Players and Coaches come and go. The ethos at the club is all wrong and until that changes non of this really matters.

I haven’t been to a games for months but will be at the weekend. Anyone able to tell me what the lines have been recently? Cheers Rob I’ve missed a few games recently too mate but from what I can remember from the quarter final, the forward lines were:- Stewart/Perlini/Farmer Rheault/Hurtubise/Richard Bolduc/Pither/Henderson Betteridge/Lachowicz/Guptill First line is quality, still not sold on Guptill being on the 7/74 line though. Cheers Ted, What about the D pairings?

Oh whoop-de-doo! Another game! Can’t wait! Prediction? I won’t want to leave Saltbox. I will stand and not applaud as the ‘players’ come onto the ice. I won’t enjoy the game. I will sit and yearn for the days of Kowalski, Beckett, DAB, Fox and Ling. I won’t get annoyed at bad calls as I’m past caring. I will stay until the end as I get a sick kind of pleasure from looking around a half empty arena at the gone way beyond happy clapper brigade. I won’t be surprised to see the Clan netty get MOM as it kind of makes us look better. Could win. Will probably lose. Club will hail the night a success no matter what as they count the takings. Meh. Haha! Nice post Ted but sad to read as well. No season ticket next year then?

This is superb, take a bow It’s a superb analogy if you accept that the Nottingham Panthers is purely a money making machine. For me a sports club isn’t exactly the same as a cake making business and shouldn’t be treated as such. If you stop making decent cakes people can buy a decent cake from loads of places. You can’t just change your sports team or stop caring.

A lot of the reaction to this interview speaks volumes... The fanbase is largely clueless. Black saying we're all in this together holds about as much weight as Cameron's big society speech.
You are being farmed.

Sorry but way too late for must win games... that happened a couple of weeks back and they were all losses... Yes the refs have shafted panthers for as long as I can remember.. (one final against Sheffield particularly springs to mind) and yes the results show that there have been favourites such as durham then Sheffield and to some extent Belfast now (although if your Scottish and a ref it would seem you wake up with blinkers on when you are in charge of a Scottish game) but the season that panthers did win not a single point was dropped in Scotland.... you have to win in-spite of the refs and this team is incapable of doing that this season and every season since the grand slam year. In my mind, I truly believe most of that team didn't re-sign was because rightly they wanted a payrise which our management didn't want to give (heard too many of rumours about this for it not to hold some water) and that dynasty that the club was going to create sank the way of every season since... It really annoyed me that the club found a winning formula then threw it away in search of a quick buck and have ever since... which in all honesty is one of the reason I have seen very little games post xmas for the past 3 seasons and likely the same again this year... very disappointing from a club I have followed over many decades but I guess that's what happens when a businessman is in it to make money rather than sporting success, mentioned a lot in the past, there is nothing wrong with making money from business but this is sports business with the primary reason d'etre being to win trophies with the club. Imho this is not the primary goal at Nottingham so with the main driving force being to make money I for one am going to withhold my small contribution until I see a more balanced approach at the club with less emphasis on getting bums on seats and more on getting ticks in the wins column and when that happens then maybe I will resume my attendance, now I know one fan may not make a difference, but a lot of people I know now feel this way. Yes the club get a lot of walk-ups but that is not sustainable, they need a flourishing fanbase and with results and teams they have given us lately that is not likely, to quote success breeds success, if the club win then word of mouth does get round, with vice versa also being true, no one wants to watch a loosing team and numbers will tell. Might not be this season but this will catch up with them, what them? NB sells and moves on to other things, I suspect not but he will need to address what is wrong with the club and its attitude to winning and its fanbase.... maybe then I will feel like supporting them again AND maybe I will have found something else to spend my money on (as well as all the other fans who have left) All I can say is I hope the management don't leave the wind of change too late because this season it wasn't so much a wind as more a light breeze.... Cracking post that Tex.

Flames are above Steelers in the league, beat Steelers over 2 legs in the QF and absolutely spanked us in our own back yard on Sunday so fair to say that they will be harder for us to beat.
£25k? Even you can work a calculator Pidge. I think.....

Bugger, less chance of winning and circa £25k down the pan.

Oooo look what's popped up again. People do realise that those of us on The Cage represent about 0.01% of Panthers fans right? Most don't come on here anymore because it's mainly full of poo poo. You know what the thread is about Biglad... Don’t like it? You don’t have to click on it...

