Something tells me that Mountfeld will not be resting anyone for this one.
As an analogy, I hope this doesn't resemble what sometimes in Boxing where there is a major upset and then in the rematch, normal service is resumed and the favorite gets their revenge.
How good really is the Czech League, is it like The DEL where we have over-estimated how good it really is?

This will be a tough, tough game. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and expect to win. This is a top class outfit who took us lightly once. I don't see them making the same mistake twice. Having said that, if we turn up and perform like we have so far we can get a result.

Mountfield have to go for it... Bern should be qualifying easily, TPS look out of it and Mountfield will be nervous that we could pull off results in Finland.
I hope we can give the Czechs a good game but expecting a different result.

Here's hoping that Mountfield encounter some Penalty trouble.
At least we will be able to let the Officials know what we think if some dodgy or non calls are made

I hope we can give the Czechs a good game but expecting a different result. I would argue TPS are far from out of it. If anything we did them a favour winning on Saturday. If you assume Bern sweep the group, which you would have at the beggining(although I think there is a chance some could take points off them) then TPS have to beat us twice and Mountfield. Well within their capabilities. The group behind Bern is wide open. This next round of fixtures may give us a better idea. However it could go to the last game with all 3 teams fighting for the 2nd Spot. In fact it's quite reasonable to suggest all 3 teams could end up tied on 6 points.

Realistically to stand any chance of going through,we will need at least 3 more points if not 4. So you would think we need to beat Turku at least once ?

Certainly think so, I'm trying to work out who I want to win between Turku and Mountfield? If teams are tied on points does it go to Goal Difference or Head To Head?

One positive that we can take into the game is that Brisebois will be back and in turn we can put Mosey back up top, this could work in our favour and Mountfield may not be alert to his speed, hopefully we can expose their defence again.
It may not be a big crowd on Thursday but for those of us that are there be loud and make sure you join in with the chants, this team has played very well so far and they are making us proud, they will need all the support they can get if they are going to pull something extraordinary off. We've got nothing to lose, use your voice to get behind the boys!

Without wanting to overly bring the mood down, i think the chances of us winning another game are quite slim. We dont have the element of suprise anymore. I think teams will take us more seriously, and they still should have a better quality team.
Also despite the brilliant performance, we took 11 penalties. On another night the scoreline could of been very different. We must keep our discipline if we want any chance.

We could have been 3-0 down in no time. But we have home advantage now,if Garnett plays stellar again we can beat them Just imagine if we beat them home and away.... Wow that would send a few shock waves around ! 😳😀

It could have been the case that The Officials were favouring the home team therefore we could have the same advantage on Thursday. You never know, Mountfield could be nervous and if we can score first, then anything is possible. If the fans can get the atmosphere going like it was during the 1st Period against Sheffield in The Play-Off Quarter Final, then it may affect Mountfield.

We've literally played 2 competitive games this season and only won one but look at the buzz that's in this fan base! This is what being a Panthers supporter should be like every year.
Maybe we do need to ground ourselves somewhat but if you can't get pumped for these nights, you're following the wrong sport IMO

I think we have a chance against Mountfield and Turku.
Mountfield are beatable, we know they're going to come at us harder but we're in our arena, we must dictate the tempo and hopefully the guys will use us fans to their advantage. Play the physical game more, they hate it.
With regards to Turku, they don't appear to be all that interested and if they feel they won't have a chance of progressing, come October then you'd think they'd play a weakened squad in order to preserve their best for the Liiga campaign. However, if they perform well in the Liiga, they might end up walking straight through us but I think we have a chance so long as we can play at full strength. There's no import limits in the CHL right? Hopefully we'll have Brisebois back and Sauvé can play less than his average of around 24 minutes per game.

Does anyone actually know what was the problem with brisebois? Panthers are being their usual informative self. In the latest article they ahve only put that there are no "new" injury concerns. So i am assuming he is still not fit.

Salzburg absolutely destroyed Bystrica on Sunday night. Take out the top 3 teams in that league and it's very average. I'd go with: NHL KHL Sweden Finland Czech Swiss AHL DEL Slovakia Austria The rumour here in Czech Rep is that Mountfield aren't that bothered about going through to the next round, because they're also playing Spengler Cup and obviously want to target the domestic championship. A CHL campaign would add more games to their schedule. What scuppered them somewhat was TPS being even less interested! So now they come to the NIC this week knowing that a win probably means they'll qualify, while a loss is another embarrassment.

Maybe in the last couple of years Slovakia has gone down in quality yes. Crowds are now lower there too. Losing Slovan Bratislava did much damage to that league.

Just had a quick look on the plan for Thursday. About 2750 seats taken so far. Hopefully push a few this week with people's pay days happening and hope for a decent walk up.

I think there are a few different factors. I suspect by these games being so close together, this has divided the ticket sales somewhat. Going to both means spending £35-40 minimum and that is before the season has even started. That will put some people off, especially if they haven't heard of these teams as I imagine most haven't. Then when you have the choice between a Saturday and a Thursday game, most will choose Saturday. Equally many won't have heard of the CHL so won't be all that bothered. The Panthers would have to do an enormous amount of advertising to get past the hurdles, I think.
If I could go to both then I would, but that is only because I'm familiar enough with the teams so really want to see them. Unfortunately, I can only go to Thursday's game.

It could also be the case that fans made other plans or have to work thinking that these 2 games were nothing more than glorified friendies.
Nobody really expected us to be in the position we are now in based to the results we got in the 2 away games.
For me, I've got a ticket for a concert on the same day as we play Turko. When the dates for the home games in The CHL were announced, I wasn't too bothered as I thought that we would have been already been eliminated.

I must say it feels great going into these 2 games with the thinking that we have a actual chance of qualifying for the next round instead of going just to see a very high quality team play, with the off chance that we can pull off an upset
