Age is a little higher than I expected but doesn't look to be injury prone and his points are great and consistent.
Hopefully has leadership qaulities too.
Cuts travel costs if they qualify for a bus pass!

Cuts travel costs if they qualify for a bus pass! Looks a good signing on paper, hopefully more David Ling than Bob Wren.

Another fantastic signing, never had the pace according to his elite prospects bio, so wont have lost any of that, and Ling could still do it at 38 so why cant this bloke.
scored over a ppg in Finnish Liiga only 2 years ago for the short time he was there, our forwards have the potential to be lethal this season
good things come to those who wait... (on paper anyway!)

Some positive reports on Twitter.

As Yotes previously said - we have to hope that he (Moran) is more David Ling then Bob Wren!

As with all signings we can only go on past stats but this signing to me has made us look so so strong, on his own it is great but when you weigh up we have Kolnik as well to make plays and run 2 different PP units we look to have got some serious scoring potential. If Clarke is back to his best I can see him scoring a hat full of goals with these two around, .

Bob Wren 536 AHL games for 502 points at 0.94PPG Not wanting to pee your parade but stats dont mean everything Quite obviously you do. Stats is all we have and early indications are good. Some positive reports on Twitter. I thought Wren looked good but it didnt work out that way. I think Moran looks good and i'm looking forward to seeing him play. Just aware that stats count for something but not everything. Hope hes more Ling than Wren, a decent centre is something i don't think we've had since Tessier/Gallant.

Wren was also going at comfortably over a point a game for Panthers and wasn't far off Ling's point total from his 1st 15 or so games. If we had of played a full season fully fit i'm sure we would have put up north of 70 points.

Looks a quality addition on the face of it, hope he lives up to expectations (if he's motivated he should tear it up over here).
The key thing to look at when comparing him to Bob Wren was that Wren was a speedy skater who relied on his pace to create room, whereas that was not something that David Ling needed. It doesn't appear Moran relies on pace either based on his Elite Prospects sypnosis (same goes for Kolnik) which is a good sign.
I think when we got Wren it was just a year too far for his legs not through any lack of ability or trying.
The thought of having Schultz and Bombach whizzing around with Moran and Kolnik pulling the strings is quite exciting!

Fox in his first season (before being moved to defence in his second) was the perfect 1st line centre.

Bob Wren 536 AHL games for 502 points at 0.94PPG Not wanting to pee on your parade but stats dont mean everything Firstly again good use of the MBa at Loughborough. Secondly with regard to Bob Wren he had serious health issues which were not diagnosed until later. At the time he could not understand why he often had low energy levels. A lot of the criticism he has attracted are very unfair. Lets hope he is the one whom CN has been very particular to get as the play making centre, which has been missing.

Oooooh,i like this signing a lot....now I'm off for a lie down !
As for Bob Wren,he had a bad foot which we knew when we signed him,it didn't get better so he agreed to go and that is why GM described him as a gentleman when he chose to leave rather than sit collecting his wages.
