Do we actually have enough referees of a standard for the EIHL to do this?

Do we actually have enough referees of a standard for the EIHL to do this? What standard is that then? Inconsistent? Wanting to be centre of attention? Bending to the will of the coach who shouts loudest? I think the EIHL can find a few of them knocking around.

Do we actually have enough referees of a standard for the EIHL to do this? Well last time they tried it, or thought about trying it, it became very clear that no, we don't have enough. Someone posted a link of what qualifications our refs and linesmen had over here a while ago, and I think we only have 1 who is actually a qualified referee - Hicks (this may have changed since of course).

I think it was a link showing the 'levels' British officials had attained, with only two (Hicks and Tottman) being at the highest level.

This shows that we lack a development policy for referees and getting them to the highest possible standards Though I suspect this could be a financial issue ? The referees should not pander or give in to the constant shouting of the coach who shouts the loudest either I know Hicks has been slated for his refereeing over the years too for not taking control of the game early enough What is the long term solution to the whole problem? P.S. I've never seen Tottman refereeing a game in the EIHL...

She has more sense than to get involved in the EIHL

Dreams and fantasies of more rinks, more youth policy, more ice time, bringing ex players back from their full time jobs, etc. Basically take your pick from the above.

Do we actually have enough referees of a standard for the EIHL to do this? If we only play 2 EIHL games per night maybe. 1 thing I spotted in the CHL games: Darnell seemed to cope very well with the 2 Ref system. Hicks not so much. You would think in that situation, the Euro Ref would call more of the penalties but it felt like Hicks did.

What's better than 3 incompetent officials? 4!
Spend the money improving the ones we have and train some more. Also roll it out for all games or not at all.

We have enough. The idea is to use an established EIHL ref, with a younger upcoming lad or lass from around about.
Worked well for the pre-season games.

Depends on what Hicks and Euro ref see in front of them will be different each game

I think Joy stayed in the EPL because she is based in the south - the amount of guildford, bracknell, basingstoke etc games town there fitted. You won't see a lot of her in GB at all this year, by the sounds of it www.iihf.com/home-of-hockey/news/news-singleview/?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=9049&cHash=43f917f41669ee77efd9c36b2e1578b6Really good ref. A loss to the British game.
