Another young guy, presumably an offensive d-man, he looks OK.
I think they're overplaying the AHL a bit but anyway.

Oh dear ! Six different clubs in his last two years in the ECHL tells a story, poor career plus/minus stats and distinctly average stats in the very average French league last year.
I was hoping to be impressed by the next signing, but I'm afraid it's another let down again !

Ouch at the +\- stats. But since when has that ever bothered Corey? Another "project" for him no doubt.
Where's the big, nasty d man?

Can only assume he's one of the bottom 4 defencemen

Bit of a tough CV to read with him being fairly young.
Plus points are that he played AHL at a young age and certainly knows how to score some points.
Downside seems to be that he's dropped quite a long way quite quickly, had lots of teams and some slightly worrying +/- stats.
Looks like he could do with being paired with a big stay at home left shot D man. (Please come back Lepine).
Welcome to Nottingham Mathieu.

Can only assume he's one of the bottom 4 defencemen You would certainly hope so ! With size and stats like that,I'm failing to see what he's supposed to be. The points don't indicate good offence and the plus/minus doesn't indicate a good stay home shut down guy who doesn't get scored on much. All I can say is. The last import D signing had better be a REAL stud and that top forward line is going to have to be serious top drawer quality !

Another wait and see signing, not overly excited about him personally but won't write him off until we see how he plays in the flesh and settles. A little on the small side and looking at his +/- they look horrible but as an offensive D man it's expected in a way. I think as long as we don't sign another offensive D man, get that nasty stay-at-home D man we need and he's paired correctly Mathieu could flourish with jumping up into the rush.

By listening to the radio interview sounds like he is still looking at signing 2 more d men. Hopefully these will be the top defensemen 🙈🙈😔 we can only pray haha

That was obviously before this. I was concerned at the time and more so after this. If however he is now saying still 2 go then thats more promising.

Agree looks like a younger dimmen. With the right partner could be a good player for us but to be honest it's hard to tell. Another player that looks like he will drop the gloves if needed too. It's a wait and see signing prepared to at least give the guy a chance going off his stats doesn't give much.

Either he's changed his mind,or finally realised that Lindhagen is not a good Dman.

Hmmm. Not the stud signing to settle the nerves we wanted. This guys stats are kinda hard to draw conclusions from. The best comparision i can find so far is Charles Landry, who was pretty meh.
I dont really see what problem this guy solves for us. We lack size, but hes not big. We lack stay at home guys, hes not that. And we already have trasition dmen. Im not seeing who we will pair him with. Unless Lee or Billingsley play a proper stay at home role.
This puts big preasure on the final 2 d men. Both guys need to be: High quality Big Physical Proper stay at home players.
Could also do with one having a big point shot to help on the powerplay.

I was hoping to be impressed by the next signing, but I'm afraid it's another let down again ! His journeyman career so far up until last season was out of his hands. Contracted to Blackhawks up until June 2016 so it was them who shipped him around the ECHL, loans and trading his rights etc.. Only the season just gone was in his hands and I'd assume he really didn't like being forced around the ECHL so opted for France. If he can find his offensive tough from Juniors then he could be a real gem, but with it being so long since he had a good season offensively, I feel he'll struggle to re-find that form, though I am hopeful. He sounds like a guy who will get involved in stuff but not fight all that often. Throw a few cheap slashes and punches perhaps when there's a scuffle around the goalie. I noticed that he had a fight a couple years ago against Steelers' new forward, Brady Ramsey. Could see those two renew acquaintances. Definitely a wait and see signing and like you say, I hope the final defenceman or two (unsure how many we have left to sign), are a bit more seasoned with more experience, increased size, toughness.

Well the last one or two D have GOT to be big, tough etc. Only two days ago Neilson was in the Eve post finally admitting he knew last years defence was wrong and not balanced "with too many smaller guys buzzing around".
We could all see it. If he could too, then why the hell didn't he change it !
Yet looking at this years defence,so far it's small ish again. Surely even Corey's learnt that lesson !

Lets wait and see.
Think people are far too willing to jump on to Elite Prospects and make quick decisions.
Stats don't even tell half the story. Eg: Farmer - hasn't had a 40 point season since 2013. Hardly anything to shout about in the stats figures, but think most would agree he is a good player and someone we really value having on the team.
For Brisebois - we've never seen the bloke play, and I doubt many had even heard of him 2 hours ago. Funny how we have so many keyboard warriors-cum-scouts whenever we annouce a new signing. While we like to have a dig at Corey, the truth remains he knows far more about hockey than any of us, and will have seen at least some video of Breezy (yeh im pioneering that spelling of it). Stop moaning and lets get behind this team!

I've got a sneaky suspicion that this guy is going to surprise a few. At twenty five he's had a stint in the AHL and a strong junior career which Corey may well be able to reignite. And although he's not huge neither was Mike Rees and he knew how to throw it around.

In fact, usually the fans can see the problems long before he does... And regardless of whether some of these "wait and see" signings turn out OK, one thing is clear and that's that so far the record season ticket money they're so keen to tell us about is only going on lining Black's pockets. No one so far is expensive.

Would be pretty boring on here through the summer if everyone just said wait and see.

At least 4 out the last 6 players, i would say need some a good decade of experience, i like the idea of having a young team. But it needs to be balanced.
We still need our Roy (type player) Lepine (type player) and a nasty player to keep people in line. Oh and the top 3 forwards!!
