One league of 12 wud would have been bit tricky, with playing each other twice gets you to 44 games, & 3 times to 66 games.
3 Conferences of 4, with the best 4 teams in 1 conference & playing each other 8 times though is just plain wrong!
Then double whammy of how they've chosen to do the play offs, which guarantees 1, & maybe two of the "big 4" missing out!
If going to split conferences like that either / or:
* Make playoffs at worst according to League position. * Make cross conference games 3 points for a win. * Play each team in your conference 6 times not 8. Then do play offs in 2 groups of 4. Guess cud even have losers playoffs for teams finish 9-12 in League.
May have to try & get used to Panthers finishing about 7th in League now & not even reaching the play off QF's...
Thx very much League bosses!!!

Good shout for the 3 groups of 4, everyone be happy bar Manchester a tad regards travelling. Would then say make it 3 home & away fixtures against teams in own conference, with 2 h & a, V the rest, for a 50 is plenty league campaign... Then go back to doing 2 groups of 4 for the play offs, playing each team in your group home & away. Then simply get Group winners V other Group runners up for Play off finals on the Saturday... EPL does this. It works apart from play off weekend. Need to take the top two in each play off group to the weekend otherwise it's just a duplicate of the challenge cup final and you would struggle to sell out the NIC at short notice unless it was Panthers v Steelers. That's what I'm saying; top 2 from each play off group would reach the play off finals, as per it used to be 5-10 years ago, & as the EPL have carried on doing. Then the 8 teams qualifying for playoffs, would have 6 round robin group games, & with the top 2 from each group reaching the play off finals...

It is the best blend of competitiveness and location at the end of the day, all teams should be happy enough with that. It's workable. Providing you don't start bumping conference winners up to no2,no3 and no4 seeds for the play offs and so 2nd in the league becomes no5 seed ! Good shout for the 3 groups of 4, everyone be happy bar Manchester a tad regards travelling. Should be good, never know maybe most of Panthers players will have arrived by then..
Anyone know please when the CHL draw is, & any likely dates when the matches will be played.

It won't be as shown, it has been scaled down and be in a different area I think. Be similar in size tho smaller, say than one in Milton Keynes, that is about 1800 capacity.
It's due to open at the end of 2018.

I cannot understand any reasoning not to do 2 conferences x 6 teams. North - Belfast, Braehead, Dundee, Edinburgh, Fife, Sheffield South - Cardiff, Coventry, Guildford, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Nottingham It solves the issues of fairness and arena/rink teams are evenly split. Also helps spread the cost of travel as the most disadvantaged teams tend to be the larger teams in this scenario. As fans it solves the exploitation of the panthers/steelers games. The only thing that i can see driving a 3 conference system is Black and Morris squeezing every drop from their cash cow This is the fairest way & it's nearly Geographical; guess they're still arguing / debating this, which is why it's another few weeks until decision made / announced.

They've already sold season tickets for this, yet they don't know the structure? What are people buying? Well if they go two conferences of six with two home and two away against every team......your watching FIVE challenge cup games on your season ticket ! 😩 You'd play each team in your conference 3 times to make it 54 games, otherwise no point in having conferences. Think we all know Steelers will be in the "Southern" Conference if go with 2 conferences, which would mean Giants would walk the "northern" conference, & with it probably the League title!

So Green also concedes the first shot he faced in overtime! (ok 2nd) & Elite League have updated his stats to 4 goals conceded from 11 shots faced.

What would happen if green was to get injured? They would only score six Well Green has conceded 3 goals from the 5 shots he's faced, would have done better if had fielding an extra outfield skater instead... Disgrace from the Officials both today & yesterday; & seemingly from Shuff putting out K-Wall. Not that Panthers really deserved to get through only playing decent for 1 period out of 6; but still should be through! Well with very late aggregate equaliser & it's gone into OT, so maybe justice will be done! Can we leave Green on the Bench please!

Reckon MKL are averaging higher crowds than Guildford this season with them doing much better in the League. Think MKL are averaging in region of 1800 this season & capacity is 2800 (apparently 600 is standing). Tho they've a lot of links with schools that pushes the crowd figures up.
Both teams will miss their current local rivalries, & lot of fans unhappy about move but they'll adapt & get new fans in!

Feels like Steelers just let Panthers take a 4-0 lead to make the game interesting... & to make it embarrassing for Panthers players & fans to lose after being 4-0 up!
Expected loss to come here then, & just rest anyone else with injury niggles at Cardiff, in the hope that can manage to turn the cup tie around in Sheffield...

Panthers just killed nearly 2 mins of 5 on 3, both of which were debatable calls. Panthers lead 2-1 with 6 mins of period 2 to go.

Was it the Devils Christmas Party last night?
Expecting a wobbly 2nd Period from the Panthers & the Devil's coming out for it fired up; but surely even Panthers can't throw away a 5 goal lead...

For the Panthers fans going - the advice given is for foreign fans to buy tickets in blocks A3 or C1. If you buy before heading over on odensebulldogs.onlinebillet.dk/ , they'll instantly e-mail your ticket. £40 for 6 hockey games is very good value, hope there's offers on the beer too!

I have here details for anyone's that interested and is going to Odense from the Bulldogs supporters club. The clubhouse which is near the arena has invited Panthers fans to come and have a drink before and after the matches including two party nights Friday and Saturday. Details: We are open at 1.30 pm first match at 4pm Nottingham at 8pm there is a party afterwards and will stay open as long as people are there. Saturday : open from 11.30am first match at 3pm. Next match is 7pmyou will be able to buy sausages etc and again a party will be open until the last people go home Sunday : we are open from 10am first game at 12. We will be open until 10pm. We are looking forward to a great weekend of hockey and hope to see a lot of happy Panthers fans. What a lovely gesture I hope you all have an amazing time. Thanks for passing this on EMB, & cheers to the Bulldogs Supporters Club! Wondering how many Panthers fans are heading over? Probably not as many as had thought, cos rushed to book flights & Accomodation in closing stages of Qualifying for this round. Wary with Panthers losing all their League matches since then... Don't think will get thrashed by any of the teams, but with injuries & poor form fearful that will lose all 3 games.

Semi finals ticket is still available. In Panthers section Block 10, row V seat 16. Will accept bit less than the £48 that it was purchased for, tho sure can sell it at that price near the arena if need to. PM me to arrange to buy it. Cheers! Is this still available and do you know of a spare one .. Doesn't look as though cass04 is going to buy it, so ticket remains on sale @ £45 for the moment. Will be at the arena or the bunkers hill pub from about 11.30, so do PM if would like to arrange to buy it.
