If we don't have any suspensions, why isn't Garnett or Kovacs not icing? Kovacs is on the naughty step and won’t play again for the Panthers Other than poor play (which a few could be held accountable for) has he done anything in particular to be the constant healthy scratch?

First 10 minutes are key! Start fast, play a high energy first period, hit everything that moves and get in on the forecheck. Plenty of pucks on net with traffic in front.

Dowd has a young family so wont venture too far from Sheffield. If Smith csbt match his demands theres only one club who could realistically fund it If Steeler's do have a limited budget (in relative terms), I think you'd get more bang for your buck out of Imports. If they have to limit their spending then you need to get the best return on your investment and I think a high scoring import would be cheaper than his comparable Brit. That said in think there'd be huge anger in the fanbase if they let him go, especially to us. For that reason, even if they could justify it in cost/performance terms, I think they'd never let him go. Scott Allison and Dion Darling both huge names for the steelers made the short trip down the M1 to wear our colours. It’s possible.

Good luck to any Guildford and Glasgow fans who can't travel to their away legs. Any idea what game Freesports are showing No coverage on the Saturday Coverage starts at 5:30pm Sunday so it’s either Cardiff v Sheffield Or Clan v Flames I’d assume they’ll go with Cardiff v Sheffield

Just finished eating my words when I claimed it was all done and dusted when Mardiff took a 4 point lead. Glad they didn’t get the three-peat and happy enough to see the giants win the league. I bet tonight was gut wrenching for the fans of both team, I was hooked on the updates coming through via social media! Here’s hoping panthers are in the hunt up until the last day next season . . . And come away with the goods! We’ve had good battles this season for playoff positions and the league title. Overall a win for the EIHL even though it’s still a bit of a farse. Giants for the grand slam?

Who is Panthers one key player for the Play-Offs ? Have to say whoever starts between the pipes. But, picking a potential "impact" player who could emerge as the key to our chances, I'll nominate Hughes or Hurtubise. Surely got to be looking at Stewart? He could single handedly win it for us if he comes out with his very best effort over the 4 games.

Oh yeah of cause we can attract better players with playing in the CC. Players like bloody Matt Carter hey! All I’m saying is that it opens options, hopefully we have players returning who have slightly better hockey friends to come join us.

We’ll have the lure of European competition to attract better players. It’s a shopping window after all for them to showcase what they could offer a better team. Following that if we were to win the continental cup we’d be in the CHL which is an even bigger incentive. Get our game right and we can beat anyone (apart from in Scotland). I’m sure Mr Black is informing those below he wants Europe next season via the playoffs

In a league where you MUST have British players on your roster getting Dowd in should be a no brainier, we’ve got the cash, we simple retain Perlini, Farmer, Ollie and Lee as our senior Brits and keep our U23’s as well and bring Dowd in alongside them, he’s certainly import standard and it hits the quota. Then bring back a selection of imports from this season (Stewart Pither Guptil Henderson Lepine Bolduc Hughes Olsen Rissling Munson) and bring in 5 other top end imports a Ling, Jade, DAB and Fox and Galbraith (goalie) one goalie dresses with same as back up or dress both and run a spare Import say and it’s party time! An expensive party I’ll admit but hey the club would make it back in ticket revenue, sponsorships and Merchandise.

All those that want to leave please do, the teams that remain scrap the import/Brit rule and join a European league with other teams who are in a similar position. And do you have any suggestions for the real world? Even if that was practical, even feasible (which, with only a very little thought, anyone can see that it's not)... I flat guarantee that we'd have MORE complaints from fans about the league, not less! Forever bored of moaning about the league expanding then it doesn’t, then it does but then team leave. The whole thing is a mess. As long as team owners are in control of the league one way or another the league will never grow into anything more than it is. I know I should care more about the GB side of the game but I don’t, I just want to see the best possible product on the ice to make it worth the entry fee on a consistent basis. Those that want to leave they can, join the new NIHL Prem and the brits can play there, the teams that stay in the EIHL have no import limit just a wage cap and let them go.

It’d be very Panthery for the boys to go out and put on an absolute offensive masterclass and win handsomely.
Having said that Clan to win 7-3

Nobody said the #NewEra would be an improvement, we’ve all been fooled into believing better things were going to happen when really it’s the opposite.
Side note, only been to one game this season but from what I’ve seen on twitter when following the games (barring the odd stormer against the devils) I’m so happy I decided to paint my house and watch it dry. Absolutely gripping, thrill a minute kind of viewing. Can’t wait til I get to paint it again next season and relive the excitement.

Gospel on a two way? Who with? Saga? Having him on a 2 way means we keep him. Makes sense

I’ve just had a little looky at the upcoming schedule Jord. Guess where the Devils are next weekend.....yup a double header in Belfast. Wouldn’t want Bentivoglio missing BOTH those games now would we !!!!! 🤨😆 Ha, at least it makes a change from Steelers running the league. Whoever pays the most... Must be why the refuse to pay more than the top 3 spenders on their roster so they’ve got bribe money for DOPS

Watched the webcast, if we put the steelers logo from Whistles jersey in either of the top corners we’d have run up a cricket score considering how many times we hit it tonight on his chest. Just looked slow and boring. I feel for the season ticket holders and those who continue to back the team week in week out. The players couldn’t give two turds about the fans, there’s no urgency, no physicality, no passion, no fight and worst of all no pride in wearing the jersey!! 5 losses against them this season. This team have no idea what it means to the fans when we play the steelers.

Considering he was the one to get Chris Stewart over here that already speaks volumes for the contacts he had and the players he could potentially bring over. Always interesting to see what a new coach does in the off season. How the recruit, the team balance they have in mind etc. Give him a go. He knows the club, knows the league and knows the city

I remember a day I’d go to a game buy a programme and look through the opposition roster to find the number of their tough guy and just wait until he did something to cause a reaction and a tilt would follow. The game has changed and it is more about speed and skill and players they’re are fewer and fewer being brought through who can fight because it’s not needed at the elite level as much anymore. The other issue is that we have been well and truly spoilt when we signed Cam. His sheer presence on the ice got the fans going, you know he was looking to line someone up for a big hit, his willingness to get straight in the middle of any kind of altercation on the ice and not to mention his ability to throw ‘em. I’m not asking for fights every game I just want a more intense game and players playing for the fans and wanting to beat the opposition one way or another, play the body, mix it up, get under the skin and drive the net and let the other team know that from the minute the puck drops they’re in for a horrible night in the NIC.

The players don’t know what it means to the fans, if they did each fixture this season would have some bad blood going into the next game. We’d see chippy games, plenty of hits, fights and true disappointment when they lose. 4 losses is a joke against the Yorkie puds

Blaming DOPS for the path hockey (the game in its entirety) has taken? That's a stretch, not sure they have much pull with the NHL & IIHF. Fact is we know much more now about the long term effects of repeated brain injury, the sport was bound to protect itself. That form of the game is gone, and isn't coming back. If you don't like it, I guess you have to move on too. I meant more so how DOPS have affected the EIHL. I understand player safety but the punishments the put down it’s like they’re taking away the physical play as it’ll be a thought in the players mind going into the game. They’re grown men who can look after (or someone on their team is employed to) themselves. Anyway back on topic. Mention to Kim Ahlroos scoring an OT winner away in Sheffield in the challenge cup one year if I recall correctly, nearly had me tumbling down the stairs at the house of steel in delight.
