So it’s profit before points then as many have suspected for a while now. As the owner he’s the custodian of the club. He therefore has a duty towards the fans who are effectively and morally (but not legally) shareholders. He’s letting every single of one of them down. As I said the whole club needs a shake up and if he continues to stand still it will eventually go backwards. It went backwards about 2/3 years ago

Stick Gospel in goal, play tetlow/Kelsall/Hazeldine if they are avaliable, we are playing Cardiff in the cup as no one is going to pick us or them

Fantastic win and yet another gritty performance. This team shows no quit, it's really great to see. Like day and night compared to last season! Depending how much longer Derlago is out for I'd like to see us look at bringing in some cover as the lads can't have much left in the tank at the mo!! I've been thinking the same regarding derlagos situation, maybe look at bringing Schultz back in as cover if he's not retired. he'd be great if we were to carry a spare skater. Please tell me this is a joke?

Wasn’t a great performance, but we are still well in the mix at the minute, 4 conference points last weekend. Can’t win them all, as for Garnett he was hung out to dry!

Sheffield requesting a review on Mosey is ridiculous, we should be challenging the one on Spang, by Nelson?, as they were identical, absolutely pathetic from them Let’s hope it costs them money 👍🏻

Add Jeff Mason though. They'll be 1 import down overall. 6 D, 11 F. Whistle is a good goalie, it'll be his first start of the season so hopefully he has a cold one. But as others have said, we'll likely make him look amazing. Whistle has had more ice time this season than Murphy, so not sure where that comes from? He started in the home game against Sheffield on Saturday

You said on the Monday PodCast that it was only used for the puck crossing the line, but here is the offical reading off the EIHL website.
The referee may use GLT to determine whether…
The puck has crossed the plane of the goal line
The puck crossed the plane of the goal line prior to the goal frame being displaced
The puck was directed or batted into the goal net by a hand or foot or deliberately directed or batted with any part of the attacking player’s body into the goal net.
The puck was deflected into the goal net off an on-ice official.
These are the only circumstances a referee may use GLT in the Elite Ice Hockey League.
Looking at this Perin should have used GLT, but he has yet again showning his incompetence.

Will be interesting to see how we bounce back, after what was quite a poor weekend, where we suffered a CHL hangover. I am hoping that they sort the defence out, we need Mosey back up front as he looked out of sorts at the back and we don't want him losing confidence. Flames have shown they are no pushovers, seems like they were very unlucky in Belfast, conceding a goal apparently after the buzzer, but still being credited to the Giants, then losing on an empty net finish, only to return home and absolutely thrash Cardiff. Hope Corey and guys are up for this one and don't take it for granted.... Hoping to see a vastly improved team on the ice. Surely the Goal Line Technology should have been used to decide this?

Outstanding. A bit of a shame a couple of PPs cost us the 3 points, but as others have said cannot fault any of the guys. Every single one played fantastically and put a shift in. My first time seeing this team. Very, very impressed. Mokshantsev looks to be a real gem. Could be a suprise package within the whole league. Cannot believe he attempted a Michigan(apparently thats what it's called. I found out tonight) and nearly pulled it off too. Swapped to the top line in the 3rd period. Don't see him staying on the 4th for long. I always thought it was a 'lacrosse goal' - if successful of course! Never seen anyone even attempt it in the UK before. Don't quote me on it but i think someone from Brahead scored a Michigan last season?

I knew we would never have the squad all in on time for first match, hence why I wasn't buying tickets to see half a team. I am not too worried as the season is a month away, but I am starting to worry that we will be down a D man for our first competitive match on the 9th September, unless the guy that Corey signs has an EU passport... Our first competitive game is on the 24th August, so we have 3 weeks, to get the last D man signed, sealed and delivered.

We didn't have wilson that season, was Beckett, Lepine, Werner, Fox, Lee, Weaver on D I think DP meant Kelsey Wilson. My bad I forgot about him! "Pray for Ferguson"

The thing is, it's all about balance. And Corey's (or is it Black's) problem is that they just get obsessed one way or the other - it's either young with potential or old with big resumes. The teams that win it have a bit of both. I was just having a look through the grand slam winning team for comparison. And in that you've got quite a few players of the calibre we've signed this season - Gallivan, Francis and Graham were all mid-20s with not much above ECHL level behind them and similar stats to some we've signed this season. But alongside them you had Ling, Beckett and Wilson who had played most of their careers in the AHL, and also known, experienced, proven players in the EIHL like Benedict and Fox. On top of that you had Weaver - plus Clarke in his prime. One hope I'm clinging onto this season is Mathieu Roy. Not an amazing resume when they signed him, but a perfect EIHL player in many ways. Although, he WAS coming off the back of an 89 point season in the ECHL. And he'd been captain of his ECHL in his mid 20s so maybe he wasn't so much of a great discovery! We didn't have wilson that season, was Beckett, Lepine, Werner, Fox, Lee, Weaver on D

Yeah I see what you're saying & I'm not necessarily disagreeing; I guess you can't blame Neilson for ensuring there's cover given the injuries last season when the squad was never fully fit. Can't blame him, no. I'm perhaps a little wary that we're going to struggle for goals again. Still 3 players to sign, of which you would expect one of them to be a sniper

Hopefully sign Lepine aswell to go with him or another big monster D man would round off the D perfectly

At least 4 out the last 6 players, i would say need some a good decade of experience, i like the idea of having a young team. But it needs to be balanced.
We still need our Roy (type player) Lepine (type player) and a nasty player to keep people in line. Oh and the top 3 forwards!!

Cause you can only have 5 brits over 23, they currently have O'Connor Dowd D.Phillips J.Phillips and they still need a back up goalie, so unless they have a U23 back up then Tait would have to be a spare There's no limits on British player numbers. Just a rule on if teams want to play with the full 22 man roster, they must have 3 under 23's. Teams could play 19 over 23 Brits if they wanted. Tait could be a player/assistant with Steelers, stand on the bench until an import or Brit over 23 gets injured, and then play. Thats basically what I just said

They would have to have him as a spare if they did, I can see him going to one of the Patton teams or up to Scotland. why would he need to be a spare, he's not an import. They've just got rid of Ferrara, albeit to give Shudra and Kirk a chance, but Sheffield would find room for him if they needed to. Cause you can only have 5 brits over 23, they currently have O'Connor Dowd D.Phillips J.Phillips and they still need a back up goalie, so unless they have a U23 back up then Tait would have to be a spare

Ashley Tait wants one more season. I can see him going back to Sheffield. Friendly with Thommo and played there before. They would have to have him as a spare if they did, I can see him going to one of the Patton teams or up to Scotland.
