Honest to god, I feel like a kid at Christmas. I was up at 5 for absolutley no reason so I started work so I can get done earlier for tonight. Problem is I'm going to leave a bigger gap tonight to fill. Luckily bunkers will be open by then to calm said nerves! I haven't felt like this since that game in Belfast! Honestly how I feel. Started work an hour early for the exact same reason. Literally counting down the hours. Just imagine if we can actually win back the two goal deficit..!

What a high level of hockey. Thoroughly chuffed. They had more shots, way more powerplsys but at the end of the day The scoreline never lies.
Absolute amazing win for the a panthers and for the EIHL. I can hardly contain my happiness right now. Bloody chuffed.
A huge mention also has to go to Cardiff for demolishing Vaxjo 5-1 tonight also. Doing the EIHL proud.

Remember that Clarkey will be injured for 50% of the season. Would help shake up some of ours too if they could be sat a game. You're quite right. We will get Brits injured, that's why I'd take Ferrara. It's got to make sense to ditch Dan Green and go for the young goalie. I liked that young kid at Edinburgh who played a game against Panthers last year, can't remember his name though. This guy? www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=277012

The stats have been changed now but it was showing Dundee and Manchester having average attendances of 3000 or something ridiculous like that.

Good news. Can't see Guildford being happy with their travelling if they got placed in the Scottish conference though. I don't think the travelling will be the problem, the problem will be trying to keep the MK and Guildford fans coming to games when they know they are going to get beaten, up untill now MK and Guildford have teams that can beat anyone on the night so the fans hope every time their team will win, getting beaten on a regular basis is not so easy to swallow, anyone can support a winning teams but the real fans are in places like Edinburgh where they get on average 800 - 900 fans for a home game while Sheffield, Nottingham and Belfast can get more than 6-7 thousand for a home game, which means the wage bill for those teams can be ten time that of Edinburgh, how much will MK and Guildford pay their players?
We get perhaps 6 times the amount in attendance on average but we certainly don't pay the players 6 times more. Also, I wouldn't say MK and Guildford would necessarily get beaten every game. Manchester had a relatively good first season, even making it to the playoffs and they were a completely new setup. MK and Guildford have an experienced management that have performed well in the past. Not saying they're necessarily going to do well but I don't see any reason why they should by default be the whipping boys of the league.

Yes.. Somehow doubt the latest figures there. Not sure quite how that even made it onto the website. Congratulations to Dundee and Manchester for having an average attendance larger than their maximum capacity!

I think that both Fife and Dundee had smaller crowds this year? I don't believe so. Are there any attendance figures released for all EIHL teams this season? I can only seem to find previous seasons.

Wasn't there but the scoreline suggests that 3rd/4th place match was of a fairly low quality...

Does anyone know if commentary of the Belfast vs Dundee game is on the radio today?

Encouraging news. Will be watching it later for sure. They need to televise the sport more to raise awareness but the problem I feel here is that the only people that would actually hear about this match being on would be hockey fans. Preaching to the choir in my eyes.

I hate David Simms as much as the next guy but I have to say, I'm hearing a lot of people calling him a straight up homophobe and a disgrace to British hockey etc. but when Cam Janssen played for us last season, I didn't hear the same criticisms. I'd argue that what Cam said in that radio interview was said with a lot more malice and intent to offend.
Perhaps it's a different rule when it's a popular player playing for us.

The Caps are having a bit of mixed season so far it seems. Had a few solid wins but also lost a fair few too. Its these kind of games we need to be consistently winning to take the league. Hopefully we have Stevie and Larry for this one and pull off a win. Going for 4-1 Panthers

This all depends on if I'm allowed to place these on seats prior to face-off on the 3rd. Good luck with that one mate. Seriously though, I like the whole idea and hopes it works out well. The atmosphere is embarrassingly poor most of the time so it's great that you and others are doing this. Should be making it over to Nottingham for the Steelers game so I look forward to it!

The music was extremely loud for the intro in block 6 IMO it was deafening. I understand loud for the entrance but it awful. Could just be me whining. I noticed that too in block 4. The music sounded really distorted too. Seemed fine for the rest of the night though.

Looks like he could be good. His stats are pretty impressive. Would be happy if someone like him were to be signed.

Can Janssen is a clear choice. Lots of experience of high level Hickey and an obvious leader. Easily get the lads pumped up and motivated.
Also, Schmidt if he returns perhaps? Moran?

Great netminder. Glad to have him returning. Lets just hope he'll spend more time on the ice this season and less time injured.

This is news from a while ago now but I only just stumbled onto it now. Paul Zanette played for the Caps and is due to play for them next season (assuming they're still in the EIHL that is) but turns out he just tested positive for amphetamines. I've only been following EIHL properly for the last two seasons and this is the first time i've heard of any player failing a drugs test. Have there been many other cases of this recently? What is the likely effect to his career in a situation like this? Would he going to be allowed to play for the Caps next season?

What's everyone's opinion on Strachen? Do people want him to stay or not? I don't know what to think peraonally ... I know we've had so many problems with the lines being messed around all season and not having a decent D for half the season but how much is this actually down to Rick?
