This is news from a while ago now but I only just stumbled onto it now. Paul Zanette played for the Caps and is due to play for them next season (assuming they're still in the EIHL that is) but turns out he just tested positive for amphetamines. I've only been following EIHL properly for the last two seasons and this is the first time i've heard of any player failing a drugs test. Have there been many other cases of this recently? What is the likely effect to his career in a situation like this? Would he going to be allowed to play for the Caps next season?

A player a couple of years ago (donnish) tested positive for cocaine I believe and was banned for 2 years so the precedent isn't unheard of

I believe it will be the UKAD (UK Anti Doping) that would had out any bans if he tested positive in the UK.

I know a little substance may have been used...i heard...in the 80's ....doesi it.impliy (cos ivre heard pf nothing since ) that its not used now? No, it will be around. But is there a good doping policy in force, who knows. Its one of millions of questions in our hockey. Thought i read of doping procedures in Vic Batchelders News Reviews and one of our QMC docs in chargeof such....unsure. Remember a few of our GB team inc. star Tony Hand being found positive on a World tournament one year.As others were in other teams. A farce as regards testing that time.
