huge weekend for the club, hopefully we can pull it off, if had to choose 1 win for the weekend would take a loss tonight and beat clan on sudnay. who do we think will start in nets? My guess is Modig against Giants (KWall staying at home with his expectant wife), then Kwall to start against Clan on Sunday

For this season we have got what we have got, and if Clan win the league with this skewed system fair play to them, they have done it within the rules agreed by the league prior to season start.
However it is plain to see (for MOST supporters anyway) that there is an obvious unfairness in the system that needs sorting out for next season and personally I would go for the suggestion below ...
Other than the doubling up of cross-conference points, and assuming you want to keep the same schedule / fixture list you could a) make a 36 game league, where every team plays each other 2xHome and 2xAway and b) have a separate conference system based on playing each team in your conference only 2xHome and 2xAway, making it a 16game conference cup. Maybe it could then be the conference set up that then feeds into the play-offs.
This, gives balance and fairness to the league competition, maintains the reduced travel costs throughout, continues to allow the scottish rivalries to build.
Season tickets could still remain as-is and cover the 52 league and conference games.
Only flaw as far as I can see, is that it doesn't improve Hulls situation, and takes no account of a London team (or otherwise) - so may need further consideration/adjustment?

Wonder why block 15 is not for sale? Looks like we are squeezed in the corner. It's an overflow block, the same as 8, 9, and 10 are. But 8, 9 and 10 could be used for Sheffield too. You watch em fill up if teams qualify. Some people wait to get their tickets till they know if their team is playing It doesnt say when those blocks will go on general sale - will that be straight away, or after the week-long privilege that Panthers/Steelers ST holders get over Non-ST holders?

have we ever had a steeler come over here and be amazing? last one i can think of was zion and he was a total loser He looked a quality player until he got that (groin?) injury. When he came back from that, the difference was unbelievable. Not in a good way either. Stank the place out and was gassed. Never seen a decline like it. Remember it well... Unfortunately.

My understanding, is that if there had been any suspension to follow, we would have heard before the Cardiff game.

Seth does say Nottingham/Fife will play the 'first leg at home' ... which is not the generally accepted interpretation of being the 'home' team. Chris Ellis is hoping to clear up the confusion today.

The only bit I would have a fundamental disagreement with is .... Additionally, it's not entirely balanced to just double the points from cross-conference games. We play 32 own-conference games, and 20 cross-conference. If the points were doubled, we'd be able to earn 64 points from local games, and 80 from cross-conf. That would then switch the bias AGAINST Braehead. Statistically, because of the ratio of 64:40 that currently exists, we'd have to be given 3.2 points for a win in the cross conference! Clearly, that is completely unworkable. The bottom line of the doubling up of cross-conference points means that whichever team you are, then the points available to win against all of the other league teams, regardless of their conference, will be 16pts.

If the fixture structure were to remain - ie, 2xhome+away cross-conference, x 4xhome+away inter-conference - this could be balanced out by making it 4pts for a win on the cross-conference - this would mean Both Clan and Panthers would be playing for 16pts over their total matches against Dundee, for example.

Having not found a club in the last 3months, maybe he has a higher valuation of himself than the clubs around Europe have. Earning a lower wage and playing is surely better than doing nothing (unless he is earning a living from his paintings)?

How did Hull use him, ... was he left high ready for a stretch-pass?, ... is he fast on the break-outs from his own zone? ... is he a goal-mouth poacher? ....?
Who were his regular line-mates, and could we replicate that?
Just thinking our dump and chase tactics may not be conducive to him getting similar stats? Also, anybody got his stats seperated out from cross-conference and inter-conference? How did he fair against the erhardt teams?

www.eliteleague.co.uk/rawlyk-departs-coventry-p195593RAWLYK DEPARTS COVENTRY COVENTRY BLAZE NEWS Genting Casino Coventry Blaze can confirm that they have granted defenceman, Rory Rawlyk’s request to be released from his contract to take up a career opportunity outside of hockey in North America. “We’ve never been a club to try to stand in the way of player who has this type of opportunity,” said Blaze Director of Hockey, James Pease. “Rory came to see us a couple of days ago and explained the opportunity he has and that he needs to consider his long term future. “With the extensive injury list we've had, he wanted to wait until the majority of players were healthy again and now that most of the team are returning to the line up and given that we are carrying one too many imports, the time is probably right for him to make this move. “We’d like to thank Rory for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his new venture.” “I’d like to thank the club’s management for supporting me in this move,” said Rawlyk. “I won’t deny it’s been tough at times this season with all the injuries we have had, but I have enjoyed my time here and I'm sure that as the team gets players back to fitness, Blaze have a great chance of pushing for the play offs. “It’s going to be tough for me not playing hockey – something that has been my whole life – but I have to give this opportunity a shot. It’s something that is gathering momentum and I can’t afford to miss the chance to get involved now. I might not get another chance like this and I have to look at my future and life after hockey. If it doesn't work out over the next few months, I would probably look to play again in the future, but for the time being I’ll be giving it all my focus. “I’d like to thank the Blaze fans for their support and wish everyone the best for the remainder of the season.” “The next three months is now all about the push to make the play offs,” concluded Pease. “Every game is going to be massive. Every point is going to be vital. Every shift will count. Everyone – players and fans – need to be up for the challenge. We have a group of guys who have terrific team spirit right now and they are committed to doing whatever it takes to make it. If everyone does their bit on and off the ice, it could be a very exciting next few months.”

Dowd clearly punches Berube while he is on the ice, yet another one he's got away with! Nothing of any significance though imo.

According to Steeltalk they made a poor team look good. Magnanimous in defeat as ever. We are a poor team though are we not? Don't you read the Cage? At times we have been worse than poor, others have been better than good ... generally though the games i have seen this season have largely been dull

... Not all had that view Jono to be fair. The majority have though. As is typical when Steelers lose it's not because they were beaten by a better side but because they were bad. Which is not dis-similar to our views when we lose on many an occasion too. Agreed that does seem the majority view over on steeltalk, which if you had said that initially I wouldnt have challenged your statement - anyway we are both on the same page now it seems.
