It’s sad to see but it’s clear that Pidge is crushed by the gradual realisation that Corey wasn’t the main problem at the club.
Looks a decent pick up for Steelers in an area they needed to strengthen.

Roster always looked short on goals. Ethos at the club is the biggest problem as the same thing happens every season. Great starts and then drop off.

Horrific, Not many banging on about goals from everywhere, goals all through the team tonight..... Won’t even get close scoring 3 goals a game. Plenty of grit, not enough goals, massive profits but playing short over and over again.

Showed a lot of Character to pull it back in the 3rd especially while playing shorthanded. Great win.
Hughes was immense!

Terrible news out of Cardiff this morning. A young lady called Scarlett who was been battling for a long time has sadly passed away. Panthers have said they will hold a moments silence / applause at tomorrow’s game.

Thanks mate. We made a pre season game when we got some free tickets. I made the Sheffield home and Manchester game but can't get this weekend. The boy has lost interest a little bit. He got into Forest after Christmas but hopefully get him along to a few games this season. I've lost the passion to be honest and it did feel a bit weird watching. I barely stood up when we scored the late winner against the Storm but can't seem to shake it all together. Hopefully i'll gradually get it back. I've got a spare ticket to the Devils game on Wednesday if you want another freebie? Thanks for the offer mate. Very kind of you. It’s the Wife’s birthday on Wednesday though so won’t be able to make it.

Good win and some nice goals. Good to see you back on the forum Rob, haven't heard much from you. How's it gone with watching games this season? I hope you have been able to bring your lad with no hassle Thanks mate. We made a pre season game when we got some free tickets. Only seen one game, Sunday's 2-1 win. Thought Lepine (and all the D) did pretty well against some extremely quick, skillful and relentless forwards.
Regarding the captain, I'd be thinking possibly Henderson. Plays the game in the right way, very experienced and could lead from the front with some hits when needed. He didn't hit a lot but the people he hit stayed hit.

I think the trust has helped to induce some positive changes at the club. It's a shame but not a surprise the way the club reacted but there are obviously lots and lots of good reasons for that. I hope it's not the end for the Trust but if it is those involved can hold their heads up and at least say that they tried.

Devils Panthers Steelers Giants Clan Flames Stars Storm Lightning Blaze Fife I honestly think Fife are looking pretty strong! Seem to have goals and size in the forwards and good net minding. Could do with a couple of Brits but can't see them finishing outside the Play Offs.

Well there you go, shows you what these ITK's know doesn't it. Well done Panthers. I thought you were the ITK. What did the others say? Ps. Glad they are all in to get ready for the proper puck drop. Still hoping for a spare.

Lets throw it all out there Hockey isn’t won on paper We have no idea on respective budgets What I do know is Coach has been around European hockey a long time and seems to have got a team that he wants to play his style not a team that looks good in paper. So let’s see how things go before we take a good pop at the panthers. Maybe he has some budget left and has signed the guys he wants rather than what costs the most money We have the biggest income and the biggest profit. We should have the best looking roster and we should have a much better EIHL record than we have. If you don’t agree then fair enough. Were all allowed an opinion (except for Iginla) aren’t we?

A lot of Green eyes on this thread... We should have a better roster on paper than Cardiff. We don’t, that’s not their fault or the Cardiff fans fault. Given your previous post on this thread! Really? Oh you mean a joke remark about their back up goalie being a CEO when he retires? And that means I’m envious LOL Fair enough. You’re not remotely jealous of Cardiff’s 2 league titles in the last 2 years whilst watching us with 5500 fellow contributors?

Give Kelman a job? As owner of the Devils, I don't think that's an option... :-) The purely "business" decision is "How many more bums on seats will a league title get us?". Going from 2012-13 to now, the answer is 650 a game. At an average of £16 each that's marginal revenue of £300k or so. Who knows what costs have gone up by? Given that there's been no title since 12-13, the last 2 seasons have been pretty poor league wise, the overall mood on here can best be described as "poor", and attendances are now 13% higher anyway, I guess the club have done it a different (and cheaper, and less risk) way than "spending at all costs to win" and hoping more people turn up as a result. Me? I'd rather have a stable club than a risk-taker at the helm. Throwing money blindly at a sports club doesn't show a "relentless aim to succeed". Let's face it, it's not worked well for Notts County over the last 10 years... This time last year, plenty on here were very happy with the team signed. We can agree to disagree by all means. Nobody wants spending at all costs, but in Pantherland we should expect at least very good quality on the ice. But say 40 home games x average crowd 5800 x £13 average ticket = £3million income in tickets alone, before you even start with sponsorship and merchandise etc etc. Even if all the players were on £1000 a week, which they ain’t,that’s only £600k ish yearly player wages. So where the heck does the other £2.5million plus go ? Uncomfortable truths Ig...

Interesting thread for sure. With the profits we make we really shouldn't be taking massive gambles like this during recruitment and certainly shouldn't have kept him for a full season.

To say the Panthers are more about profit than winning is a bit misguided imo. Three extra bodies; two of which with AHL experience. Started last season with 2 genuine starting netminders like Superleague days, plus a 3rd choice of Gospel. I expect with the new coach, the team will perform far more to their ability this season. A team does not go from the start they had, to the form they showed during the latter part of the season. It will be intersting to see. Interesting for you to say that. Which teams income is higher? Which teams roster looks better / more expensive? Which team is starting the season with a spare?

That maybe so but maybe the reason he posts are so annoying for people is because they are uncomfortable truths. If the fans knew the extent of the finances I believe many would be shocked and horrified. All of them could find this out but choose not to look because they don't want to know. The same reason Iginla's posts are difficult for people to read. Constantly moaning about CN isn't an uncomfortable truth thought Rob. We know Iginla isn't a fan of his, but every opportunity that comes up, he has a dig. He gets an honorary degree (something that should be celebrated) and he moans. Its just a bit embarrassing after while. As i'm sure you were aware I was talking about him as a poster generally rather than specifically to this thread or indeed CN.
