reports saying he works hard and has the will to win games, other reports say about his 'training issues'.
Jury's out really on this one. Although, as a Panther fan, seeing this signing compared to Beech, Leavitt etc. I'm a little deflated...

A later season Cameron Mann was pretty good. I rated Bob Wren until he ran into injury issues too Mann was 32 when he played for us, so hardly an 'older player' really. Think kingmonkeybutt was more of the meaning of players being a lot older than that, which your next choice in Wren fits the bill, sadly he would go into the marmite section for me though, which I daren't participate in. Mann fits the 'amazing experience' bit though surely?

with the obvious exception of ling have we ever had an older player with amazing experience who absolutely killed it? A later season Cameron Mann was pretty good. I rated Bob Wren until he ran into injury issues too

From around the league, I really don't rate Adam Keefe.
We've seen many others play his role far better - Finnerty, Bruce Richardson etc. To be fair, I've only ever seen him at the NIC, but I've never seen him play a game where he had a positive impact... More than usual he's a hothead who gets himself embroiled in chasing players and going for cheap shots. Not a terrible player but overall I just think he's overrated.
On the flip side, the Tanaka brothers.
They're quick, draw penalties and both have a bit a skill about them too. If they made up 2/3rds on the Panthers 3rd line I wouldn't be unhappy. Again just going on performances in the NIC, but I've seen both of those guys dominate play and win games.

I remember when Hull last went bust, Panthers picked up a certain Gui Lepine who'd been signed earlier in the summer.
Could there be another gem sat in there?

When I saw the building around 'a couple of players' I immediately though of the Donati brothers... Just one of those feelings.
