Shirts never look good hanging on a manakin or even on the players or fans over a jumper but once lined up in full kit the black and white will look very nice and the green will look alright. Could have gone for a nicer green if I’m being picky but hey as long as we win games who cares what we wear!

Farnham will bring a lot of energy to their line up, he’s a modern day Cam Janssen! I’d have loved him on our team! He’ll get their fans fired up and the rest of his team mates!!

in that instance against the storm just play smart disciplined hockey and hope the ref's do their jobs and penalise accordingly, they'll be chasing us all night anyway and if something happens where a fight is required Lepine will have to step up. We have to hope that the refs do their job.... We will also have to hope that they don't injure our lads. Surely they would play better with protection and not having to play looking over their shoulder Well until we play we won’t know. You’d like to think that during camp and team bonding Lepine (assuming he still plays the role) will have a word and tell them he’s got their back. I know when Tom Norton played alongside Brent Henley, Henley actually said to Tom do what you want I’ve got your back (or words to that affect)

God No! incredible talent but when he found the pubs became very ineffective! Don’t care how much he boozes if he can find the net 40 times a season! Being benched and/or shoved on a line with two ‘bang average’ (at best!) Brits and still scored 40 says a lot. The only import from last year I’d have had back. Agree with this, we’ve got speed this year and a lot of people have spoken of how Wallace holds his team accountable so if we’ve got a bunch of workers who have good skill level Guptil could thrive more so if we had him. Keep the players out he pubs / limit them to the odd drink on a Sunday if we’ve taken 3-4 points then we’d see a big difference in performance.

The centre here is going be key we need a top end goal scorer. Also little worried about our lack of physicality in the team who have we got that will answer the bell and defend our lads. Lepine did almost none of that last year looked disinterested and like he couldn't be asked. Tetlow will fight but unless he has piled on the muscles in the off season not really a deterant not sure if herr is a fighter. Teams like storm are going to have a field day in that instance against the storm just play smart disciplined hockey and hope the ref's do their jobs and penalise accordingly, they'll be chasing us all night anyway and if something happens where a fight is required Lepine will have to step up.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but a player that has links to former panthers players (college hockey with Perlini and McGrattan in San Diego) is Corey Tropp, he's predominantly played AHL and is exactly the type of player we need, puts up good points and also fights. www.eliteprospects.com/player/12187/corey-tropp

think there's too much being looked into on the age front personally, in any sedentary person yes the older you get past a certain age the slower you get. in trained athletes who are active day in day out through a season and pre season I don't see the issue. already mentioned but Ling didn't have age on his side yet he's one of the best forward I've seen in a panthers shirt, its how you manage your game. for D men with age comes experience and yeah they may lose some foot speed but for the most they can read the game better than a younger player. Weaver was mid 30's and Beckett was a few years younger and they were stand outs.

Dixon, Pope and Myers return to Cardiff Sheffield add D man from the DEL (where he’s played the last 7 seasons)

Shift of focus, let’s stack the top two line with quality imports and get in Brits who are blue collar players like Ollie. End of the day your paying for output and you can get much better output from a higher end import than you can from a British player.

Salters was the ideal, almost 1 PPG and was tough as nails. I agree you’d want you enforcer to be a forward because of filling the gaps whilst they sit their penalties. The age of the Penner esc players are behind us now but Jeez that guy was an animal and probably one of the toughest EIHL era players there’s been. I’d assume that Tim and Gui will have know full well they need a guy to police the ice and will have a few in mind, be interesting to see what kind of team we have this year.

Considering he’s an ex steeler it might add some sauce back into those games at least. Let’s see what Tim and Gui can put on the ice.

You’d like to think that if a new coach (new to the league) comes in then Doucet will get them up to speed on the demands of our league and he’ll also know what kind of players are needed.

Werner was stand out both seasons even after his injury! Think we should look at Brian Schmidt for a player who has a difficult first season then has a much much better second season. Defends who he’s paired with and what kind of game he asked to play. If he’s not captain as well that might help. Nobody knows

Ciaran Long leaving the storm? Classed as unknown on Elite Prospects. Or is he off to Australia for some summer fun Just read the article on the storm site, he’s moving to a new tram as the storm couldn’t match the offer he’s accepted from his new team. Could it be us?!

Say Doucet was being paid £50k for the season work that money is made in one to two match nights ticket sales (opponents depending) and I’m sure if Gui identifies certain players who want a little extra I’m sure mr Black will spend the money off the back of last seasons failure and the backlash from the fans. He knows things need to change and this is the first step to doing so. Let’s see if Gui can build this fast paced high energy goal scoring team.

- Doucet is there to oversee all hockey operations on the ice and hopefully has wheels in motion
- Stewart as player coach
- Rick is just to oversee the match whilst Stewart is playing and reports back during intermissions
- Dan green is just in charge of player housing and city familiarity

'Among those under contract and returning next season.' But then doesn’t state who “those” are. So frustrating, the club must thing it’s a fun game of suspense when really it’s just annoying and bothers me. Just state the returning brits all at once. Then announce the imports returning. Then announce the new coach.

Numb. Absolutely numb. I should be livid at how we’ve played this afternoon but I just don’t care, and if anybody from the club is reading this they should be concerned, because I’m not the only one. That pretty much sums it up. I wake up this morning and still feel the same. That raw emotion and fire that would have had me storming out of the arena in a rage just isn't there. 100%

Seems like Stewart is returning. Said in a interview that we are humble pie and he is going to work hard in the summer and come back better next year. If so he needs line mates at his level, not just play but thought process and positional play.
