It won't be as shown, it has been scaled down and be in a different area I think. Be similar in size tho smaller, say than one in Milton Keynes, that is about 1800 capacity.
It's due to open at the end of 2018.

Hockey ought to work in Bristol. It's a decent sized city like Nottingham and, much like Nottingham, it's not a football city in the same way similar sized places like Manchester and Liverpool are. You'd think they'd be able to attract a decent crowd without the competition from top flight football.

If Bristol were to one day get an EIHL team, I'd pray to god Swindon follows.. Rivalries are in place already. Bristol-Swindon, Bristol-Cardiff.
Lovely city. Home to 2 Football teams, neither which are any good.. Just like in Nottingham. It'd sure capture the imagination of the locals I'm sure.
The Bristodian accent is pretty horrific though.

Bristol also has a Basketball team playing in the top flight BBL so there's that to contend with.

If 12000 seater like article says could it be the new playoff final home eventually when built?
Even if Bristol aren't in the league

If 12000 seater like article says could it be the new playoff final home eventually when built? Even if Bristol aren't in the league Will more than likely be a 9k capacity for hockey if 12k normally. Would be about the perfect size and neutral BUT unless they get a great deal the EIHL won't touch it as they currently get such a good deal in Nottingham.

Has it actually been confirmed anywhere recently that this Arena will have a permanent ice pad? And i don't mean in Newspaper articles from 2 or 3 years ago. I'm just wondering as i can't see it referred to in the planning application (though i could have missed it). Nor on the proposed own Arenas website. It would be great if it did. But a lot of these newer arenas, Liverpool & Leeds for example were built without one. That's if it gets built......

Again, I think hockey historian Martin Harris as well as Annual editor Stewart Roberts might know a bit more on this subject.
