Looks a very good signing!
Bagged 81 points including 50 goals in the EIHL last season so clearly knows where the net is.
Fingers crossed he makes it in time to play this weekend.

Good stuff, remember him banging them in for Hull.

Excellent signing but what a pity it's taken so long.

Sounds like Higgins might be out for a while then. Which is a shame. I thought he'd improved dramatically in the last few games.

Great signing. Add some muscle in there now.
Higgins will be a huge miss though.

Now that's a excellent signing. Shame its taken 5 months to acquire a natural goalscorer though. But now they have excellent work

Hopefully a forward that can score the goals rather than DMen having to do it!

Don't forget he's got to learn Corey's 'systems' yet, which Corey reckons takes about 6 weeks to learn. Hopefully he's a fast learner. Nice to see we have brought someone in, still have a hunch we will see Robbo again, he is now eligable to apply for his short term visa again as he has been left 3 months, unless he is pricing himself out the market.

Great signing. Exactly the type of proven player we should always be signing.
Positive post :-)

There isn't a great deal of "former Hull Stingrays" players that would get me excited but Doucet was on fire when he was there. Really hope he can do well. Hopefully take the pressure off Graham and Lawrence a bit and they can relax a bit more in games.

Good start now if they could get Robinson as well we could push on and give the league a really good go.. maybe...

How did Hull use him, ... was he left high ready for a stretch-pass?, ... is he fast on the break-outs from his own zone? ... is he a goal-mouth poacher? ....?
Who were his regular line-mates, and could we replicate that?
Just thinking our dump and chase tactics may not be conducive to him getting similar stats? Also, anybody got his stats seperated out from cross-conference and inter-conference? How did he fair against the erhardt teams?

Well the playoff finals are on 4th and 5th April, so thats within the three months. Whilst I would be delighted if it were to happen, I am not sure it will.

Very happy with this signing, proved himself last year with Hull, hopefully he can replicate his form with us and more skilled linemates.
As for Robo, he spoke to NP's Matt Davies earlier this week about what he's doing regarding playing hockey etc.. the article is yet to be released but should be out soon. I can't see us getting him back personally, he's the same type of player Higgins is yet we've brought in Doucet to fill his spot. Robo also commented on the Grimaldi incident saying the league might actually be recognised as a good league one day, when these hotheaded players are out of the league. Something along them lines.

His game-by-game stats for last season: www.eliteleague.co.uk/stats/gamebygame.php?seasonId=12&id=848A cursory glance would suggest better against their conference opponents, although he notched plenty against us! I seem to remember them being very much a top-line team, didn't they have him and Tendler on the same line, one either side?

Our guys are good enough vs erdhart teams but poor against the weaker conference haha

We were probably more a two line team last year as we also had Davies, Silverthorn and Lauzon making major contributions on the points front. You are quite correct though him and Tendler were the major contributors for us last season. In Doucet you have a fast, very skilled and mobile forward who knows how to find the net. Put him on a line with a good set up guy and a big body and I would expect him to rack up the points for you guys. His hattrick here (ironically against panthers) is a good example of the type of goals he scored regularly for us. (doucet is #12).

They were worse than Matt Francis playing in the same league,I think Francis has 7+7 from about 25 games.
