Give it a break, he's left today yes, this team still more than capable of having a successful weekend and even season without him however
Anyways for all we know by Saturday we could have a new face in the lineup

Did he (and the club) not state he was only here for the CHL? Why go to the expense in time and money of organising a season long visa for a player who it was clearly stated wouldn't be here for the whole season? The Nottingham Panthers have remained one of the few financially stable teams during the EIHL-era for a reason, good financial nouse. To counter what will invariably be your retort, whilst in the grand scheme of things the cost difference between a short-term and long-term visa is probably negligible, there is still a difference and as they say, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves. I'm sure having money in the bank has often proved handy to Panthers when unexpected injuries occur, an issue that other teams may have had to dealt with by passing around the begging bowl or putting off until they can Phoenix the club So for a few extra pounds we could have a top player still here and play the whole weekend against 2 title rival at full strength? Instead we'll play short? Keep the money in the bank and 2 paintings to auction. Enjoy. Not sure mention the paintings is necessary at all, after all they are for a charities benefit!

Let this be a kick up the hairy bum and a warning that we are never entitled to win. And with Robinson leaving shortly, the rest of the players are going to have to work that much harder. Robinson's visa ends today and legally can't be in the country from tomorrow apparently (according to evening post)

I really do like the idea of this section but as other have said they are too far away to get the majority of the crowd going, I sit near the bottom of block 13 and I can hardly hear them, not sure what it's like opposite them. I can hear them pretty clearly across the other side, I think when you're side on to them the sound gets muffled by the fans inbetween (was the same for me when they were in block 4). Of course, sound travels in odd ways and slowly at the NIC, at least I assume it does given the inability of certain fans to keep time when joining in a simple chant. Someone should study it really. (Pet annoyance of mine). Pet annoyance of mine is when people chose just to clap and not chant but then speed up the clapping so the chant dies out as speed is too quick

I notice that the Notts TV website has a catch-up section. Unfortunately the last programmes uploaded are from August. I think I saw somewhere that it will be uploaded to their site on Friday. TBH I enjoyed it. I do sort of agree with what Nate24 says above though but it's better than nothing and something that plenty of other teams would give their right arms for. We shouldn't blindly praise it but we should be glad it's there. Yeah Chris Ellis confirmed on Twitter that it should be on NottsTV's website by Friday

Loving the podcasts, just wondering if there's any way to download the podcast to mobile device to listen to rather than streaming?

Both teams out of tournament, Panthers will still go full pelt at it I believe to show that wildcard wasn't wasted
All depends how Hamburg approach it personally I think the prospect of being embarrassed by losing to wildcard entry will result in them going for win
Still think we can get a point or even the win from this game

I believe crossing fingers is the preferred method for EIHL clubs Realistically, with regards to contingency options if there is long-term ice plant failure, what else could they do? Fair point, just a nightmare scenario for any team Hearing that it's going to be fixed now and they might be able to play against Belfast this weekend

That is easy to say but just how likely an occurrence is this and what are realistically the contingency options? If, for instance, the arena pad at the NIC were out of use for an extended period of time, the existence of a second pad in Nottingham would hardly be of help for games. Whilst I'm aware in the LPS days Panthers played a few games out of Peterborough I'd suggest that, given the number of season ticket holders Panthers have far outweighs the capacity of Peterborough, we'd be in a similar boat as Sheffield are currently with Ice Sheffield. I'm not saying i know the answer or that there is indeed an easy answer, but a Business Continuity Plan / Disaster Plan is a process to consider the potential What If's for those potentially serious issues. Alternatively, they can cross their fingers. I believe crossing fingers is the preferred method for EIHL clubs

Two London teams then to keep the conference system and create rivalry!
Obviously realise this isn't going to happen for next season, would be great though

If Clarke's rehab has gone to plan he should be back, even if case would imagine limited ice time anyways

A shame for Dundee and a shame for the EIHL but there must be valid reasons for it. Yeah must be if they aren't pursuing it

Do we actually have enough referees of a standard for the EIHL to do this? If we only play 2 EIHL games per night maybe. 1 thing I spotted in the CHL games: Darnell seemed to cope very well with the 2 Ref system. Hicks not so much. You would think in that situation, the Euro Ref would call more of the penalties but it felt like Hicks did. Why would you expect the Euro ref to call more penalties than Hicks? Depends on what Hicks and Euro ref see in front of them will be different each game
