Big game even at this stage of the season.
Hopefully have Wild, Landry and Higgins all fit for this one.

Chances are very slim that any of those will play especially Wild

Despite all the negativity on here, the Panthers have been going about their business in a quietly efficient way. This will be my 1st visit to Nottingham this season (therefore my first Screech Owl at the Vat and Fiddle ), but I'll be heading down thinking that Nottingham are slight favourites to win the game. I can see this game being tight with it possibly going to overtime, which means I'll miss the end of the game because the last train back to Sheffield departs at 9:40. Let's hope it's a good one with little mention of the officials. Regards Doom

If it does go to OT, is there noone that can give you a lift back? As long as we've seen the majority of the game we'll be happy enough. It will be fun refreshing the EIHL website to find out how it finished. At least with the last train we have to change at Derby, which gives us 20 minutes for a pint in either the Brunswick or the Alexandra. Regards Doom

Last update on Wild (leg) was "Sunday morning tests appear to suggest it is not as bad as feared but he is in a lot of pain still", which could mean anything. Landry was just ill so I see no reason he shouldn't be fine in a week (unless it's something serious that's just presenting of course). Higgins (dead leg) and Parent (hand, I think?), who knows with those two.

I thought I'd read it was a hand injury (as mentioned earlier), although looking back through likely news articles on the website there's no mention, so I might've made that up

Corey said on his interview that he hopefully will have a couple of bodies back. Landry I'd expect to see and out of the other id say Higgins. Wild sounds like he'll miss a few games which is disappointing because he's been a cracking D-Man thus far. Didn't Parents injury get called a hand injury on The Locker Room? I'd say Kowalski might be back in about a months time. I don't think panthers would go signing a netminder like Modig just for a weekend or 2.

With tickets all but gone for sat. I imagine the update about wild and Higgins skating tomorrow and Landry recovering from a bug is the club updating us and not trying to sell more tickets.

Steelers are likely to be without Morency, showed signs of Concussion after being checked from behind in their game against Edinburgh. Landry should be back for us, Higgins and Wild i'd say are 60/40 on returning then Parent and Kwall not icing. Should be a good game, Panthers won 7 in a row, Steelers not lost 2 in a row.. We'll both want to keep our records going so should be a tense game to watch. Modig looked quite solid last weekend despite causing some questionable rebounds so i'd say he'll be the game decider.

I'm thinking of trying one or two new establishments pre game, so any feedback on these would be appreciated: Roundhouse Crafty Crow Cross Keys Annies Burger Shack (not sure about this one) We like our beers strong and hoppy. Hockey....What hockey. Regards Doom

Cross keys is one we use quite regular. Very nice Navigation in there. The crafty cow opposite the castle is decent too. Good choices

I couldnt recomend Annies enough however foodwise they tend to be fully booked Saturday evenings. However they do have a bar downstairs with a great selection of beers.

Thanks folks.
We'll probably be in Nottingham for about 2pm, so not too worried about them being a distance from the arena.....A good walk will do us good.
Looking forward to a good day out, I just hope it doesn't turn into the disaster we had a few years ago when we got on the wrong train. By the time we realised what had happened, the train we required from Nottingham had left and we jumped in a taxi from Nottingham to Derby. The taxi driver didn't know where the station was so dumped us in the centre of Derby, where we had to get another taxi. We just made the train in Derby, but it was full of drunk England supporters who had been to the England v Spain game......and the Steelers lost....Grrrr.
Regards

I don't get all this real ale stuff. A mate of mine drinks it and often tells me of great nights out where he's had several Bishops Fingers inside him and sometimes even a Fox's knob It's not for me
