Didn't we have that with Champagne a few years ago ... he said he wasn't fit to play, we released him, then following week he was playing for his new club?

... you have a 36 game league, where everybody plays every body 2xhome and 2x away (9x4=36) then you have two 16 game conference systems whereby you play the 4 teams in your conference only 2xhome + 2xaway (4x4=16)
This gives you the same fixture list as this season with all the rivalry and saved travel cost benefits, but gives you a balanced and fair league set-up and, imo, a more worthy conference set-up and title. Potentially the conference system could then feed the play-offs.

They're going to come here and really go for it make no mistake about that. I would really love to get to the final but at this moment in time I cant see it. Wonder how many of our team will actually be fit enough, they only have the goalie missing. and Kohn? ?

You would have thought that Panthers could make the financial commitment to have a youngster or two on the books full time, but then loan them out to an epl team for regular hockey if not required?

I think Panthers give out better injury updates than most to be fair.

I think we've all seen roughing given for much less than Keefes involvement in this - i think Biglad has called it about right personally

... but as I've said before, you do not have to compromise the league in order to achieve the financial stability. You simply have all times playing each other twice home and away contending for a 36-game league title; and separately you have a conference title contested with the 4 teams in your own conference, again twice home and away for a total of 16 games. You are still playing exactly the same 52 games over the season; you have conference titles established in their own right; you have a balanced league fixture list; you meet the same cost-saving / rivalry building objectives as already set; you can use the conference system as the preliminary round feeding into the play-offs.

The 3rd went under the net. There's a photo on twitter/Facebook that shows the gap at the side of the net and Modig was right to be livid that Darnell didn't even check if it was true.

This, to me, isn't about whether it is good/bad for Panthers - it's about having a fair system going forward.

... Clan play Dundee 8 times, which is worth 16 points. Our conference play Dundee 4 times.you therefore have to double up all points from those 4 games to achieve parity spik.

... my personal thoughts during the evening was that the Clan were deliberately killing our momentum by engaging the ref in conversation at, what seemed like, every stoppage in play.
Regarding penalties, they took 7 to our 3 in the first (1 coincidental) 2 to our 3 in the second, then 1 each in the 3rd. A total of 9 to 6 PP's
The calls were not as one-sided as Finnerty might suggest.

Its been a couple of very busy days for head coach Gerad Adams and the Steelers staff resulting in two new signings for the club, with both making their debuts against Coventry Blaze later today.
Steelers received confirmation on Wednesday that goalie Frank Doyle would be missing for a minimum of three weeks following scans on a hand injury that had been troubling him for a while.
This news resulted in Adams moving for Josh Unice (stats HERE) a 25 year old goalie from Holland, Ohio (USA).
Unice was a 3rd round draft pick for the Chicago Blackhawk’s in 2007 after he represented Team USA at U17, U18 and U20 level at three World Championships.
The Steelers new goalie flew into the UK on Friday morning and trained with his new team mates later that day.
On Friday the Steelers were made aware of the possibility of signing the highly rated Slovakian forward Tomas Petruska from Graz 99ers (Austria).
Petruska was an All Star last season in Denmark after scoring 20 goals and 46 assists for Herning Blue Foxs. Petruska also represented Slovakia at the U18 and U20 levels.
Negotiations were completed quickly and a transfer agreed with Graz. Petruska will catch an early flight out of Austria on Saturday morning and arrive in Sheffield early in the afternoon, in time to play against the Blaze at the arena on Saturday evening (face off 7.00pm)
International clearance has been agreed for both players.
"What a few days it has been" said Adams "On Wednesday we received a hammer blow about Frank. He had scans in the afternoon and we received the results a few hours later.
"We had feared the worst and started a search for a new goalie hoping it wouldn't be needed but it was. We are very lucky to have signed Josh so quickly. He is an impressive young man looking to come to Sheffield and make a name for himself.
"Josh arrived in time to get some ice and meet the guys on Friday and he will start against Coventry"
Adams then confirmed the agreement for Petruska "this is probably the quickest signing I have ever been a part of" he said "we got the word that Tomas was available if we were prepared to move quickly. I think for being made available to us agreeing a deal with less than 90 minutes
"I can't thank Tony and the staff enough for making these two deals happen. They have shown that they believe in this team and what we are trying to achieve here. They like me want the best and don’t want us to play short in the run in.
"It's been a long and difficult week with injuries playing a big part. Now though with Cullen Eddy back in the line up and Josh and Tomas arriving I'm confident we can have a great weekend"