But how do you know how much money we get? As someone has pointed out several times this very week that freebie tickets are being dished out regularly and that the Steelers have a higher attendance etc. Etc. In fact didn't you yourself say that you attended on a freebie? Yeah I did, Just have a look at the accounts and do some very basic sums. It's all there for people to see but people don't want to know / admit it.

Thanks, exactly my point. We have more money so we should do a lot better than we do.

But no matter who the players are, teams will lose games, play badly, look disjointed, from time to time. The best players have bad games more often than you might think. Don't get me wrong, there's 2 poor results right there this weekend, but this idea that "Panthers should just be the best, with the "resources" we have" is a strange one to these ears. What a strange thing to say... Why have Man City got better players than Huddersfield and why do they win more games?

Nowt. Eventually spiral down from passionate interest and support into realisation and apathy until the point iv'e now reached (which I never thought I would) where I only go if I get a free ticket and barely manage to clap when we score.
Such a shame and I know i'm not alone. Sport really shouldn't be like this....

Hoping to see a much better effort level from the players today (Betteridge and Rissling excluded) and also hoping to see a plan. I still can’t work out what the plan was on Friday. Dundee’s game plan was very easy to see and all of their players bought into the way of playing. Apart from hope that Guptill does something we didn’t seem to have any idea about what we were trying to do.

yes the crowd helps but the players have to provide the foundation for the fans to build off of and tonight there was no foundation. When was the last time there was a real buzz and a great atmosphere in that arena ? An arena full of dumb ass fans, people some of whom it seems will put up with any old dross and yet still clap like performing sea lions at the end even when we lose after a dire performance. Makes you wonder what aspirations they have in the rest of their lives if they’re happy to constantly accept second, third, fourth or sometimes even fifth best from their sports team. Probabably not a lot I’d guess ! That post will ruffle a few feathers.... Not necessarily wrong though. Many are out for entertainment only or are pond life.

Will be in the world famous National Ice Centre again this Sunday. Yes it’s another Freebie....
As I’ll have had a Sunday Roast before the game I’m hoping it’s much more entertaining than this evenings offering.

Have to say I thought it was extremely poor all round.
The Coach - What was the plan? Forward lines didn’t make any sense and apart from get it deep what is the actual plan?
The Players - How many of them could look themselves in the eye and they left it all on the ice? Betteridge, Rissling? Not many?
The Fans - More atmosphere on the surface of the moon. At the end of the day supporters get the club they deserve...

A bit of advice for the club, the next time you do a teddy toss if the team doesn’t score in the first period get everybody to throw them once the first period has ended. Moran you’re an absolute fool, you’ve embarrassed the fans, you let the Belfast players ridicule us and you’ve basically admitted defeat with 10 minutes to go. What an absolutely idiotic decision! We’ve got passengers in this team who, when the going gets tough, go into their shell and don’t want to know. Perlini and Lacho are the main culprits for this and at the end of the season I’d look to move both of them on, if they were imports neither of them would be here. What is the point in having Doty if nobody is willing to fight him and he hasn’t got the ability to make people fight him? He’s getting frustrated because they won’t and he’s then giving stupid penalties away. If you add in the fact that technically he doesn’t offer much then is there any point having him? Lepine is in a similar position I feel, his main asset in his previous time with us was his physicality, he was a presence, now he doesn’t even get into any skirmishes. He’s in the same boat as Doty, if he’s not going to apply his physicality then we need to upgrade. And he’s certainly not leading this team. Finally, the powerplay, does Rich know that we’re supposed to try and score on it? I appreciate that you’ve got to work space and move the opposition to get the best opportunities but we are just overplaying it and choosing to pass when we should be shooting. Hurtubise scored 3 near identical goals on the PP at the start of the season, he was receiving the puck from the point on the left side and 1 timing it, now he looks as though he’s afraid to shoot, he’ll pass when he has the chance. The old saying, if you put the puck on net good things happen, could not be truer. I’m getting sick to death of coming on here and venting my frustration about this team and club. When will it end? When will it end? Unfortunately only when you see the club for what it is. It’s a strange feeling but has happened to many people over the last 5 years. The passion and interest slowly fades away until the point when you just don’t care anymore.

What’s the main problem then? Rob still has a axe to grind with the management due to his season long absence last year.. I'm sure some Panthers fans want boom or bust 😂 Don’t be silly Pidge. Nobody wants bust. As the biggest and best supported club in the country we should at least challenge for the league every now and then.

It’s sad to see but it’s clear that Pidge is crushed by the gradual realisation that Corey wasn’t the main problem at the club. Looks a decent pick up for Steelers in an area they needed to strengthen. What’s the main problem then? Priorities, profits before prizes.
