Shame, would've liked to have seen him back in the league. Judging by his previous though he had visa issues when he joined us, and when he joined Braehead.

I do remember that he had problems getting a visa for either his first or second stint in braehead and someone mentioned something to do with a pending prosecution he had back home. (drunk driving rings a bell) Seems strange tho as he has had it granted for 4 seasons over here befor

A shame for Dundee and a shame for the EIHL but there must be valid reasons for it.

Doesn't necessarily have to be something criminal or anything like that. It may be, I don't know, but there could be a more "technical" reason.
I believe one of the criteria is where the player played in the previous season and for how many games, i.e. are they from a level that means they are a genuine "import quality" player who is not depriving a British player of a job (this is one of the basic principles of the work permit system across all industries). Maybe the league he was in and the time he spent there last year (Dutch league maybe?) excludes him? After all, it has been some time since he played at a level higher than the EIHL, and his progression from North American minors to Britain to Netherlands or wherever could be viewed as a downward slope. Not saying this is the reason - I think Stars would have a good case for appeal based on his previous EIHL playing record if this were the case but they say there will be no appeal - I just wanted to put forward an alternative to the assumptions that it's a misdemeanour of some kind that is behind the decision.

Spends too long drinking in calgary and gambling than to focus on hockey, when i saw him a month or so back i was surprised to read a couple of days after that he had signed in dundee, very very out of shape and in no way fit to play hockey. A shame! great player when he's on his game.

This might be a blessing in disguise for Dundee based upon what I've read in the postings above I know when he played for Panthers there were some alleged issues then Dundee may be lucky and find a better player...just have to wait

A shame! great player when he's on his game. When was he in shape. You missed his 2nd season with us then? His 3rd wasn't too shabby. He then went to Braehead and had a 100 point season, sweeping the board in the elite league awards that season
